I consider myself to be a pretty clean racer, but this was enough to have me considering an alt R4M account :mischievous:.

So, I finally jumped into the race B tonight. I gave up 2 days of racing to real life. Pssshh. Needless to say, with my DR & SR on the slide on my main account, I got stuck in a few bumper car rooms. No wins out of 4 races & more lost DR & SR. But, the night wasn't a total loss. I got the fastest lap (from 8th place) & set a decent QT for the next time I have a go.

That just got me thinking, has anyone every checked on a replay if the driver physics work properly? For example, if you drive head on into a wall at speed, does the driver lurch forward upon contact?

Speaking of, wouldn't it be cool if we had the cockpit view of the driver in replays like in previous versions. Especially with the suit and helmet liveries. I thought the driver did move a around a little bit, but my memory isn't all that great.

That's probably it. I haven't checked, though. It would be pretty funny to fall out of a kart and have to run back to it.
Anyone else remember crashes on Excitebike?

I do. But I had a lot more fun with Road Rash. My favorite weapon of choice was the cattle prod.

I was so close last night, I was pacing back and forth. The light saber was blinging, and the shadow realm was tugging at its newest soldier. Talk about seeing red?

After the 1st obliteration I thought someone accidentally missed their braking point . Then the 2nd one came, and I knew I had acquired a target on my back :scared:. And to add insult to injury, I flashed my lights at them on the straight beginning lap 6 to let them know they could have the correct line (trying to be fair and catch the car in front of them) only to have some 🤬🤬 like that pulled. I asked "wtf?" twice after the race, and got no response. :irked:

Now I see why some situations deserve to be dealt with using a big stick! Just hope I don't see 'em on the track tonight.....gonna cross that bridge when I get to it ;) :mischievous:.
Honestly, there is absolutely zero reason why a driver should be able to acquire 14s in contact penalties and still continue the race. PD needs to add a disqualification system for situations like this. They even went on to try and ruin other driver’s races before even hitting the penalty line.

“This is driving that will make you look bad.”

Just auto drive the car into the pits.

Even if a player doesn't want to serve the penalty, they'll lose time by running slow anyway. Once they near the pit entrance, the game should take over and give them a tour of pit lane for a stop and go.

Edit: Got an AMG GT from the DWG. I'll try that right now. "Six minutes Dougie Fresh you're on..."

Edit2: Just layed down a 10.241 . 0.4 quicker than the 458.

Edit3: Okay then

The race just before, had all these GT-Rs in the first 6 positions. Followed by a Supra then another Gt-R, then me in the other Supra. We both had the measure of those GT-Rs. The problem is, the GT-Rs handling. Just holding us up.

Decided to see if I can get ahead of some of them from the start. Did not expect that lap just then.

The Supra does seem to be happy with this track layout. Speaking of which, I just did the survey, which more paranoid people might see as a thinly veiled attempt to profile us for the government. I'll be waiting to see how the Gr4 version goes. According to reliable sources (Unicorn Circuit) it was supposed to be a GT4 car, not GT3. Another interesting note. Some of the choices about other cars suggest we might be getting some form of Lotus at some point. Lets hope its a Gr4 version .

In my first race with A+ drivers at St. Croix I had a spectacular send on a guy in a 458 at the end of the back straight. I thought I braked earlier than normal but I was about to go flying into the back of him, swerved out to the right, prayed the car would stop then parked it on the apex. I was so surprised I made it I messed up the acceleration out of the corner and lost the place anyway.

Best advice for the long right hander - brake slightly once you're past the orange line on the fence on the right hand side. Very slightly, and when you do, lift off the throttle and turn in. When you start getting close to the fence on the right get on the throttle again, just enough to keep you from hitting it. When you can floor it, floor it. You can usually be doing 110 mph when you've straightened up.

Orange marker helped with Bidet, cheers! Tested a few MR cars and found natural turn in for those was better on that bend too. Set a new Q Time of 2:10.290 with the Ferrari.

The rest of the night was off though. I’m enjoying the track but lost 4 or 5,000 DR on Croix so far this week. It seems as though faster qualifying times are graduating me to the back end of stronger fields.

I did get a 3 second penalty for this. I’m lucky I was locked into a playseat or I may have put a boot in the Telly. I was being slowed by the car in front all the way up the straight so did brake a little early to avoid my draft carrying me into his tail. Had hoped to stay right on him and take on the main straight.

Yessir. That's a bingo.

But FFS!!! 10 minutes I'm never getting back and to add salt into the eye,,,,we wait till December to see which Toyota we are gifted

Glad to be of help. I was kicked from a dozen lobbies because of it. Fix was incidental as I was swapping connections over on a TV box.

so had a few laps of St Cross last night, having never raced it.. tried the 911 (1:10.9xx), then about 5 other cars before giving in and trying the GT-R where i was 0.5 secs quicker in sector 1 and got all giddy with myself and then messed up the following sectors so only managed a 1:10.89x :banghead:

So i thought sod this.. let's get on Fuji.. jumped in and was the only one with no qualy in P20... lap 1 and mayhem ensued with Moses presenting me with a nice P7, then a few laps just keeping it tight and putting pressure on P6 and then eventually he sent it into the wall. This left me in P6 for a Sunday cruise with no-one within 5 secs ahead or behind to the end. Bed time. See you tomorrow Fuji.

Well, I seem to have hit a sweet spot for my rank on St. Croix.
I get started as p12-p10 and so far climbs between 5 and 7 spots every race, mostly thanks to other people botteling along the way. I do get orange SR on the section leading up to the bridge, I suppose the game think I am blocking since I trailbrake there.

Oh trust, I've been waiting for the GT4 Supra. Can't wait to switch Manufacturers. :)

Well my point is proven.

You guys can have race B. Got what I thought were smooth laps, holding a 11.7 equally. Nothing amazing but solid. Entered 2 races, 11th was my highest start in fields mostly A+ and A drivers. Make 1 small twitch in second turn lap 1 and that is the last I see of anyone. Can see them in the distance beating the hell out of each other, but no penalties and no catching them. Race 2 I am doing well until a guy tries a pass through the grass on the first sharp lefthander. He loses it, hits me on his spin and I get 3 seconds. Good bye everyone. Last again by a mile. 1500 DR gone. Not even close to competitive for me. I will have to stick to race C. He keeps getting blue S rating at end of race. :banghead::banghead:

Feel like I jumped the shark with that last Race B. Entered the 19:31 race with 2 minutes remaining in Entry Period. Decided to exit. Nothing else to prove.

Did Race C at 19:00. Full grid and half vanished at warm up. I started 10th and finished 3rd. TS050 Cup + Peugeot + Dodge. *yawn*

May as well do Race A.

That first sharp left hander is a dangerous place. I run a different line in racing if I am close to someone there.
If I get a sense of the other player being too eager/dirty, I push hard to the right, let him take an early apex,t ( he sees and launch )I take a late apex and pass him on the way out. Usually he has to slow down to not run off and I get .3-.5 before the next set of esses.

Maybe like what I experienced today? 20 cars at entry and half gone during warm up. First time it happened though.

Ah ok, the DC bug must be making a reappearance is it?

I got DC'd at entry screen last night too. Happens very rarely for me, but the most recent two times are after I've been updating liveries between races. Anyone else find this has an impact, or is it just coincidence ?

Soooooo, I ran a little bit last night at Fuji. I decided to only share the first 8 laps of the race (to show there was no 🤬🤬 on my behalf.

My area of concern is at the end of lap 7 where we pit, and the ensuing lap after :irked:. Could someone please tell me what I did wrong to deserve my fate in the shadow realm...TWICE!?!

Edit: I'm in my usual black, and teal colors, and my muse is rated S/S.

I think he's a spotty 17 year old and has clearly been told by his mom that that's his last race before bed. So after trying too hard to instantly make up for his mistake on worn tyres and nudging you off the first time (I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on that one), his ensuing 4s penalty sent him into a ragey teenager strop and the only thing he could lash out at before smashing his tv was the black and teal machine nearest to him :D

Lots of race B fun last night, and given its popularity it's a real challenge competing against some ridiculously fast drivers. I will admit I'm in the meta GTR, but I've given it an awful garish green and orange camouflage paint job to make myself feel better. Had zero miles on the clock Saturday morning, up to nearly 1000 now which for me is a hell of a lot of GT Sport in less than a week.

Gained a few podiums but no wins unfortunately. Had the lead in one race and should have scored the victory, but relentless pressure from an A+ driver behind saw me eventually bottle it and lose the spot. Ah well, didn't embarrass myself too much at least.

Want to try the other dailies this week but the call of St Croix is strong. Also, any comments on the GR1 tyre wear at Fuji from controller users - I haven't given it a look in as I usually find it too hard to manage vs wheel users?

I don't think that's it. The old DC bug would show people instantly leaving the lobby once you joined. My own observation so take with a grain of salt but sometimes the lobby will take longer to load after countdown finishes and people might be closing the game assuming they've lost connection instead of waiting it out. At most, there's been 1 or 2 people short of a full grid for me.

@GOTMAXPOWER Undercutting never works for me, something always spoils it but today there was a new one even for me.

What a neat trick, can't tell you how many times I've seen this pulled in an actual race. Well it worked I guess and the dirty air stopped me from having a chance to pass again. :(
