That punt into Pouhon is outrageous. You're off the brake for ages prior to contact and it's obvious what's happening. Good to see the penalty system is still broken.

As above, once you've missed the braking point for the chicane you just broadside the guy infront and then steer into them three times, even though steering left at that point would just take you off track. WTF.

On the first point, panic braking at that point on Pouhon would eventually send me spinning in this car. I figured they were both going to end up side by side, not the undercut, since I did it in the previous race (see video below). I was already going slower than usual and by the time he cut across I was committed. Still my fault, not making excuses, but the only other option would have been to not attack at all.



On the second point, I didn't miss my braking point. My blood was boiling from the previous race when I was rammed from behind, and the driver directly in front of me had hit me at the start of the race. I didn't know he had been hit at the time, but i figured if he left even an inch on the inside i was going to go for it. I didn't punt him into oblivion like what happened to me in the video above, I just decided I wasn't going to sit back this race.

Not sure if sarcasm or not. If you've been watching my other videos you would know this is highly uncharacteristic of my style. I've maintained an SR99 since I started except for the occasional night where the penalty system faults me for something I didn't do. But after participating in half a dozen races that end like the link above, you get tired of it and start racing right to the edge of what's acceptable. There are a few drivers at the front of this daily race that respect each other and we all race clean...but then there are a few that start hitting you and it goes south real fast.

it was the white car that hit you in turn 1, not the black car that you punted in to oblivion on lap 3.

Hard to see in the video, but the white car was punted by the black car into me. I checked the actual replay after talking with the driver of the black car and apologizing.

That pass on lap one of the blue/white spotted car... that was an assassination, not an overtake. What an absolutely obscene "race" - and to come out of it with a blue S!

I had 3/4 overlap before we passed the braking cone marker, I was 3/4 past him before the apex, and I had speed adjusted to give him room on exit before his nose turned into my my rear bumper. Aggressive? Yes. Assassination? No. I honestly think it it was an ill-timed crossover based on how hard he turned in.

And gave him a penalty for it, judging by how he falls down the order approaching Les Combes.

Off the grid you just drove across the track left to right with no regard whatsoever for there being a car there, and carried on even after contacting that car. People cannot just vanish, and if you keep trying to drive into bits of road where there are already cars you will keep on being involved in crashes. Turn your radar on.


And as for the final chicane as pointed out by @Stotty, my word. That's as indefensible as it gets. PD needs to use this video to improve its SR and penalty detection systems, because there is no way someone involved in four clear punts in three laps should be getting to the end of a race without a penalty and with an improved, top-ranked Sportsmanship Rating.

Uhh no, he didn't get a penalty for it. It doesn't look like I didn't take care because his nose unsettled my car and I had to correct for it. He could have run along side me...and if I don't go for a move when I have overlap and the inside line, I might as well not race at all.

But yes, off the grid I miss-judged where my rear bumper was, I didn't want to be on the outside because of the carnage. And I should have gotten a penalty for the last chicane no doubt. Honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to penalties being dished out to BOTH drivers when ANY contact occurs. I'd be fine with that, and it would change the way I raced, and it would change who actually gets to SR-99 in this game for sure. But it's not that way, and I can only race clean for so long getting batted around before I decide to just play the game the way my opponents do for a change. After this race, the rest of the night was clean, maybe because got it out of my system, maybe because I was back to SR-99 where I wasn't going to get punted on the first corner.

Smashing other people out of the way isn't racing to start with.

Rather than tapping the guy, then sending it into a dangerous high-speed corner with only one real line, then hitting him clean off the track and carrying on, you had the option of backing out of the throttle, following him through the corner, picking whatever line took your fancy after the corner on the nice wide bit of track leading into the the braking zone for the Bus Stop, and making a clean pass.

Are you sure? You can't see penalties in your mirrors, only if you look back, and once you "passed" (also crowded off the track) the green car we can't see a split any more. He already had a 1s penalty, but fell off on the Kemmel Straight even further (given the same 1s penalty to the drivers in front of you didn't make so much difference), and eventually finished tenth...

Turn your radar on.
 
I've turned into a Volkswagen Beetle driver, bugger :lol:
It seems to the be the only car fast and stable enough to take on the GTR crew.
Tried the Mitsubishi around Kyoto, as that's top time on my friends list, couldn't get within 0.5 sec of my best.
Had a shot in the Peugeot VGT as that's got most of the top times. Managed to beat my best and get it at a tad under .17, just.
Having some great races and then some awful ones but I'm not chasing DR so I let the aggressive drivers get on with it. Can be canny funny watching the carnage. Hitting my target of being in the top 10 90% of the time :cheers:

That's me in the Kinder Surprise beetle, I actually outbraked myself there but luckily held it without hitting anyone. Had a good couple of races in that lobby, it was mostly really clean.

That brake check karma though.. brought a tear of joy to my eye.

Worst case you'd have had to understeer onto the astroturf and run off.

If there were any negative consequences to doing it, you wouldn't have done it.

Per @Famine above, PD need to look at that race and think about how that can be a blue S.

You may not have meant to run him off the track, but you didn’t pull over and wait for him after doing so either. If you run someone off my mistake, you pull over and make sure he’s in front of you before continuing on, regardless of how many other positions it costs you to do so.

I don't need it to know someone's beside me. If they aren't in front of me, they aren't behind me, they are beside me and I will leave 1+ car widths from the racing line from entry until exit. This can be seen in my other videos where I end up battling for an extra corner or two because I don't cross over until I know for sure the other driver is behind me. The radar is for people still driving on the roof of their car.

100% correct, and if you want that kind of racing you'll never get it in this game or from this company. Go to iRacing if that's the experience you are after. As long as PD has a ****** penalty and rating system, drivers are going to have to pick a race here and there that they play catch up with the misdeeds of the system. If drivers gets punted and lose multiple positions every other race, they're going to take greater risks with passing to make those spots up the next chance they get.

Great rule, if everyone adhered to it. In all my years of playing this game and getting punted and side swiped several times a night, I've only seen drivers do this at most a handful of times. If I recognize the driver name from previous races, I'll wait, but most of the time I just keep driving and see if they get back to my bumper and when/if they do, I lift mid-way down the next straight and let them go by. What really sucks is when you yield to them and they insist on ramming you anyway.

So HM in the race requirements means hard AND medium, and not hard OR medium.
When the race starts it says only hard though.
 
I'm hoping (as always) it's the F1500T for next week's Race C, but that might be too quick for a 15-lap race at Laguna. While PD has obviously been lacking in original thought as of late, Super Formula doesn't seem like a car they'd repeat so soon after they ran it at Spa. It's usually only the truly boring cars they insist on repeating.

I wonder what car it could be then. Maybe it'll be either a Ford MK. IV, Ferrari 330 P4, or the Jag XJ13. One can dream...but it'll probably be a VGT.

You start on the tires you used for Qualifying (by default I believe it’s Hards) so you have to change to Mediums... You can change your start tires before you enter the Qualifying part (change the fronts first) and if you start on Mediums, you have to change at some point during the race to Hards... In the Gr3 race this week, a lot of people are running for example, 3 laps on Mediums, pit and do 3 more laps on new mediums, pit and change for 2 laps on Hards... It depends on your strategy for the race... But yes, when it says HM, it’s mandatory to use both types of race tires and if you don’t, you get a time penalty at the end of the race.

Ignoring the deliberate 'revenge' punt in Pouhon, you drove into the side of other cars as if they weren't there three times in that video. You did it right from the start, which you said you "misjudged" where the car was. The radar would have stopped that.

Though it may not have, considering you continued to drive into the car that was there after the first contact, until he hit the pitwall or braked.

The radar is for people who don't seem to realise that there are cars alongside and keep driving into them as if they aren't. Like you did three times in that three-lap video (and on a previous video at Alsace in the 208s, also right at the start of the race).

I can't come on here and complain about other drivers when I'm guilty of the same tactics from time to time, so here you go. I saw the battle, I took a slightly slower than normal approach to the apex, but I suppose I was expecting them to remain 2-wide through the entire arc of the turn, I did not expect the under-cut and by the time it played out, I looked like the schmuck ramming him off. I'll sleep fine though, because the driver that got side swiped was the one who caused me to spin out at the beginning of the race.

You made a bad start, pulled in and simply blocked the car that made a good start, you even made contact, the same car then brakes and just avoids spinning you, he then gets hit from behind from another car AND THANKS TO THAT HE HITS YOU and causes you to spin, by NO fault of his own. You then proceed to take revenge on him and another innocent driver, for absolutely no reason.

You should message these people and say I AM SORRY and the next time you race, be positive and drop the Judge Dredd attitude until you see the replay..

Give the M3 a try. Pretty rapid and easy on the tires. Turn in isn't as sharp as the EVO, but it's pretty handy around here.
