This needs to be sent to PD for them to explain why YOU got the penalty?

If ever a replay shows what is wrong with the current system, it's this!!!!
I wonder if the penalty was for 'pushing' the other car wide and that it was awarded (very) late, the same way that penalties at le Sarthe, leading onto the Mulsanne Straight often appear long after you think you have escaped one? Not saying it's right or fair, just a suggestion. But it's clearly crazy either way.

Had another 2nd, 5th (fast room, not too dirty) 3rd (very dirty could have won). Had a great moment coming into T2. Guy tries time dive bomb at the last sec. I brake a touch early coming into the turn while watching my mirror, saw him dive at high speed so I stayed wide with a super late apex. He reached the apex expecting me to be there for brakes Lololol. Flew right off. It’s the little things.

EDIT: LOL just got called garbage because the guy I overtook for P2 into the hairpin, we were side by side from the prior corner, I’m inside, tries to force me off track. He messed up on exit and spun. Dude you did that to yourself with that bogus move. Has the nerve to direct message me lol.

Had a great race C last night with the Cayman.
Qualified 7th and was dismayed to see I had numero uno on the door in a room of all B S drivers, but nursed the tires early and managed to work through the field to come home in 2nd and score a healthy 1,020 DR with some great clean little jousts along the way.
As always the Porsche is really nimble and brakes great while still being pretty reasonable on the tires.

Did 1 more on Alt and it was A+/A/B/S managed to get up to 4th or 5th from 18th. Great fun race, ended up I think 7sec down from 1st.

Knowing the room was a solid group I switched to my main account. Started P2 on first race and just chilled behind 1st for 4 laps allowing us to build a gap and save my tires. Then he made a error coming onto the straight so I grabbed the inside and took him in T1 and gradually built up a gap before P3 got past P2 and started putting pressure on me, still 4sec gap. Upped my pressure and built the gap to 7sec at the end.

Race 2 on main started P1, got a run out of T1 and broke the draft which was key. Then did 1:39.6-.8 till the end with a 14sec lead. Total time was 18:21. Honestly would have had more fun racing from the back on that one.

Got to try race A. Race C is impossible for me. Total warzone with no prisoners. Had 1 decent race where I got up to p7, but last race was up to p9 when I got push passed nearly every turn for about 2 laps. Finished p15. No penalties. I am not fast enough to deal with this. I struggle enough with heavy B lobbies, every one tonight is at least half A and I am just getting left behind.

Here's a video of the last couple of laps from my race this morning. The Spaniard (who I may slightly identify in the video!) was defending like this ALL race, and had the nerve to call the Frenchman who ran him off on the final turn dirty!

Just wondering, you guys always post very clear videos, and mine are always crap quality! Is there something I can do in settings or is it effectively because my PS4 is old?!

Frenchman waited far too long, I would destroy him lap earlier, but like I sad yesterday, I must work on anger management:)

I've tried doing quali and I've tried sitting it out and starting from the back.
Either way the best bet is to try and avoid the idiots on the opening lap and then put pressure on the other drivers on lap 2.
Ultimately they end up making a mistake and you pick up more places.
Patience is key.

Also got some revenge in on some drivers who cleaned me out of it on the opening lap,
cause it has to be done.

The penalty system is great for making new tactics. In Race B you will meet plenty of 911 cars. Always always stay on the inside, never let them or other cars have a free punt.

On the exit they have to take a chance that you are a clean driver or back out. Leaving them behind you again. And thanks to the broken penalty system very few is ready to go for it..

Bonus info, use a fast car so that they can't slip stream you

Explains all the McLaren F1s.

I've already won a bunch of the A races from the back. The old Camaro is pretty fun. Might be worth a try.

Tried the Camaro races.
Was running P2 and then got punted off twice on the final laps.
Might try again later.

5 second penalty for being shunted into the wall!!!

I’ve really noticed that in a good room if I’m doing well it’s very meditative, at this track...I may not be quite at your pace, but close at least...Anyways everything’s so slow and calm and the whole track flows brilliantly...Man, when you can trust those around you it’s so calming, and so funny when you see racers SNAP and go nuclear. They don’t realize how easy it can be to make them look even more foolish.
I dunno what it is about Interlagos, but it can be one of the best in game.
Meditative. The less you do with the controls the slower you use them the lower the times get.
It’s groovy. From last you feel like a pool hustler sometimes when things are clicking...

Nah, there's no way the system waits 15+ seconds to give a penalty. As you know, if you go wide at that corner, a cutting track penalty is awarded as you hit the straight.

The penalty was definitely given for getting hit by the car that was attempting to take them out. It's even more nonsensical when you see the direction the perp was taking. Madness!!!!

Race C. If you bump people, gently, when they park on an apex, you get a penalty?

I've just had 35 SR off in once race because someone kept parking on an apex and I'd tap them. This is weird and not something I'd seen before. When I punted him off, no pen?!

Having to drive the Lancer for a couple of races just to be super defensive to recover my SR.

Had this yesterday with a ghosted car that came back on the track, as I got to the apex of the corner, they cut me off just as they became solid. The slightest of taps on their rear; SR down for me. Penalty system is still too weird this week.

:)

I know I run amazing pink liveries and it’s tempting to want to touch them, but the power puff girls don’t like getting scratches on them

100% the flow is fantastic. Guys think we’re braking early, no that’s the key to speed here is not braking last second but keeping a flow. It’s very easy to lose tons of time at Interlagos if you drop out of the flow by pushing too hard.

It’s also a great challenge for passing, but there are a few great spots to pass, and a few great ways to set people up to be exactly where you want them to be.

I had this happen to me in a race from the back. Through turn one bumper to bumper and on exit I grazed his bumper, talking so light you wouldn’t have even left a scratch, barely even felt it in my FFB......that will be a 2 second penalty sir. I actually laughed at how absurd it was vs guy slamming into each other with no penalty.

It’s not perfect, but way better than the other week.

I did a race C with the 4C since it did me well last time. Wrong car, wrong tires, wrong room. For some reason I started on IM tires again :banghead:. I started 19th so didn't even have the luxury to brake early for T1, 4C on IM goes sideways through T1, at least I ghosted while keeping the car in a controlled slide so 20th could simply drive through me without knocking me off.

I passed a couple wrecks in T whatever the one with the endless run off is. So had to be careful again not to get rammed off while trying to keep the car from spinning out. I made it to the pit in one piece! So firmly in last I 'start' the race. I'm not really catching up, mostly A/S room, my pace in the 4C was woeful, 1:43. But I still caught up with a couple fighters. One escaped, the other decided to slow down on the straight to wait for me to ram me off before quitting.... At least I didn't get a penalty.

So back to driving well behind, which is where I stayed and got timed out a couple hundred meters before the finish line. No thanks. Too boring which will only turn into dirty crap when I catch up. The winner, A+/S with red connection and 527ms ping. Bad internet makes you faster!
sorry too say Race c is slowing turning into 1 make (megane trophy) car will do 11 laps np very little wear on right front I dnt do that well in general with GR4 but have 4 wins in 5 races with this car. Evo starts too fade around lap 7 and can not keep the pace with the mengane

WRX slightly better on tyre wear than the Lancer for me. Both are more stable in the midfield battles than something like the GT86. I'm going to try a few other things as the CRB is the priority, rather than the wins. The way some people battle over every position at every corner regardless of context is mental.

WRX got my best result even with a pitstop

I ran 4 Race Cs on the ALT today. P3, P2, P1, P1. I ran one or two laps to set a QT and have been working my way through the field for the most part. My alt is now B/S after gaining 6000DR. The Megane is certainly the car to use IMO, although I had a great battle with an 86. It's just quicker on the straight away than the Alfa, and that makes up for it's tires not being as awesome.

My first win of the day came on after a 7 lap battle with P2. We went back and forth over those laps 3 or 4 times. We both were better at catching the other than taking off. I passed him the last time on the final lap, and he got a great run coming back up the straight. He nipped me by .025 seconds, but had taken a limits penalty on the last lap to take a 1 second penalty at the finish. Great, great fun. When this game is right, it's right.

The second win was a bit of a snoozer. I took the lead lap 3-4 and built a 10 second gap and the coasted. Now that I have the alt to SR 99, I kinda wish I could take away my qualifying time.

I had Thunderball pop up in my playlist today. 👍

That’s a good tune...Could totally imagine popping that in at low volume in race...
I just never truly realized how little you need to do with the Mustang or any car really to get Interlagos flow....Braking man Deadpool explained it so well...You’re not slamming and engaging abs, gently gently, don’t squeal the tires... steering feeeed it in eeeeeasy the Stang almost has a slightly delayed response. I’d call it almost lazy but it grips damn strong ...I’ve not really tapped into that in a while correctly, too often I overdrive on entry and end up out of balance or wonky...but driving behind some of the faster people with a relaxed attitude about things just enjoying the track you learn a lot..It’s just an enjoyable overall experience and I dunno maybe I’m kinda trippin but I wanna get me some more!

Had a go at race A after getting rumbled in race C and I can say the Camaro is a fun thing to drive. It helps that I practiced a lot with Tesla last week. Not necessarily zooming up the field but holding my own well at least. Was at 4 CRB until the last race when I got pinged off a corner cut somewhere in the esses. But that seems like BS as I still got a CRB at interlagos with a track limit penalty, although I cut because I was rammed through. Also got a CRB the race A before even though one 🤬 pushed me wide into the wall there. Oh well. Going to have to do some hot laps to relearn interlagos to try and get better as well as keep smoking the rears in A.

And putting it into Reverse doesnt help your start. Made that mistake 1 race but recovered anyway.

I did that yesterday. I guess I bumped the L2 button, which is my down-shifter. :dunce:

Now, here's a funny clip. This is some of the worst lag I've seen. @Sven Jurgens, you'll probably appreciate this. Check out the Argentinian starting 5th, in the green car.
First you'll see what he looks like from my perspective, then from his car's perspective, which is really funny.

After thinking about it, I kinda feel sorry for him, because he didn't see any of that on his TV, and probably thought everyone was smashing the hell out of him for no reason. But, in reality, none of us actually knew where his car was on the track.
He may be telling his friends right that GT Sport sucks, because everyone is a jerk.
Perception is reality. 💡

Had a crack at race A cause I love it when they put these old cars in. Unfortunately though the race was a procession from start to finish.

Might give race C a go today. Quarantine and all.

Well the disc drive in my PS4 died a death. So now I’m down to digital games only. Which at this point is GT Sport, Dirt Rally 2, and the new Doom. That should be ok for quarantine I guess. :)
