For me. No fuel saving 2:06, with fuel saving 2:08

I've seen people running 2:06s all race on a no stop. I can't get near that (yet). I need to learn the RC F as that seems to be the tool.

I had a couple of nightmares trying to fuel save in cars like the Huracan, which I now know for me just has to be a flat out one stop car and will do consistent 2:06.

Depending on your race I think you need to be able to react to either. Slow traffic is a killer, battling destroys lap time, slipstream off quick cars is a big bonus. I spent most of yesterday getting punted. No stop was the only way to get some clean air/space.
Megane Trophy might work, as well. Some are saying that you can super shortshift on FM 1 and get away with it.
WRX in 1st seemed to be able to hold its own, but in the race I was in, it was in 1st for a majority of the race, so it had to fuel save even more than me, which sealed its fate.

3rd place was actually doing a 1-stop in the 86 Gr. 4, but he couldn't get past 1st and I, so we foiled his plan.
Either strategy you run, you definitely want to minimize your time battling, as it'll sting you hard in terms of fuel and time.

Yes, I've seen people win off pole on a no-stop using the Trophy. They survived the first corner and cleared off leaving the carnage far behind.

The ring was not a good place for me tonight. I went in with the Aston, thinking the big V8 might be lazy enough to cruise the circuit saving fuel. Boy was I wrong! I was able to qualify with a faster time, but expected to start about the same place as yesterday (P10) or say P12. Was a bit surprised to start P8.

Race starts, not a lot of carnage that I could see, and the people I was racing against were clean. Several side by sides round corners without getting knoked off. Just by circulating and short shifting I was able to get up to P4, then the people who had pitted caught up and lap 7 I was passed by a couple of people, with another right on my tail... then disaster... the fuel warning light started flashing, between that and the extra tyre wear at the front I dropped to P15 when I came out of the pit. Because my tyres had cooled off during pitting, I spun on a kerb and lost a position, finishing P16. Because I'm slow a no pit strategy is the only one that seems to work. But your no pit has to be no pit . Short shifting with the Aston was not enough... you'd need to futs around with fuel mapping... too hard for me during a race :scared:.

Blue SR and Dr down 900 :indiff:. Once again the border guards at the DR/B gate turned me away... my DR/C journey continues .

You all aren’t providing a lot of motivation for me to really learn the Nurb GP with this Race C talk, even though I need to since it’s a frequent flier both in the dailies and FIA.

I should be able to get some wheel time tonight. I’ll probably start at Goodwood and see what happens after. I’ll at least run a few laps at the other tracks. I ended up really like Mt Panorama last week after getting used to the feel of it, so maybe that can happen at the ring too.

Had a half-day yesterday, decided to take on race B & C. Both are really fun although pretty messy. Both races highlighted this all or nothing mentality that I've never understood.

In one of my last races I hung out behind the guy on pole for a lap. They seemed to be doing fine but then ran wide at T1. If they had simply tried to get back on track they probably would have finished the race in 2nd or 3rd. But instead they decided to cut across track to hit me and failed miserably. Missed be my a foot, touched the grass on the inside, lost control again and ended up hitting the person in P3. And in a rare turn of events they were rightfully awarded a 5 second penalty and finished P9. I don't get these people .

On a separate note, I took part in a Forza time trial over the weekend, complete disaster. The combo was a 911RS at Road Atlanta. I felt like I couldn't turn the car without spinning out. The second I touched the wheel the car was facing in the other direction . Also the rig they had set up was kinda small, felt like I was in a Fisher-Price sim rig. Good times!

Edit: the replay!

Apparently Nurburgring GP is a track that I do well at...

I know what feels quick to me around NGP. There's guys way faster than me on any track but at NGP I seem to do well. I was great there 2 weeks ago with the Gr3 cars. Last night, I jumped in with the Lexus RCF and had a go. Q'd with a 2:06.853. Good enough on a Monday evening to start 3rd with the group of people I was matched with.

I had a tremendous race! Got hit on turn one, lap one but no issues. Regained control quickly and the nose was pointed toward turn 2 and I was in 2nd place. A little bit of luck was on my side there. I quickly caught up to the 1st place driver. It was a Mustang. I didn't rush it at all though. 3rd place and beyond were a good few seconds behind me so I had time to race this guy in front of me close and clean but a little bit slow. He seemed to be dealing with cold tires and I was too. Both of us were careful to not overdrive. There was some give and take from both of us as we swapped positions a time or two over the first 2 laps. On lap 3, I drove away from him though. He was caught up by a Megane who would then catch up to me by the end of lap 5 but he ducked into the pits and I tried to do my best Lewis Hamilton "Hammertime" lap while he was pitting because I knew he was fast and it wouldn't be the last time I saw him in this race.

I had a pretty decent lead over second place when I had to pit at the end of lap 6. I got tires and just enough fuel to barely finish the race. I come out of the pits and the guy in the Megane who I knew I'd see again goes by right as I exit the pits. He's in 1st and I'm in 2nd. His tires were warm and mine weren't. I couldn't catch him. Maintained a somewhat steady distance behind him but couldn't catch him. I finished the race second and gained a whopping 1288 DR!!! I was totally happy with that!

Lexus RCF Gr4 is a fantastic car for this race. Good powerband and great handling. The rear end of the car wants to slightly oversteer coming off the brakes. I never went past -2/+1. -2 gives a bit of understeer but juuuuust a little oversteer coming off the brakes. -1 and 0 felt the same, pretty ballanced. +1 added a tad bit more oversteer but still controllable. I don't have a lot of experience with this car. I drove it a few times at Spa when Gr4 B race dailies were there some weeks back but this race last night was the first time I noticed how good that car is. Obviously, C races will expose things on a car that a B race will not.

Yamigawa has been good to me finally!

Did a few races from the back at Nurburgring on my second account today. Also ran into a certain @Schalkehelmi ;) Good fun for the most part save for a couple idiots. I'm in the Citroen, still not convinced that the Megane Trophy is the fastest car for the combo.

Yesterday evening only one attempt with the Vantage in Kyoto: Started 4th, avoided all demolition sites and finished 1st with a 3s gap.

Today two B‘s with the F-Type: The first one pulled me into penalty and SR Hell. 2 seconds for bumping into somebodys trunk in lap 1 (no loss of control, nothing). Then another 2s for staying tight inside in Muellenbach-Loop. Mégane outside got nothing (and no, I did not divebomb into the turn. There was just slight contact between us but, again, no loss of control etc. Started 4th and finished 15th with 1000 DR loss and 5 SR loss.

Second attempt put me on Pole. I was passed at Haug-Hook in Lap 2 and since my door Number was 6 I focused on staying clean instead of fighting. I Was passed by a Mégane at Warsteiner-Curve in Lap 8, but my F-Type was quick in the slipstream. I tried to pass him approaching NGK-chicane and slightly bumped im at the fast Hatzenbach-Kink (again, no serious contact) and GOT A ****ING 2 SECONDS!!11:censored: However I got 700 DR and all SR back.

Now don‘t get me wrong: the penalties I got were justified but not their length. I‘d like us all here to start a drinking game: Everytime somebody gets an unjustified Penalty (really unjustified, not just felt like) she or he has a Blutwurz shot before entering the next race (local spiritous beverage here in the Bavarian Forest, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blutwurz ).

That would be interesting.

Race C is a lot of fun!
Did one race B, started from P15 beacuse I didn't run a qualy lap (or not an actual competitive one ).
Saw all of the carnage unfold, didn't have the pace either, also it's pretty much a Supra and GT-R one make. I don't like either of those cars (Turbocharged cars are a little too tail happy for me ) so I don't think it'll be a Race that I'll run a lot.

Race C is awesome!
Close and fun racing, I tried the F-Type (what else? :dopey:) only managed one stops for fuel, others were doing one stops as well.
In Race 1, started 6th finished 3rd.
Race 2, started 8th and finished 1st .
Will try other cars tomorrow, maybe even do a no stop, who knows?

Yamagiwa is my favorite track in this game, but I'm sick of it being a Supra-fest every single time Gr. 3 runs here! :grumpy: I'll probably cave and use it towards the end of the week, but just once I want to race my Corvette and not get gapped by a Meta during the daily races...

I’ve completely abandoned the 1 stop idea after it totally backfired on me that one race. No stopping the Megane is super easy to do.

For the Megane I go 100% for laps 1-2 then shift early but not crazy short shifting. I’m only shifting maybe 1500rpms sooner but I’m focusing on momentum which helps. I usually run lap 7 on FM 2 and then back to 1 the rest of the race and cruise it home.

With that strategy I’m doing consistent low 2:06’s and a race time of 19:09.

Avoid the META while accepting you will probably not win but laugh about people using it because they think this car has some magic abilities not requiring any driving skills.

Try the NSX. Might not be the fastest car here, but it's definitely fun to drive... and doesn't understeer like crazy.
