Finally we got to drive something new!!! Well kinda...

Two new track to learn in the same week, it's so refreshing.

Starting with Race B, best lap is 2:09:8 with the GTR. I'm getting better and better with the wheel. Manage two podium finish out of 17 races starting from mid-pack.

Race A is where I did my best race but SR took a hit. Only 4 SR to be gain in that race so every small tap will kill it fast enough.
QT of 2:11.9 put me on pole a couple of time or somewhere in the top 5. Manage to win 8 races out of 20 ish.
The car is fun to drive but we used them alot lately and there are so many cars in the game. it's sad, PD don't put much of an effort in selecting tracks and cars.

Also had one hell of a race with @BenRod from start to finish, it was great man.

Yeah tell me about it. A and B race aren't long enough. Out of the 20 min cycle we only race 6-7 min out of it. What a waste of time.
Last week Race C, we only had to wait 4min. They have to put more lap on A-B even if it's "sprint race".
Fun indeed!

I have been using the "trap" (as you so aptly named it) quite frequently, and a couple other special tricks.

On Tuesday, I had a bad race with some lagging Southerners, from A/S to A/A red. Then the next race, was disconnected on Lap 2, down to B/C. So, I'm clawing my way back up yesterday and...

Won 9 in a row, with several Perfectas. Hoping for 10, I ended up 5th in the 10th race. But closed out the night winning the 11th attempt.
ONLY UP TO B/A !?! Whaaaaaat the ffffffff.....???? It really wants me down. SMH

Been spending my time in the lobbies lately but I like Sainte-Croix. Currently drinking my coffee and trying to memorize deafsun’s replay, lol. What is a good BB setting on the GTR?
I'm using 3 to the rear. I will note that I don't drop to 2nd gear at any point on track, so I need a rear bb to help rotation. My throttle control just ain't good enough, so if I drop to 2nd to help turn in I tend to slide on exit.

2:08.026 for the optimum at St. Croix. 8.536 for a best lap. I've just run 9 laps and each of my 5 best sectors were from different laps.
Very nice, what car are you running? GTR?

Yeah. I've not tried moving the brake balance yet (mainly because I only ever use that for tyre wear, so I don't really know how it affects handling), I think that'll be next.

Soooooo, I ran a little bit last night at Fuji. I decided to only share the first 8 laps of the race (to show there was no 🤬🤬 on my behalf.

My area of concern is at the end of lap 7 where we pit, and the ensuing lap after :irked:. Could someone please tell me what I did wrong to deserve my fate in the shadow realm...TWICE!?!
I consider myself to be a pretty clean racer, but this was enough to have me considering an alt R4M account :mischievous:.

Edit: I'm in my usual black, and teal colors, and my muse is rated S/S.

Whatever the 'reason', I think he gets points for accuracy.

2 times in a row it's bullseye o'clock! Seen many a kill attempt miss by a country mile.

@GOTMAXPOWER Undercutting never works for me, something always spoils it but today there was a new one even for me.

What a neat trick, can't tell you how many times I've seen this pulled in an actual race. Well it worked I guess and the dirty air stopped me from having a chance to pass again. :(

You're too nice, I would've been tempted to run wide for the penalty.

I never normally try the undercut but I had started a race on the wrong tyres (mediums) and wanted to get rid of them as early as I could, I stopped from 12th on lap 4 and somehow ended up 2nd when everybody else had rejoined. I had planned on 2 stopping but the others couldn't get close enough through T3-T5 because of the understeer so just carried on. It also feels like the tyres are cold coming out the pitlane for the first half a lap so you gain a lot more from stopping 2 laps earlier than 1.

I haven't done a qualifying lap yet, Fuji is one of those tracks where it is fun to start from the back.

I've been farming good results with race A this week. I really love the toyo-baru twins and the track is very nice to drive, allows for a bit of mistakes, even if there is mainly one big overtaking opportunity (turn 1...).
Went above 25k Dr points for the very first time
Quali time around 2:13.2 I think.

I have given up understanding how brake balance helps handling. Last week I ran the Mégane at +5 to negate the understeer, this week I run the Merc at -5 to get good turn-in. I don't understand how or why. But it seems to work for me.

I usually start at 0 and if I can make the tricky corners without locking up I leave it there. Then I look at the go to whoa at sharp corners like at the end of Conrod. I'm not subtle, so my driving style tends to be decisive and committed to the Fred Flintstone method. Brake bias is nearly always to the front. No left foot because I use the stick, RC style. The problem I often find is that even though I usually brake earlier than most, I still end up shunting people with full braking .

And on to another night with the vampire. Went in with the blackbird, cut another second of my Supra qualy from last night, and still managed to start P10/16. Race fixing was less than kind with half the grid DR/Cs and a couple of Bs thrown in.

The Stuttgart Taxi was a lot of fun to drive. It loves to dance through the section from the exit of T3 to the bridge. I was doing ok for a bit, but I got slammed from behind and lost ground, then got a bit carried away lap 2 entering the corner onto the bridge. It was a drift that almost stalled, then turned into a spin just as I thought I had caught it :banghead:. Computer says re-spawn... lots of seconds of time wasted while it did that. I managed to catch and pass a couple of people, but in the end it was too little too late, and I finished P12. It's a bit like the Supra, only a party animal. A little more wild and out of control.

SR blue. I managed to cling on to 200 of the DR I gained from my P3 last night. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

Questionable defending of the week  Sad (and worrying) how people can resort to this kind of tactics and sleep at night, honestly.

Edit: That's quite a sketchy SR chart.

I used to do the same when setting a balance, starting at 0 then if sliding in corners, moving it to the rear. But last week I got the +5 from @Mistah_MCA and it was the best the Mégane ever felt, so this week I thought I will start at the extreme then work my way down, but the -5 was perfect for me. Great turn-in, no slides and rock solid. You should try it out, the Merc is much les a party animal then.

I'm having a love hate relationship with Croix. I love driving the track and the racing this week is very competitive. My DR however is down from 24K to 16K. In the last 4 weeks the only time I went off during a race was if I was hit by someone else. My rise in DR was due to me staying on track while everyone else fell off. This week I can set steady 2;10's in Q times all day long and as soon as a race starts I'm off track. The only car I haven't crashed is the Beetle and it sloooooww. I think my bad results are also starting to show in a little bad behaviour creeping into my driving so I may have to apologise to everyone I meet between now and Sunday.

The Gr1 cars are just encouraging push to pass now. Two races in a row the same driver just pushes their way past in T1 of lap 1 and then just holds me up. The 2nd race in particular, like why, after the 1st race they must know I'm faster but would rather push past and then defend hard for lap after lap. I even ran off the track on purpose the 2nd time but as expected I lost out more than they did but soon enough I was right behind them again, eventually I managed to sneak past into turn 1, after they had weaved all down the straight, as was always likely to happen but by then I had no time to catch other cars, that I probably would have finished ahead of and the annoying driver lost another spot too, so actually lost out more than I did. :boggled:

Not that we had any chance of winning, even without all the nonsense, when @zavisic_ was running 1'23.9 race laps and completing the race in under 20 minutes.

:gtplanet::cheers:

Had a stinker of a race B there, started 6th and finished 8th, ended up going from 99 to 86 SR. I might actually end up in a lobby where I can win next.

That's not a stinker. I started 3rd and DNF'd...and that's just one of them. 3 last places in a row. Actually started 4th and got 3rd crossing the bridge on L1 and as soon as I did I was shunted by the car I had passed and ended up last again. Go away with you and your 2.08 Q time is slow and losing 2 places is bad. Sheesh!:lol::lol::D

Won my next diddy race and then finished 6th to leave my DR at 40262. I might retire on this one tbh

In fairness a stinker is the guy why started 2nd in my low SR race. He went wide coming out of the first corner and ragequit immediately.

Think I was in that first one with you. T1 a guy just pushed through from a mile back and after settling myself down into the lap, I got took out on penultimate corner. We both went to the back, both pitted L5 and had a bit of a recovery but you got taken out again.

I'd love a boring race in 5th place or something instead of getting t-boned by over eager drivers and battling with the midfield all race on wrecked tyres!

And yep, Zavisic is a bit special!

I think that may have been the race before those two I mentioned.

That one was even worse and too much chaos happened that I can't even remember it all. I don't even know how I ended up spinning in T1, maybe I was helped, maybe lag punt or something, I don't know but I do know one particular driver had it in for me, hit me again and again until I drove off on purpose to get them a penalty. Of course the early pit gave them a chance to hit me again, which they did into T1 just as a load of cars were exiting the pits, just an awful race really. At least the driver that seemed to hate me ended up at SR B after the race.

That would have been the one. You spun T1 but didn't know if you'd been hit by the guy who launched it up the inside of me

Had three decent races in raca A this morning, then went to try my hand at race B. I can not drive race cars.... tried the gtr and the supra with very similar results. Best lap was 2.11.290 with an optimal of a mid 2.10 after many, many laps with each car. It is just frustrating me that i dont know how to drive these cars. Back to sardegna for a couple laps and got my time down to a 2.11.148 after 3 laps, somehow. Now i need to change the rear shocks on my mazda. If it goes well i should be back on for some more afternoon racing

Yes it felt like I got pushed a bit but I didn't see anything on radar so that's why I wasn't sure, could have easily been a lag contact too, especially when they were so many cars around.

I probably should have saved the replay and watched it back to see what went on but then I'd have spent an age looking at the many incidents, so maybe it was the best to just move on. :)

Saying all that I did report the driver who kept on hitting me and one this morning too (when on my main account), who ran at full speed into the back of me at turn one for nothing, either because the guy in front of me had pushed them way off the road in the last corner and I was where they wanted to be when they flew back on over the grass or because they thought it was me that hit them off originally.

We can all make mistakes and pull off a bad move or two but constant pushing and side swipping and full speed punts should get people banned, as they need to cool down a lot.
