not gonna lie...it’s getting old finishing in the bottom 1/3 and running the fastest lap at DT. People can’t seem not to punt you out of the galaxy on the first lap.

manu was fun at BMB even though I got taken out hard on the 4th lap. I’d be into a daily there at some point.
The only way we're ever going to see more ovals regularly is if they add Motegi, since they can't stop recycling the same Japanese tracks into the rotation every week.

Match making is working (mostly) for me. I'm finding myself in much more closely matched fields.
The cherry on top, 3rd win ever today, making two consecutive wins. Started P2 and the lead driver missed a gear change letting me get in front before the first chicane.
Held it until the final turn on L3 where he caught up and passed. I took back the place at the first chicane but lost it again coz' he got a better exit. After a series of minor unforced errors by both of us, I got the better line through the chicane of death which allowed me a clean pass at the final turn to take 1st by less than a car length.

I'm beginning to master spotting and taking advantage of passing opportunities I think. This is beginning to show in my results, because my times are not getting much quicker.
When matchmaking puts you into a lobby with A+ to B drivers who have quali times between 1:59.5 - 2:03.5 it’s not an even field at all. My 2:01.3 puts me in 10th place yet the game says I should be finishing 3rd because of my DR.

None of that makes sense. It’s just a recipe for a guarenteed DR crash unless I somehow shave a second off my quali time. It’s asinine how your finishing placement is the sole determinant for DR, and this SR>DR>Quali matchmaking just exacerbated that issue.

I was hoping to get a bunch of racing in today. My daughter had a doctor's appointment this morning, and it's easier for me to get coverage at work if I take a full day off. Alas -- it's also a day to schedule other services, like the plumber that's trying to get our Steam radiators working efficiently again. He's running out to get some more parts, and I tore apart my living room so that he can more easily get at the radiators to repair/replace/clean. It's needed because it's going to be decently cold over the weekend, but the race wheel and TV are out of service.

I guess I'll get some actual work done instead

I've been in homogeneous B/S lobbies with bottom half door numbers, and starting in the top 2/3 positions each race. With the punts, I'm barely holding on to my low B rating. I also lost DR in a B/S Manu race last night after finishing 11th. I don't even care really much at this point because I'm so far from my peak. Bring on the DR C, haha. It won't be a fair fight.

Pretty much what has happened to me over the last two weeks. I’ll be back to DR C by tomorrow lol.

After many attempts, I got a no-qualy win at Suzuka last night. 20th to 1st. I only needed one revenge punt and for Moses to part the seas here and there.

In my experience the racing has been pretty dirty. I ran a lot of races yesterday and got punted at least once in every one except this one, where I was kinda pushed but managed to stay on track.

It was the same scenario almost every time. I get a better exit, move to the inside approaching a corner, they move to the inside to claim the line. I let them have the inside and move back to the outside and try to take the long way around. They come into the corner just as hot as if they were taking the normal racing line and use me for brakes pushing me wide. No penalties, and they keep driving. Also had people diving from .5s out or more and using me for brakes. Lots of blockers too, covering the inside, then the outside, then moving to the middle, swerving when I’m drafting to force me to bump draft them. Lots of really garbage drivers in high SR-S who normally wouldn’t be there for more than one race.

I don’t understand the desperation of people who will lose a whole second to me in a few corners and try to weave and block and push me wide on purpose as if I’m not gonna pass them anyway. Basically, I now trust no one in these farcical lobbies. Desperation moves everywhere, and still nearly all blue S’s every race. What a joke.

This was the one time it all worked out. I had a lot of podiums and top 5’s from the back but this was my only win yesterday.

Race B is awful when it comes to penalties. Most people will just push you out of the track just because you took their lead, it's so god damn annoying,

I must say that my qualifying time is not the best on this track but this last race might have been my best this week. First 2 corners the guys in front of me were either making false calls or spinning out everyone; ultimately I got to p2 by the end of lap 1 and it was a close race till I snatched the lead right after the chikane of death on lap 4.

Not much sense doing these dailies anymore with the way the penalty system has changed, and the way driver behaviour has deteriorated as a result. Why even bother, just to get sent to the netherworld by someone who just has no interest in a fair fight?

Tried daily A last night (A/S lobby) and was punted into oblivion on the last lap while running 7th. I asked the perpetrator after why, and his simple answer was "too slow". So I guess I should have just pulled over for him and let him by instead of running my clean lines and not making it difficult to pass me when the time was right.

Basically the behaviour has become "yeah, I'm being dirty, and I don't really care too much about that"... I don't know what the solution is, but until there is one, I'm basically done with Sport mode. I'll still do the FIA races until they deteriorate to the level of the dailies, which won't be long given what I've experienced the last couple of rounds.

Sad, really.

Races like this are the reason I love this game
Had some awesome three-way-battles with GT4R_DanBac_1990 and FatalVaska in the EMEA Top Splits on Suzuka this week.
Here´s my favorite one of them. Even the total time was 5-8 seconds slower than in other races this was just the result of many fights and passes.👍
A pleasure to drive and watch. :)

As much as people have said that they are still getting a good battle in here and there I just haven't been the lucky one on that count. I think I have had 2, maybe 3 clean battles all week where I wasn't getting bashed aside, turned in on or just straight punted. 1 of those battles was when I got punted to last and raced with the no qually driver back there for the rest of the race.
The cleanest run I had on race A last night involved the guy I was lining up for a revenge punt crashing himself out as I got close, so sort of classic pressuring him into a mistake. Had a decent couple of battles last week but this week is just dirty.

It is still possible to get penalties and I've seen it myself a few times. It always seems to be forcing another car off track at or very close to the apex of a corner. Of the several times I've seen it, the penalty was awarded to the wrong driver only once and that time only because a wall was unusually close to the apex of a turn. Had the wall not been there either there'd have been no penalty or it would have been bestowed upon the other driver.
Saw the first person with a drop from SR S to A today - dirty driver in Race A ramming everybody off that he could!

Also suffered my first penalty and SR drop since the update (after a run of 5 CRBs!), when a guy ran into me at the hard right at the bottom of the hill (Race A again), and went off track.

Race A this morning went pretty well actually, for me at least because there was still lots of dirty things happening out there. It's not pretty.

Out of 6 races I manage 4 podium and one of them being a win.

Starting 3rd, 2nd positions start to door banging the pole sitter on the way to T1. I stay behind and watch them bouncing each other out of the track and from there I go for the win. I did not have time to look for the name of the dirty driver but on the next race a friend warn me of the dirty 🤬.

So the dirty driver is fast enough, he is on pole and I am 2nd. He get a better launch than me and come on the racing line (right side) in front of me aaaaaand slams the brakes!!! I lost many positions but I see him in the sand in T1. The freakin guy is fast enough to win this straigh from the start and he still decide to wreck people, what a tool.

The good news is in all the races he was in with us he started in the top 3 but finishes in the last 3 positons. Some other people took well care of him.

Another race and got hit into the sand in T1 but that is just another day in racing I guess.

I had two races @ DTS last night after Manu. The first race was good. I had a good battle with P1 and came in second.

During the entry period, my wife was like “watch you have a crap race just because you had a good one...”

Which it turned out to be true smh. Punted at T1. It happened the other night. I had a good race then two bad races. I blame the wife for jinxing it lol

Hi, why not just do a slow qualifying time? I see people with no QT & wonder why. Thanks.

very nice race, the GTR looks like it hooks up well, tire wear very good as well. I have run into that clown that you assisted off the track many times.

thanks for posting the vid, I wanted to get a flavor of how race C is going, for the most part, looks good. surprised there were no R8s...
