Where do the red 20 sec penalties occur? At the Hatch.

Come 3rd and then get shunted back 3 places and you aren't told why, even when you have had no normal penalties during the race.

You have to use all three compounds. :)

For the guy earlier in the thread who said it wasn’t displayed clearly enough. ;)

Just another example of impatience. They feel they are a little faster and go for it.
The second effect is (I guess) that you start further back when you're going up. That has always spelled trouble.

Speaking of trouble, if you see 666 behind you, you would want to get out of the way.

You might be right, it's really a bummer, I have a relatively decent quali time at BH, so im normally top 5ish, cause I've spent forever improving and learning the track.

But you know, being punted, kills my life especially when I'm pushed into dirt And get a penalty.

Sven is right. The current system will penalize the person on the outside if there is a side collision.

So, like it or not, this is what it means:
1. If someone is close behind you, you have to hug the inside of the turn.
2. If you're close behind someone, feel free to dive bomb them, because if any penalty is issued, it will be them who gets it.

I know, it's backwards. But that's our current reality. :indiff:

Well I'll be a monkeys uncle.

Yes I did notice the TYRE requirement however thought it meant you can only choose between these 3 tires.

And it just cost me a 2nd place, for good measure.

Must admit I was curious why those in the lead sometimes chose Medium tires instead of Soft. Now I know.

Thanks everyone for showing me what a dill I was.

I'm normally not a fan of Brands, what with the extreme punishment for dropping even one wheel in the grass; but in a 14 lap race below top split you can afford to drive 'conservatively' taking Sheen curve a few mph slower and giving up 2 tenths a lap trusting your fellow racers will bottle it... have finished 4th and 1st so far with this strategy, not complaining.

This game is the opposite of Lee Dungarees. It's busted. Had a great race C going, started 17th moved up to 6th on lap 5. Guy behind me decides to follow too close and brake too late on the right hander at the top of the hill and I go into the sandbox. Darn. Get going again and I'm in very aggressive non-selfaware traffic. I then get dive bombed at the hairpin from the guy who qualified second, I get a 2 second penalty, I lose my cool and send him to the shadow realm. Yea, think I'll focus on FIA and not much more.

I wish I read this before I raced tonight. Would have helped me out. :gtpflag:

And if you hug the inside, they'll just punt you square in the rear and send you off track. Whether they dive up your inside and touch you and give you a penalty, or just fire you straight into the Shadow Realm, they don't get a penalty. You'd think the staff at PD had never seen a real race before.

So, yesterday after some beers with my work colleagues decided to have some races in the evening.

Two races, finished 9th and 3rd and got back to 32.3k - highest DR ever.

Today, as I am working from home had the brilliant idea to do 3 races before starting to work. Had to remind me to not do that again, I think I have seen the dirtiest races since I started with GTS.

Great combination of A+, A and B drivers + the occasional A racer starting from the back + different speeds and strategies = complete mayhem. I have seen dirty moves all around me, deliberate punts, push to pass, brake checks, side punting, **** penalties. Beat my record of seconds gained in a single corner - 4s going through a ghost car spawned in front of me + 2s caused by somebody divebombing me in the hairpin + 0.5s for exceeding track limits when trying to keep the car steady after + 5s from the crash into the wall caused by dirty tires...

I think this is the worst combination possible, the A+ are very aggressive by default, then we have fast quali B drivers who want to win the race in the first 3 corners + the extra motivation to show the higher split drivers how fast they are - this resulting usually with them in the sand, in many cases taking another innocent victim with them.

A particular case was interesting, German driver at the border of B/A, he is usually very fast in quali - as I have seen him before. He put a 1.21.6 on Brands, started in front of me all 3 races. I don't think he lasted 3 laps in each race without going to the sand then started to punt everything in sight. I don't understand this type of behaviour, he could be way better driving conservative and with common sense, probably A+ as he can be very fast.

Hopefully in the evening there will be more clean players available... :)

Oh boy, tried to give race C a go again. First race went really well. Passes back and forth, lots of crashing, but no punting that i could see. Maybe a few racing line and corner bumps, but nothing that looked purposeful or actually dirty. Had a blast. Tried a second time. Some muppet with a Senna fanboy type message as his welcome is directly behind me. He is beside me in warm up, he is on softs, me on hards. :banghead::banghead: I think we know where this goes.

I actually pull away exiting until Surtees, when I accidentally leave about half a car width open on entry. Yup, blast! End up facing backwards in the sand before reset. Dead last by 3 seconds and now with a 4 second penalty for apparently forcing him to punt me or some such. I recover a bit, but only get to 13th in the field of 18. As it was a lobby I was going to have a hard time keeping up full pace all race with anyway. Having a 7 sec deficit to overcome doesn't help. Also got to see the POS who hit me quit lap 2 as they crashed.

I did have a good back and forth with a guy from the previous race for a while though so not all bad. He did beat me both times:lol:

Off to the livery editor, i hate racing half the race on my own, and at the back.

Jumped in a non-RCZ. Dropped my Supra time by one second. Started 5th. Got hit exiting at1. Fell to around 9th. Got a penalty twice. Finished 6th.

Edit: Lowered it a touch more. There iare a pesky OyVeyron and RC Z that keep holding me up. I lost places and got a penalty to avoid them.

From my personal observation/expierence friday evenings are the worst for racing... Agressiv and stupid drivers crawl out of their caves at this time:) Monday mornings are best. Fast players are in work, kids are in school, and people are learning new track/car combo so they are more cautios...

I might be wrong but I don't think we've seen a SF race outside of the Japan based tracks so far. This Saturdays Nations race seems to be the first break from that at Monza. Whether or not that has any bearing on next weeks daily race I don't know.

Would love for it to be the SF as I really enjoy driving that car. It has also been a while since we've seen the X2019.

In short, I'm also guessing

Had good results last week with big willow picking up around 12k in Dr to put myself in to the 60k mark for the first time the that got wiped out by multiple fia disconnects on Saturday but I’ve found brands is working just as well for me with over 4K in dr so far , no wins but solid results in top 5 every race.

last night thou I cam across a particular Portuguese that was rather salty with me ,I won’t name and shame but for first 5 laps he dive bombed me multiple times bumped me in to the hairpin and at no point did he attempt to pass me cleanly if I hadn’t of been aware he would of wiped me out multiple times.
So after 5 laps of him using me as a brake I had enough and on approach to druids I sent it up the inside cleanly and he turns in to me trying get me a penalty and deliberately drives off track too didn’t work thou he just planted himself in the barrier I went on to finish 2nd he finished last.

so next race he types in the chat box let’s see you finish this race when he starting directly behind me in 3rd race starts he try’s to punt me but I see it coming and jink to a left quickly and he back in his spiritual home the gravel trap and instantly quits .... karma works in funny ways in this game

Is there anything close to the rcz and veyron? The rcz is quick and pulled away from the cars i tried the other day but its not really my style. And im not driving the yacht lol
Saw a 'Stang come second ahead of at least one RCZ in a recent race.

I was going 1H/7M/6S in the Mazda last night, BB+2, the early pit pays off pretty well on the last few laps. :)
I've been running 1H/S 'til they're stuffed/M to finish with some success. Softs are lasting 6-8 laps, depending how many times I'm punted. Edit: driving the Lexus '17 BB+1
