Well Phase 2 of my plan was a success! Doing Race C last night, knowing that I would be starting at the back and finish up the back with little chance of contact brought my SR up to 98. Because the grid was nearly all 2 levels above me the DR loss would be an acceptable loss for a greater gain. The last race at Spa was very unfairly matched, and I suspected that was because my SR had fallen to nearly SR/A was the reason... not enough DR/Ds that close to SR/A. Sure enough, tonight with almost full SR, I was matched on a grid of nearly all DR/Ds, with the exception of the A+/A/S interlopers. There was one DR/D above me, so I started in the danger zone, P5/16.
Autodrive had me pointed off track when it let go. Fortunately I was able to brake in time and turn, then turn the other way and slam down the pedal in 1st to get the rexy nicely pirouetting around the exit of the chicane 👍. The poor bastard behind me obviously wasn't so lucky, he was about a second and a half behind me. That suited me just fine because I had T1 all to myself

. The Lambo in front was far enough ahead that there was little chance of me ramming him. He had some crazy lines, and seemed a bit jittery. His Eau Rouge was almost like a Scandinavian flick, he would go all the way over to the right, then snap over to the left ... it looked so bizarre! Sadly for two of the three laps I just couldn't quite get it right like I did in qualy, and picked up 0.5s penalties. Nailed it on the final lap.. all too late

His line at Blanchimont was also a bit .. pushing the track limit penalties. He was going completely on the green before the corner then cutting in. Sadly because I made some mistakes he had pulled a 5s gap, which I was able to close a little, but not enough to change the end result. I started P5, I finished P5.
SR back to 99, Dr went up about 720. The rexy was a good choice, I'm just too timid to push it as far as it could go. It was keeping up with the Lambos. Tomorrow I'll probably see how I go with the GT-R and Veyron, and see which one works best for me for my final race of the week.
