Just got a podium with the 86. It's slow as molasses but it's great on tires. Good enough for 3rd and no points lost. Door number was 18....Yay!![]()
I think this is a really good example of how the penalty system has been improved.
I started at the back of race A, and made a bunch of easy passes on lap 1 because a lot of people crashed. By the end of lap 2, I made it to 2nd place. The leader was about 4 seconds ahead, and I was reeling him in.
On the final lap, I was getting pretty close, and could see that he had to serve a 0.5 track limit penalty.
Watch the ridiculous way he decided to handle his demise, which by the way had nothing to do with me (he failed miserably)
I don't think it's a huge deal if people are going to do that sort of stuff. I'll respond accordingly, and can usually even things out.
My point to all of this, is that if this incident happened a week ago, I'm positive I would have been penalized, and the jerk would've won. So, in that sense, I guess things are a little bit better now. 👍
Also for c race. Not only did I use the 86 I used tcs 3.
It’s a major lifesaver when you never know who might snap towards the end of the race and rampage...IMO getting into it with people is far riskier running alfresco. Also staying on the driving line no one ever admits to using helps tire wear. Tonight I will run either a mustang or a Megane
I believe his 5 second penalty was for crashing into the wall. 👍I can’t remember seeing that lately...Contact, car off, car off given the penalty.
I generally use TCS 2 with the 86, but it seemed a bit more intrusive today. Tried TCS 3 and it was a lot cleaner and didn't bog the car down as much. TCS 3 seems the way to go.
Race C Interlagos
I entered the race not really having a strategy and when I did my pit stop I noticed that NO ONE else pitted
But it went to be a cracking race as I was catching up the field to get back to my original position.
It was fun.
Try setting a solid qualifying time and choosing the correct tires and I think you'll have a much more enjoyable experience. I was lucky enough to grab 2 wins last night in the mustang by qualifying in the top 5 and just waiting for the leaders to kamikaze each other.I did a race C with the 4C since it did me well last time. Wrong car, wrong tires, wrong room. For some reason I started on IM tires again. I started 19th so didn't even have the luxury to brake early for T1, 4C on IM goes sideways through T1, at least I ghosted while keeping the car in a controlled slide so 20th could simply drive through me without knocking me off.
I passed a couple wrecks in T whatever the one with the endless run off is. So had to be careful again not to get rammed off while trying to keep the car from spinning out. I made it to the pit in one piece! So firmly in last I 'start' the race. I'm not really catching up, mostly A/S room, my pace in the 4C was woeful, 1:43. But I still caught up with a couple fighters. One escaped, the other decided to slow down on the straight to wait for me to ram me off before quitting.... At least I didn't get a penalty.
So back to driving well behind, which is where I stayed and got timed out a couple hundred meters before the finish line. No thanks. Too boring which will only turn into dirty crap when I catch up. The winner, A+/S with red connection and 527ms ping. Bad internet makes you faster!
I've already won a bunch of the A races from the back. The old Camaro is pretty fun. Might be worth a try.I did a race C with the 4C since it did me well last time. Here's a video of the last couple of laps from my race this morning. The Spaniard (who I may slightly identify in the video!) was defending like this ALL race, and had the nerve to call the Frenchman who ran him off on the final turn dirty!
Just wondering, you guys always post very clear videos, and mine are always crap quality! Is there something I can do in settings or is it effectively because my PS4 is old?!

Hearing everyone else's reports from race C I see I am not alone in the disaster fest going there. Might have to for race A myself. Done ok with the 4C myself, but that is in the last few laps as everyone loses tires. Lap 1 to 3 i keep getting punted off so starting from way behind. Best clean race i had was starting in the back and getting trounced but having some clean racing.
Good evening friends. Tonight I entered the C race twice, both times from dead last. I utilized my A S account and dressed the Mustang up for the occasion in a stunning pink livery adorned with power puff girl decals for race one.
It looked glorious!
I was unable to get towards the front however due to a pack of cars fighting and traveling slowly because of that,
By the time I was able to get by them all cleanly there was little hope of improving my tenth place.
For my second entry I decided to change clothes into a beautiful gold wrap adorned with movie characters someone shared.
This was a clean race bonus!
I honestly dunno what to say except it was the most fun I’ve had in this game in a long long time...
I did battle with a highly skilled and clean Canadian who chose to pilot an Alfa Romeo.
It was a fantastic race in which we moved through the field together cleanly...
Whoever you are thanks man that’s the most fun I’ve had in gts in a long long time!
Since beginning of week, I've had so much fun at Interlagos. I've tried Porsche, Ferrari and lately 4C after following great video guide from @Mistah_MCA
Yesterday evening, I set a good lap time of 1:38:5XX with the Mitsubishi (i believe i can improve it and get close to 1:38) and then done at least 4 races with the 4C. Yes, you get bullied a bit the first part of the race... but i tried to keep it consistent and then finished strong at the end while other drivers are struggling with tires (exceot 4C or Megane). Last race i finished 2nd trying to keep the pace with a fast Australian driver in his Megane.... I was able to maintain between 1:39:500 to 1:40:500 pace 75% of the race.
Yesterday day, some dirty moves yes, but overall very enjoyable week so far. Went from 27K to 34K so far. Improtant - Set a good qualifying time!
I might give it a go to the Toyota 86. I raced with couple of guys in their 86 and i couldn't keep up and catch them up. Might be another option! What would you use as Brake Balance for the Toyota for Interlagos?
Enjoy!
Today I had fun on my alt, TPC_Megatrone in Race C all day from the back. There has been good races. My highest was 4th at this point. I almost had 3rd but I messed up braking T1 on the last lap. Since I’m on vacation from work (no, covid-19 is not stopping that). I’ll be racing more.
Other races I had fools like these. I have more coming lol.

I wonder if the penalty was for 'pushing' the other car wide and that it was awarded (very) late, the same way that penalties at le Sarthe, leading onto the Mulsanne Straight often appear long after you think you have escaped one? Not saying it's right or fair, just a suggestion. But it's clearly crazy either way. This needs to be sent to PD for them to explain why YOU got the penalty?
If ever a replay shows what is wrong with the current system, it's this!!!!
