Im having some fun in France (or wherever this track is located)
I lost so much SR at the Mountain so I have been driving this race to try to gain some back.
I like the track and its fast and wide so passing is not too crazy, but in this race I got hit in the last lap, and I really did not understand what happened so I included a replay of the Brazilian and Argentinian that was behind me ...
Welcome to the Sainte-Croix party bus! Come on innnnn!!!Can't stay away any longer. Time to see how I qualify @ St. Croix.![]()
Can confirm from racing in your lobby last night when you drove like we were standing still, hahaSome other competitive choices for Race B:
Mclaren F1
Ferrari 458
Lambo Huracan
Hopefully we cross paths again and have another good race, like that one time we battled it out with the other player at Nordschleife with the Lancer Evos. Some other competitive choices for Race B:

In my first race with A+ drivers at St. Croix I had a spectacular send on a guy in a 458 at the end of the back straight. I thought I braked earlier than normal but I was about to go flying into the back of him, swerved out to the right, prayed the car would stop then parked it on the apex. I was so surprised I made it I messed up the acceleration out of the corner and lost the place anyway.@05XR8; I tried the Atenza. Nope, not for me. Felt like I was going fast but was 2 seconds off my pace when going over the line. Just felt I could not throw it around and push it to the limit of the track like the GT-R.
Finally got to race. About 6 Daily B with Q times coming along OK - 1.10.605 in the GT-R with very little track experience. 1st 3 races were total muck. Started well back on the grid and went backward from that. 3 last places in a row and 2K drop in DR. After that I started to get a groove. Got a 4th and 5th and then started last but worked up to 10th so happy with progress.
I will say that St Croix seems to bring the most aggressive pushing out in players. Yes, racing on GT can be tough and generally they take no prisoners but man it was a tough crowd last night. Maybe it was just my lack of confidence on the track, or perhaps all the space on the track is making people think there's space for 4 cars wide?
The 90 degree right at the end of the long sweeping right hander in the last 3rd of the track (we need names for sectors on these made up tracks) is a pain. The cars behind get a huge draft all the way up the straight and carry more speed into the turn than the car ahead so think they are faster. I was dive bombed, shunted and pushed every time I rounded it. The real problem is that the approach to this corner is actually determined when you cross the bridge and take that 4th gear gradual right hander that leads to the long straight (with right kink). I am not getting enough speed out of that bend so lose speed on straight and constantly lose .5 secs and more relative to others on the track. This often loses me the draft in front and lets cars behind constantly gain on me to the point that I'm under attack by the time we reach the sharp right. Other than that, I seem to be very fast in the first sector through the esses, onto the bridge and up to the exit of it so my laps are a real yo-yo affair.
I'm surprised how big the strategy window is for race c this week. I've been pitting at the end of lap 4 if the lead group are tightly packed and leapfrogging up to the front. You have old tyres towards the end but because of the dirty air the quick drivers can't really do much about it.
Had a nice race with you today. Was good fun. Great to see there are clean racers that still fight hard in my DR bracket@stpatty cheers, I'll try that while reading your post...then I can blame double screening for the crash.I watched @Mistah_MCA video and my run through the esses was actually the very same as his. I hit the bridge checkpoint at 52 secs dead (about 1 sec behind him). It is that bloody right hand after the bridge I can't get, even after watching him. I'll try the orange line on the fence as a point. I think I may actually be accelerating too soon and then having to lift off to correct it.
It's also very difficult (impossible?) to come out of the final corner behind a TS050 and outdrag it to the line in another TS050. If you're infront at the final corner, and the other driver is clean, and you don't make a mistake, I think you win.
After almost 6 weeks not playing(mainly because of the track choices), i was happy to see St-Croix again, at least, the B config. Started my usual supects as the '16 Lexus, F-Type, Aston, Mustang an Ford LM. Didn't look at the leaderbord cars. Best was a 2.12.1 in the Ford, yesterday. Today i saw that the Nismo is the car to be in. Well, tbh, i've only drived that car a dozen of times, certainly more than a year a go or so. I didn't liked it at all because of the poor brakes and corner entry's. (IMHO), it was never an option for me in GR3. Now, i buyed it again and went to track. ...Wauw, inmediatly into the .11's with a best of .5. Is this car made better with updates or so, ...or is it just me? Grtz

I think the G.3 GT-R is much easier to drive on the DS4 post updates. Earlier it was just too difficult to be a viable option for me.

It was always pretty easy to drive on the DS4 with good acceleration, countered by bad brakes. Hence I can't stand the car as it was the one that rear ended me the most at Mount Panorama. I guess the updates gave it a higher top speed plus the wide track makes the worse brakes less of an issue, lots of space to save the corner and accelerate away again. The thing also acts like a tank, perfect ram vehicle. Guess who drives it all the time....
It just might be that xDWhat gave my identity away...the big 6BK plastered across the tail of the car perhaps?I'll keep an eye out for you in future lobbies.
It is noticeable in both presentation videos, an extraordinary rally environment, and as if not enough, in a very recent final, the drivers (16 or 12) made Sardegna. Yes, penalties. and if someone got them, must have to dilute them in time. The brake is there for something, and if by chance, the boost gives more speed (I believe so, as I see in most online users), must know how to brake.

The right hander before the bridge at St. Croix loses me a lot of time and I'm convinced it's because I'm using a controller. I can't get the car far over to the left enough to get a good angle to go on to the bridge. The car just doesn't steer the way it does in Firestorm's video. I drive for Nissan in Manufacturer races and it's always been like this for me.
Variations in ping. What the server sees is slightly different to what you see due to differences in time for position updates to arrive both at the server and at your system. If all three cars were exactly equal on your screen, final positions would be decided by lag. You're in AU so probably 3 yellow bars, the Japanese drivers probably four or five green. In a finish like this it'll likely give them a slight advantage. The second race below(with video) was awesome. I was fortunate to have a few courteous players. Check the finish time. Also, the video shows me ahead, but the places swapped after we crossed the line. Maybe finish was awarded alphabetically?
