It's been a while since Gr. 4 at Dragon Trail came around (excluding FIA races), so I welcome it back with open arms. :D Gonna see if I can get a better time with the Veyron.

Suzuka Gr. 3... eh. I guess I'll welcome it back. :indiff:

Getting flashbacks thinking about all the spins and chaos that will in during daily lobbies at Suckzuka on hard tires with 7x wear.

I ran four races at Nord yesterday before switching to Daily A. Sven was the 1st of the non-qualifiers in three, and he beat me every time, even getting a 2nd place finish and a 3rd, if I remember correctly.

Lag is deadly there. I was surrounded by South Americans at one point... a 3 bar and a 1 bar ahead, and a 3 bar and a 1 bar behind. Unraceable. Luckily, I decided not to back off, and they took themselves out allowing me to drive through and pull away from the mayhem.
And then the cones... in a single race I took 5 to the face, and ran over at least 15, losing multiple positions. Before anybody says anything - it's far too entertaining for me to turn them off. :D


HAH! That's you? Dude, you were ON IT like a boss in that one race. I started 7th, cars going off ahead about 3 minutes in, and I find myself in 3rd. What the hell? I didn't realize what happened until that bonehead wearing the "party hat" was blasting through everybody like he was scared, knocked me into the wall, and tried to take out the leaders. Then you suddenly appeared next to me and zoomed away to go take him out. I appreciate the way you dispatched him... I was cackling like a witch as I passed his ghost sitting next to the wall with 20s of penalty. :cheers:

Do you guys remember what were your qualy times for Gr.3 Suzuka on hard tyres last time around?

Saw a 2yo video of Lightning doing a 1:57:xxx in an RCZ... But a lot of things could've changed physics/balance wise in the last 2 years so I'm not entirely sure that time is still possible...
I'd love more reference points..

My current time is 02:00:8xx and I don't think I can go much quicker than that...

I actually found out that I have never raced at Suzuka with Gr.3 cars before... I've always hated the track right until the point I raced there with SF cars... Same thing happened with Catalunya... Those cars make any track shine...

I think I was in the 1:59 - 2:00 range.

Good question. I'll probably say barely faster between the last Gr. 3 Suzuka and now, nothing noticeable.
 
Any regular EU lobbies? I might just do those instead to enjoy the game more on weeks like this.
Sorry for OT. Just saw you guys mention US lobbies.
 
The Hyundai Genesis really doesn't perform that well. It just lets me down all the time. I start in 6th, get up to third after making a triple overtake on the banked hairpin, only to drop back to 6th. The Genesis punishes you when you make the slightest mistake. Second race was worse. Started 11th, got up to 6th and plummeted back to 13th after making some stupid errors. It was time to stop and get into the AMG GT. Started 6th, got off to a decent start and stuffed up turn 5, which dropped me back to 12th. I could only get back to 8th after some blatant shoving from other drivers. Next race was strange. I was originally 5th on the grid but half the field dropped out and I got promoted to third. Finishing second in that one was more than enough to satisfy me after the chaos from earlier.

Suzuka is going to be sub-2:00. It's only survival mode at T1 and the final chicane. Everywhere else is a series of unfortunate events.

I think I'm still around 2:02. And that is usually with a car on the ragged edge. How y'all are ducking under 2 minutes just astonishes me.

@Granadier, according to your comment, I'll be racing at 3 a.m. again.

In his defense it wasn't really dirty. Just a low DR driver pulling out the slipstream and going too far at the same time I moved over, once we touched we got stuck together. I think that is the only driving standards penalty I've seen today.

I like the idea behind the new penalties, some people will exploit the leniency but they're the same who were playing the system before. People generally try to race clean so it kind of polices itself, less SR drops will hurt the people deliberately resetting too which should mean the low DR lobbies are more balanced.

Wait until next week when you have to try to make it though the esses at Suzuka with a line of of cars behind you. They're gonna figure out by then, that they can do whatever they want to you. :scared:

That video is clearly altered as you can see the main issue actually gets a penalty. Check out @Sven Jurgens video of the same guy on the penalty thread. It gets worse!

Edit: I think it makes sense if you look at it this way. They are trying to get the penalty system to match what they have in the GT League! Only have some sort of penalty still available.

He hit me like 3 times in the first clip but hey he got a 1 sec penalty for it! And I wasn't the first victim!
How did you pass him at bridge without getting punted off when he was hitting everyone?
And the dude was a Blue S after the race...insane.

I've loaded a ghost car and I can't see it. even pressing R3 button,

Yes, I race with DS4

Edit: I was trying a new QT at Maggiore (Practice mode)
