Lol that lag!!! On my screen you were much further back and pushed the rear left of my car out with your nose in a lag wobble, hence my car entering the turn sliding before it suddenly shimmies to the right in your video.

No penalty because of lag I guess, hence you don't get to be on my penalty reel! (gonna be a long one this week)

Anyway you had me laughing for half a lap for trying that. Then you kept pitting. Afraid to come into punt range? :mischievous:
I was too embarrassed after that one so took no chances of hitting you again, I was taking shots at fastest lap at the end but got collected by a Corvette.

And the Mustang on the inside was me ;) great racing from the back with you yesterday fighting for the FL
Damn, I'm still trying to learn the names in the American lobbies. I couldn't have picked a worse couple of cars to hit!

It's good fun racing from the back in these, the Euro lobbies don't work as well for it because there is less field spread

Last night was particularly entertaining. First, this:

Never have I gained soo many positions in one corner!

Bathurst wasn't doing me any favours, so I improved my lap time in the Jaguar F-Type. This put me in a good position to score a podium or even a win. A podium would more than suffice after my previous errors, but I didn't expect it to turn out like this...

I almost crashed because of this.

I surprised myself!

Nah, there's no way I can get second. Unless...

I don't think I can do any better to be honest. I was lucky to get this result.

Bathurst still has me absolutely baffled. My pace is horrible, 2 seconds a lap off when Gr.3 last ran here and I've no idea what's happened. I just don't seem to have the grip. Weeks like this just become a grind trying to work out where it's all going so wrong!

Cars I've tried that are nice to drive in qually get absolutely destroyed by the GTRs on the straights so you just get held up where you can be quick and then left behind when it becomes a straightforward slugfest. Overtook a GTR serving a half second penalty in the penalty zone and it just accelerated back by!

Edit. 19:20 total race time with 2:05 fastest laps. I'm losing lots of time in traffic, like everyone else but I'm miles off the pace when just lapping in clean air.

That is a familiar looking Corvette. Unless there are two people using the same livery, I'd say we raced against the same person.

He really wasn't having a good night by the looks of it. Made a similar mistake at Murray's after I'd just passed him, almost spinning out on the kerb.
Prior to me passing him, he was battling with another AMG where they had a bit of contact turning a 2 car battle into a 4 car battle. The offending AMG came out worst from that, being overtaken by a Vantage and myself at the kink before the cutting. The Vantage managed to overtake the Corvette as well which put me behind the corvette. Coming through McPhillamy Park the Corvette nudged the inside wall making it run wide. Opportunistically, I moved over to the left and went round the outside at Skyline in what is one of the scariest moves I've ever attempted. Great driving by all to get through that without any contact.

The following lap, the corvette was punted at forest elbow by the pole sitter who had incurred a penalty early on in the race and fallen back down the pack. Corvette ended up directly in the wall and had to get reverse to get out which effectively ruined his race. The punter received no penalty for this, and had I known this incident had occurred I would not have let him by so easily (being a second a lap faster than me I didn't want to waste time trying to battle him).

Overall, that was one of my better races at Bathurst, although it was partially at the cost of the Corvette's race but oh well.

I was thinking more like Judge Dredd.

"Respect the badge, he earned it with his blood. Fear the punt. His sentance may be death because I Am The LAW, and you won't 🤬 around no more..." Drokk it!

Go to "Car Settings", then "Tyres" and change from "Heavy Wet" to "Racing Hard".

Wait, I might've been in that race. Is your PSN just linksracer or something else? Do you remember seeing fubbletrouble888?

Before the week started someone mentioned how good the Jag is around Bathurst..
Thank you to whoever that person is that I unfortunately cannot remember the name..
What an amazing car the Jag is on that specific track, so balanced, so controlled, really glad I decided to try it..

But

It just can't keep up with the GT-R
I'm sick of being molested by GT-Rs on the straights... And you simply can't cleanly overtake them.. I make up so much time on the twisty bits with the Jag's superb handling, but then we get to the straights and they just vanish.. And it ain't like the Jag is slow... I could easily keep up with AMGs and Astons..

Screw this, I'm switching to the GT-R.. I don't care how poorly it handles or what my conscience is telling me, I WANT THAT SPEED...
Going against the meta is not working..

I get what you mean, but the Jag is supercharged... Still, the power delivery is very smooth...

Mate, we could play GTA together if you don't mind an awkward dude with no ability to create conversations and a foreign accent... I have the Casino heist with the "Big Con" approach on hard and no-one to play with..
I play offline. My 20yo Step-daughter keeps asking me to join her and her friends for co-op. Nah, I just like to drive various work vehicles, without getting targeted by 8 year olds.

So 2 races up the mountain. I started P7/8, and worked my way up to P3 in both of them before an unforced error took me out in both on top of the mountain. I ended up finishing P9 and then P7.

I used the Mustang the first race, and switched over to the Jag the second. Was a bit more consistent with the jag, but it could just be track time at this point. I have 5 times as many miles on it.

@Redsea666 was in the second one...hope it went smooth for you, bud!

So I tried the GT-R...
And HOLY **** WHO BOPD THIS CAR?? It was tricky to get used to it at first, but after a couple of laps I got the hang of it..
I'm no faster with it than I was with the Jag on outright pace, I'm still lapping in the mid 04s in the race..

I lose quite alot of time out of slower corners in comparison to the Jag, but I make all that time back just by accelerating in a straight line...
Definitely a less rewarding driving experience...
That is if you have TCS on like I do of course..
For you lot who can control that car with TCS off and still be quick, I heard NASA is looking for y'all..

The car is just such a cheat code... This one race I went from 5th to 2nd in the first lap just by accelerating past them on the straights (they were driving AMGs and Beetles)
The guy in 1st was driving the Mustang and fiercely defend his position until the very last lap... But he did push me wide once and felt bad enough that he wait for me at the finish line and gifted me the win..
Didn't feel right... He deserved it more than I did...

I almost crashed because of this.

I counted 5 cars all slipstreaming of each other and ALL of them accounted for the extra speeding heading onto the braking zone?? And nobody died or got killed???
What DR is this????
Superb driving from all of you..

Overtook a GTR serving a half second penalty in the penalty zone and it just accelerated back by!

This is what I got sick of dealing with...

Smart decision
I play the online mode, but alone.. There are ways to create public solo lobbies... I do basically the same as you... But It'd be nice to have someone to help me out on a few things that have to be done in co-op...

Just booted up PC2 on XB1. Then, AC on PS4. The AI just spoils me. I'll take a pass on Sport Mode today.yeah right
If GTX can offer AI close(very close... I'll take better, but I ain't greedy) to those two games, I'll be delighted.

Edit: :D

After getting "Wasted" trying to evade Five-0, with a Clunkin'Bell trailer attached to my semi, jumped back in GTS for some raceBDailySportMode.

People have been complaining that Race Bs are too short. Race Cs as they have been for the past several weeks have kinda addressed that, but at the cost of a strategic race mode
This week's Race C in particular, is more like the final laps of the Bathurst 12H. Low on fuel, tyres wearing, the time of day, it's close to the real thing for once.

Finally moved up a step.

When players are grouped this close, everyone(including me) thinks they can fit in the same spot. Had a slow Slophy in front of me. I was losing pace to the cars ahead(I was battling for 4th). The Slophy behind and the Huracan behind it, were gaining. At The Valley Hairpin(before the PZ), I was entering the apex. Get pushed wide. I'll have to watch the replay. First car that enters my screen is the Huracan that started 6th.

Just because fast cars like the RC F and Huracan gain in the slipstream, they have to slow down for the corner and they ain't outbraking me or have the corner entry-mid-corner speed like me, in the Supra. Fell to 12th and finished 7th. Done for the night.

Did some laps at mount p last night, under heavy distraction lol (wife and dog) Not sure i got even one lap in without having to pause at some point. I did however manage to cut .1 or so from my best time and get a optimal of 3.9xx Went in for a quick 5 laps before work this morning and trimmed it to 4.086 with an optimal of 3.821 still running the '11 m3. It feels pretty good here and I've noticed a few more pop up on my friends list.... lol

Tonight and tomorrow will be my racing days i hope. Wife works late....

Tried the Jag, ok I guess but a ton of understeer. Tried the Supra, no, no good, too butt happy on exit. Jumped back in the Merc and all was good.

I am totally outclassed in S/A rooms. I have some good races but lucky if i am even top 12 or so, i just do not have the pace, but my DR is 36K so i keep being paired with these guys. How they do 4's all race i do not know.

So 2 races up the mountain. I started P7/8, and worked my way up to P3 in both of them before an unforced error took me out in both on top of the mountain. I ended up finishing P9 and then P7.

@Redsea666 was in the second one...hope it went smooth for you, bud!
I had spins on both of my races last night- first one was in lap one and was fine...... second one was lap 9 and I lost like 5 positions. Either way, ended up +DR for both, so no worries. I'm really having fun on the mountain. It's been a while they had a Race C I enjoyed.

Since everyone seems to be raving about it, I figured I'd try the Jaaaag. I took far too many laps of qualifying to actually beat my Aston time. The Jag is ok, but for my money, the Aston is better. Since I had dropped to SR 85 in the last race, this race saw me on a mixed grid of DR/B/C/D. My slightly improved time (I'd managed to *just* break into the 2:06s) had me starting P7/19.There was a lot of AMGs on the grid. Optimum was about 1.5s faster, but I just couldn't find the consistency, and trying was just making me frustrated :irked:.

Race starts with me not pointed in a strait line as the dash for crash starts. I made it through T1 ok, manage to pass an M6 up Mountain strait, only to have him decide to send it up the inside at Griffins just as I started to turn... I ended up scraping the wall but at least not spinning out . I dropped a place but regained it at The Cutting 👍. I was hanging in there, lost a bit of time from the BMW roadblock and grazed a wall, but maintained position. That was untill the AMG behind me saw me slide a little just before Forrest, jams it up the inside, slams into me and rotates. Then he uses me to keep himself going while (he was carrying a 0.5s penalty) I get slammed into the wall. I'd dropped to P10 by the time I got moving again. I was right on the bum of P9, and had much overlap on the inside of the kink, and he just turns into me like I wasn't there :banghead:. I'm not sure if he overcooked it or if I tapped him braking for Murray's, but he almost strait lined it and hit the Mac in front of him, who got sideways. I ended up straddling the inside ripple strip...looked ugly :scared:.

The Mac ghosts and I drive through him, manage to make the turn into Hells and pull away up the Mountain. Caught up to an AMG who looked a bit twitchy, and had to back off a bit so I didn't rear end him. This proved to be helpfull because we both caught up to another AMG.. I just sat back to watch the inevitable happen . It took longer than expected... entry into The Chase, and off to mow the lawns they went! I had a goodly gap behind me so i was cautious on the approach to The Chase, and thorough I went.

I just continued to circulate, focusing on staying on the track because in my hands, the Jag was not living up to the hype. I found it twitchy and prone to understeer compared to the Aston. Lap 7 coming up to Skyline I see the yellow flag and an AMG not looking too healthy. I pass him, but he is right on my bumper around Forrest, but he didn't knock me into the wall . I see a puff of dust on Conrod and a ghosting Porsche, and thought I'd managed to grab another place, but sadly he was a back marker getting lapped. The AMG was right up my arse, so I was expecting him to make a play at the entrance to The Chase.. either he over cooked it or was trying to avoid hitting me, but he ended up on the grass a bit and haemorrhaging time. I knew that wasn't going to hold him for long, I was being a lot more cautious just trying to keep it together.

Lap 8 and he was on fresher rubber because he had pitted earlier, but he was also being more reckless, and it showed.. he grazed a wall after getting a bit wayward exiting The Dipper, so I was able to keep my gap down Conrod. He was right on me across the top of the Moountain. I was surprised to see the BMW in front, I had somehow caught up to him. The AMG passed me at Skyline. I hate people passing between the entry to Skyline and Forrest Elbow... it's narrow and I'm just freaking out trying not to hit any walls! To his credit it was a slick, clean pass. Then he got a bit loose after The Dipper and took some paint off the wall... I passed him on the change down and brake dab at the kink before Forrest Elbow. I had a gap down Conrod, but he wasn't far behind. I was expecting him to try something, and he kinda did. He braked later than me for The Chase, but I was on the inside, so he wasn't going to pass me there. He ended up on the grass... again. I finished the race P5.

SR went up 13, so I got back all but one of the SR I lost in last night's fiasco :dopey:. DR went up 730. My DR is now the highest it's ever been :scared:. Usually on my visits to DR/C the highest it gets is in the 6k range. It did go up to 8k on my second visit, Day 111 it made it to 8118... it's now day 524 and it's more than 100 over that . The DR/C journey continues .

I've been feeling pretty crappy the last week or so, and my wife finally convinced me to take a day off from work to get some rest. Head/chest colds are rough on people like me who have to interact with others for the entire workday, haha. After sleeping in a bit, I hit the track. I'm starting to understand why you guys like Bathurst so much. It's got something for everyone, and now that I get the rhythm, I'm putting pretty consistent 2:06s down in races.

I ran 3 races this morning. I started P3 and P7, and finished P4 and P3. The third race, my DR had been bumped up enough to get the big boy room of the morning with S/A+/A drivers at the front, leaving a low B like me in the back. I think I qualified P15/17 or something like that. The run up the mountain was a huge mess, and I got knocked around at Griffins as cars ping ponged across. Across the mountain was also a mess but I managed to stay out of it until the Chase when a bunch of people lost their ****. I'll definitely agree that cars don't ghost in these higher DR races -- I wasn't expecting them to come back on the track as cars I could hit, but there we were. I ended up back in P15 after all the mess, and didn't have the pace to catch up. I spent most of the race with a gap of 15+ seconds in front and behind me, but through attrition finished P11.

I ran the Jag, the Mustang, and the Beetle. The Mustang is better on the straights, the Beetle's gearing is great over the mountain (able to stay in 5th for almost all of it), and the Jag is sort of in the middle. I'm trying the m3 next.

I'd love to get a QT close to the 4s. I'm at a 5.8 right now, and I think if I get a little more aggressive across the top of the mountain, I can do it. The thing is -- I think my races have been going well because I've been focusing on being smooth. So maybe I shouldn't bother that much, haha.

I haven't played all week because the mountain hates me and the more I drive there the more I hate it.

Hopped on to give the Ford GT a go just now and I can't get into the 2:03s.
Every time I'm on a decent lap there's always a bump or a curb that throws me off or I get led astray by the cambered braking zones and catch some grass.

So I figured I'd have a look at what Derek was doing on his lap and it turns out I'm taking the wrong line in (most of) the corners, trying to be too clever with a wide entry late apex approach.

Time to learn this track properly I guess.

Finally got the motivation to do some dailies last night. Qualified 15th for race B, and lasted a whole corner before I was sideswiped off the track, I promptly "retired" the car.

Was going to dedicate the rest of the week to Race C, but then I found out there's two open Forza competitions in Toronto in the coming weeks. From what I've seen, the only combo I can come close to emulating is Laguna Seca with the BMW M6 Gr.3 (Forza uses the M8 GTE). As long as there's no exciting dailies next week, I'll pretty much be exclusively doing hotlaps.

Wish me luck! And if you happen to be going to the Auto Show, holla!
