@doblocruiser I just drive whatever feels good for a particular race package, sometimes trying different cars to see what I do best in. All a good test of driving skill and race management. Made a killing months ago at Big Willow in the WRX because I couldn't get a handle on anything else. This time out I ran a few races with the 86 but didn't really make much bother. I can't care about a manufacturer over another as I just want to have some fun races and get decent results if possible. Plus I find being adaptable a great skill. I think it improves your ability quite a lot as you learn to handle things many different ways giving you more options to push anything you pick to its limit.

Depends on if I have room. I can do mid 2:22 on my own but in traffic it's usually in the 2:23 range.

This is from my last race, a good one, finished 7th from 20th

I was just curious because you and I have been racing in the same lobbies ever since I logged in today. In the races that I've had, you've finished either ahead of me or just a couple of positions behind me all starting from the back. Other than a couple of other random folks here and there, You and I are just about the only people consistently running the Citroen in the lobbies

I just ran a race where several people where braking mid Radillion. I hit one guy because I got taken by surprise, the other guy had me sliding off and loosing 2 spots. Well, I managed to regain them and finished p19-p10

I suppose that's what we should have expected with everyone trying to learn the track & not get penalty time. Instead, they'll slow down to the equivalent of 3 penalties in that area instead of cutting the track.

Knocked 4 seconds off my Spa QT, still 15th on my friends list. You guys are good. I hate you all.

Just kidding.

Whew! That means that you shouldn't have beaten my time.

Jeez, the top rooms at Spa are faaaaast. I wandered back into DR.A so no more casual B/S rooms. A+ zooming ahead, hardly any pit stoppers to benefit from. I can't let the field go ahead anymore at the start since it took me 3 laps to catch up last race lol. This race is the most popular I've seen in a long time.

Something that really hurts my potential interest in daily races is how similar they can feel sometimes. Either it's a one-make N-series event, or an event that uses all eligible cars within Gr.4/Gr.3/Gr.2/Gr.1. I'd really like to see more specific selections. I also am aware the N-Series and Gr.X have issues, but I think there still should be a wider variety of races. And I also think more races should require garage cars, especially for the N-Series. It's not like tuning will be enabled, after all. Here were my ideas for more daily race designs:

SF19 (both models) @ Suzuka/Autopolis/Fuji/Monza/Interlagos/Nurburgring GP/Catalunya

C9/XJR-9/R92CP/787B/962 @ Le Mans (no chicane)/Monza (no chicane)

919/TS050/R18 '16/GT-R LM Nismo @ Le Mans/Interlagos/Monza/Fuji/Nurburgring GP/Spa-Francorchamps

S-FR/Roadster ND @ Tokyo East (wet)

F1500T-A @ Maggiore GP

R18 '11/908/TS030 @ Spa

458/Huracan/MP4-12C/SLS-AMG @ Dragon Trail Gardens

Lancer Evo Final Edition Gr.B Road Car/WRX STI Gr.B Road Car @ Spa-Francorchamps (wet)

Clio '15/Clio '16/Clio V6 24V @ Sardegna B

Mazda Roadster TC @ Blue Moon Bay - Infield A II

It's just that it feels like there's so much more potential in the races in general (both for daily races and championships). That's before I get into my wishes for lobby options, too, or the livery editor, or the desire to have more varieties of championships in general other than the FIAGTCs. But I'd also imagine that most of the PD staff would be working on the next game, and a relatively tiny sliver of them would be assigned to continuing support for GTS, so I could understand why seemingly obvious things wouldn't be present.

I think I'd enjoy Spa more if it were a one-make A or B race. It's a decent track, but I'm just never competitive in Gr.3 races, especially fuel-saving ones. :indiff:

Reset your DR and you'll find some competition. It's a popular race so matchmaking on DR is actually working as intended. The lower ranks don't fuel save much either, pit stop and go. Fuel saving is tricky on this one, last week was tight, this week is 8km longer.

Race C... Spa is worthless to challenge for small DR and SR. Ive raced quite alot and damn all those total point was laughing stock I will not participate again in future. The track is enjoyable but 18 to 20 min driving for such small candies. Dont think so I will do it again.

Depends which game you play I guess. "The DR Table Game", or race driving. Each to their own.

Most people are doing the non-stop now, so progress is determined by clashes, people holding each other up battling, mistakes, penalties and pace while fuel saving. It's been a very good week. Lot of respect for your stamina. I've been ill this week but no way I could keep reeling off competitive races all day!

After my SR nightmares the other day I've learned a good lesson. I've since recovered 9k DR and 62 SR, which is where I'll likely start next week as I've no time to do more tonight. Nothing exciting about next week's combos. Maybe some strategy possibilities in C but Gr.2 is not my friend.

Yeah I'm loving how the race has changed over the week. First it was all Audi in the top rooms and chaos after I reset my DR. Then the grids became more varied with most people pitting. Now I've climbed back to the top rooms non stop is the way to go but the field is still surprisingly varied. No one car to rule em all, PD has done a good job with the settings again. Sure there are plenty cars that aren't competitive it all but I saw someone doing 18:55 races in the Z4 this afternoon. Great racing.

Yep, been an awesome week. The most common battle is still extremely good fun* - Audi struggling with fuel, Ferarri struggling with tyres and Porsche struggling for outright pace. Such fascinating strategies playing out every half an hour. Loving it this week.

(* I leave out the Alliens in the Lambo running off into the distance)

Just had one of the worst race At spa so far, people bumping me left and right and me taking the hits on my SR. Some dude straight ram me up at the chicane sending me plowing into everyone else...again I took the SR hit. To make matters worst, I lost connection and got booted out of the race...that was a total :censored:show

Edit: My SR is a B now...that's just great :banghead:

...That’s why I was so proud of my run I had third time out with my new livery in the Mustang.
I ended up lap one just ahead of the always dangerous fallen a plus. First he signaled, but he wasn’t even close to me, then I noticed him fighting the car on exit getting loose out of corners, when he’d get closer before some turns he would flash his lights. Mind you now no speed differential, no threat to make a move.
Then I saw him get very loose, and I thought of the crazy hicks in Pulp Fiction ‘looks like the spider caught another fly’
He thought I assume name regnition maybe would get him through. I’ve never seen him before...Maybe he expected me to pull aside...
Then he saw I was goin pretty good and tried to catch but couldn’t. I finally broke draft and he had wasted his tires and never even forced me defensive. Never made a move. Couldn’t.
I ran some good times that one. It was livery inspired.
Anyhow, I need to break from posting quite this much, but I think these etiquette issues are very real.
For me it’s do I punt, if yes make sure it’s decisive.
For me looking into this game, it’s almost like it’s a racing game, but there seems to be some silly etiquette SOME players hold that I don’t understand like are you turning on your blinker from five car lengths back to tell me you want to pass me? No kidding I never would have thought of that since were in a race!

As I said, been s forever. I put this together. Now, to be fair, I eliminated names to protect the innocent. The guy behind is ranked much higher and would no doubt crush me overall most tracks. He was also a fantastically clean driver, in fact the only reason I’m ahead of him is he made a mistake lap 1, knew it, and respectfully rejoined appropriately without ruining everyone’s race. He seemed to me like a really good person.
I was personally totally stoked on this livery @sturk0167 made me, and I was in a zone. I’m decent at best relative to the whole game, and I rely on races like this to maintain rating. Mustang tcs3, bb 0. As I said before this is about as well as I can do with this car/combo. But since you questioned the validity of my times, here ya go...Times are on wheel, but in case lap 2 23.1 3 22.6 4 22.3 5 and six both 22.4 within .005 of each other, no stopped it sans much assistance from draft. I think they are ok.
You can also see just as I said, him flashing me with lights and placing his turn signal on, so you can see why I talked about that....

There's an alternative explanation for this high beam flashing... I used to do the same until I noticed it in replays and fixed the cause... I'd been totally unaware I was doing it until I saw some replays from the POV of car in front. DS4 default high beam is L-stick button, same stick as steering if you've chosen stick to steer. Using a DS4 and getting a bit tense in a race results in multiple accidental high beam flashes while cornering. This replay looks to me like exactly the same thing, I watched the whole 12 minutes and couldn't find anywhere that he flashed on the straights, only in curves. Also, using a DS4 would go part way to explaining the patchy corner exits and over steering.
I couldn't train myself out of it so I un-assigned that control. I'll only consider putting it somewhere else if I ever find a situation where I actually need it.

Don't let it go to C!

I made the mistake of re-assigning the change view to that stick... and believe me, when you are in the middle of a race and you suddenly go from one view to another unexpectedly, it's far more destructive than flashing your lights! :dunce:

What an incredible week, on this awesome Track called Spa, just wow.
I didn’t got why everyone was freakin‘ out to finally have this Track in GTS, but, i Must admit it was One of my best and most fun Weeks ever.
Every race was top notch, driving on the edge lap After Lap, race after race.
Incredible how intense and thrilling it was being back in GTS, after a 1year break.
It was pure Adrenaline, God how much have i missed that, i‘m hooked again.
Many new Names and yet some ol‘ and familiar ones Too.
More than 30times being Set on my Friends list, so that tells me this Spa has got Magic to it.
I couldn‘t stop racing the whole week after i got Home from work and it was worth every Single race, and Boy i Tell ya‘ it were a lot :D
So, what am i to say, Time to say Goodbye you Goddamn Mother of joyful and exhalirating Racing and hopefully we See you sooner than later back again...
:bowdown:Spa, i‘ll miss you:bowdown:

Im in your same boat. As someone that came back to the franchise after a 5 year hiatus I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about Spa either. Until racing it in sport mode this week.... Wow! I couldn't get enough of the flow of the course and the intense racing it invited. I think you summed it up best with "It was pure adrenaline". Like a little kid, I actually had to make myself go to bed last night at midnight or I would've continued racing until the wee hours.
