I ran one race at Bathurst on my alt account which is still E/B. What a blood bath. Seriously impressive. I don’t think I’ll give it ago on my main account.

I ran 4 Bs. I got taken out on T1 twice for back of the pack finishes, and then had a lights to flag win and a P3 with a couple of guys who were way faster in front of me. I’m finding that being a little more aggressive into the first turn is helping, and the Jag makes that easy because it leaves the Megane in the dust off the rolling start.

Ya can't afford to be timid at Hells at the start or the pack will eat you alive. You don't have the same speed coming up to the corner that you have on subsequent laps, so you just have to position yourself and nail that throttle and use the whole track to get a good launch up Mountain strait.

Here's a replay snapshot of my experience with Race C this week...

Yet somehow the races at Sardegna are 100x worse. What is it with drivers when the get into a Megane they lose their damn minds.

The Gooder News: you have tons of fuel for that race. Unless you get a tank puncture you’ll never run out of fuel.
I almost ran out of gas in the Vette though. Finished with 0.3 left and that was taking into account a bogus 7 second & 4 second penalty I received. I was also short shifting a bit on lap 1 until I got the tires warmed up.

Dunno. I'm not confident in the Supra's turning while braking. I had to slow up way early to make the apexes. Followed that RC Z until it lost it out of the dipper.

It was going to let me by, but I didn twant to fight and lose pace to the GT-R. Lap 8, the Supra for the electric slide and ruined my right side tyres. That Jag was 5 seconds behind me and finished just behind at the line.

Qualifying can be a cruel mistress. Decided to try a couple of cars. Wasn't happy with the R.S.01 or the Supra. Gave the Aston a go. Nice and stable, turns in well under brakes. After a number of laps I was all set to beat my Beetle time by a second, which I will need tonight. Sadly I took just a hair more out of the entry to the chase than the game was happy with, picked up a 0.5s penalty, so that lap wasn't counted. Ran a few more but the penalty failure took the wind outta my sails. To further frustrate me, the post qualy stats tell me I had another second on top of that in me. 2s faster qualy time would have been kinda handy to have... which means when I do more qualy tonight, I ain't gunna get it .

Well, something's gone awry. I had to slow Big Lex right down, when entering corners, just like the Supra. Maybe I should chill and play GTAV for the rest of the day.

The GT-R passed me twice and I retook the lead twice. My tyres were losing grip by Lap 5 into The Chase. I was 2 seconds clear. Lap 6, up mountain Straight, I moved over. Had no bite left in the tyres. Had to maintain that gap to the Mustang.

It's thirsty all right, but I manage 9 laps at full bore in AT."

that`s interesting-will try it on auto-i presumed you would be faster and have more engine braking etc using manual-will try tonight:cheers
ps:i just love the Mustang too as i learnt to drive in my dad`s XT GT until my brother wrote it off.......

I tried the Lexus in quali yesterday and it did not do well. I had just switched from the Supra to the Lex, so I was using the same braking markers as I did with the Supra, and the Lex just did not stop. Also, it was horrible on the turn in’s.

Also gave the Jag a run, and it’s just bloody brilliant on Bathurst. Extremely predictable. Stable up and down the mountain. Manages fuel and tires well. Did 2 races with it and I’m very happy with it.

It's thirsty all right, but I manage 9 laps at full bore in AT and finish with 0.7 lap in the tank. Tyres, well I don't think it's that bad, I have been pitting for fresh so I can push hard at the end when everyone else is nurturing worn rubber, since you loose so little time pitting.
And if you just keep gassing downhill it's wonderful stable. Hauls in the GTR's on the straight too.

I hope they never nerf it!
I'll try it today, probably on my second account.
We'll see, I'll do one race with and one without pitting.

I think we all do!

Edit: On a second thought, I think maybe doing it on my main would be smarter, because I already set a qualy time. :)

No problems with Big Lex, ever. Both cars weren't working for me today. Maybe it's me. See how it goes tomorrow.
As an old timer I worked with used to say, "It's not the tool, it's the fool.".

YES! I got my first win in a while. The M6 GT3 is pretty decent around Bathurst. Love this circuit.

The M6 became my favorite car after this:

Since then it is usually my go to car, but in races where tire wear comes to play it tends to eat up rubber faster than i can compensate.. how is it doing on the mountain? I am back to the Beetlem (so stable with worn tires), but would love to take the M6 uphill :)

how are you running out of fuel like that In the vette I’ve still got a 3rd of a tank at end of the race and I’m doing 2.04s the entire race

Great racing tonight, tried the Ferrari, Nismo and Viper. Viper probably my favourite and would be keen to put more time into it to get more out of it. Had a race sitting in 4th for 8 laps battling third while catching 2nd slowly, final lap below.

Just great racing and great respect between the drivers. After chasing third for 8 laps pushing the whole way to keep up, to have a final lap like that was incredible! Thanks for the race guys and thanks to those who came along to my stream!

Had to smash an NSX that kept trying to nudge and unsettle the OyVeyron. Couldn't pass me cleanly and kept nudging. Finally, it nudges me heading down the valley double left-handers. Gave me a side bump, I bumped it back. Then, in the braking zone dirty deed done. We both go off.

Unghosted behind the NSX and we we so far ahead in 6th and 7th, When the NSX tried to do the spin out celebration, I didn't give it the satisfaction and pulled into pit lane. Finished a few tenths ahead of 8th.

Next was in the GT-R. Good good handling. Stable and speed like the SLS.

Last race for the night. Had a battle with the Cayman and Slophy. The Supra feels so good. I held FL on Lap 3&4. The other Supra got FL at the line.

I actually found it seemed to handle better as the tyres wore .
More like everyone else is wearing their tyres out and you aren't. Plus a bit of fuel load coming off as well.

Just got caught the on the GTR train, so much faster over the mountain but nowhere to pass and then down the straight one GTR slipstreaming another and no matter how well I get off the corner I just have to wave goodbye. Worst bit is I was chasing all race just to catch these two in 10th and 11th. Managed to get by on the last lap at least.

ok then.. to the mountain we go, me and Mi6

Perfection!

Got some laps in after work yesterday. Both race B and C are nice combos. I find that i am not very good at sardegna b. There is two turns there which i have a really hard time getting the line right. Always liked mt panorama, but never been very good at it, although i feel i have gotten better recently. Best time for B was in the mustang, 1.25.961 with an optimal that wasnt much better. Havent tried trophy yet.... fastest time on the mountain was in the '11 m3, 2.04.536 with an optimal of .041 I think i can get it into the 3s with a few more laps. Haven't tried anything else yet, just wanted to give the bmw a try. It surprised me tbh...
