You have to be a cheeky bugger in race C, sometimes you get away with it!
Looking for some critique for this move:
I had a good run on him from the last corner, and I was trying to pick the inside or the outside line depending on what he did.
To me it looked like he moved 3 times to cover both in/out lines. Obviously my fault since I'm the one going for the move, but I felt his defending was over the top. He said he was avoiding the car in front, but that car was going straight.
On lap 1 he came from way further back on the inside on this hair pin, hit my car as I got out of his way, and passed me. But that didn't cloud my judgement here.
But honestly, this ISN'T your very first win, EVER, is it?
Unfortunate for the other guy, but it was clearly accidental. Nothing to feel guilty about there.
After the race, there should have been an "I'm sorry", followed by a "No problem". That's all.
If you're a good enough driver to stay on the track and avoid the collisions, you deserve the resulting DR gains.Last week, I said I was surprised by how clean the races were in my first days racing online. Now, I have to make a complete 180: these drivers are wild.
I've gained almost all of my positions in Race B from the cars in front running wide or crashing into another car. Is that a viable way to improve my DR? Can't help feeling that's not the case, seeing as my best laps are also 2 seconds slower than the podium placers...
It is pretty interesting, the specs on SF vs IndyCar are extremely close, but Laguna Seca is notoriously dusty and hard on tires and I'm not sure that's replicated well in GTSport, and Racing Mediums are probably a lot stickier than whatever Indy runs. The combination of the two is likely worth the full 5 seconds or more considering how much of the lap is corners. Was curious to see how the IndyCar compared to the SuperFormula as I think this is the first track in the game that IndyCar has raced at, so I checked the pole time from 2019 which ended up being a 1:10.1 by Colton Herta which is about 5s off the world record for Race C this week. Of course this does need to be taken with a pinch of salt due to game physics, track conditions and also potential differences in the tyre compounds, but thought it was an interesting comparison nonetheless.
It definitely makes a huge difference if you're using mini-stick or motion steer. Not sure about d-pad steering. With the slider all the way to the right the car steering very closely follows the actual controller inputs. With the slider all the way left the game will eventually match the controller inputs but builds up to them slowly.
If you're not accustomed to making gradual inputs, having the slider to the left will compensate for hamfisted "slam it to full lock" inputs that would otherwise overwhelm the front tyres, but will make steering response in tight chicanes too slow and may make it difficult to correct oversteer if you have stability control and countersteer assistance turned off. If you're good at making smooth gradual inputs on the controller when required, moving the slider to the right will give you more precise control (after a short adjustment period).

If you post a video, plenty of people here will try to help you with it. I'm not really good with that combo, but some of these people are. 👍I’m struggling a lot on Race B, by the time the end of the first sector, I’m already down 2+ seconds to the leaders on the rankings and I’m guessing is just coming from the first couple of corners... But, no idea where I could get 2 full seconds from
I guess this week will be back to B level
Try downloading their ghosts, you can offset it by a few tenths to see what they're doing. I haven't tried it this week but usually at Magiore you can get away with a lot more corner cutting than you would expect.I’m struggling a lot on Race B, by the time the end of the first sector, I’m already down 2+ seconds to the leaders on the rankings and I’m guessing is just coming from the first couple of corners... Good morning gentelmen. Yesterday was bitter sweet for me. Sweet thing is that I win two Cs, and got A rating again. It was also nice to see mister @das89ca in one of them. Bitter thing is that Nations went badly, Q11 finished 16th. Dropped 2 places in Poland from 35 to 37.
Yes I see something bad happened to you, I saved replay but didnt watch it yet, I was thinking that someone pushed you off track. So its good and bad to read that it was your mistakeIt was nice to see you too. I was hoping to make that race a challenge and fight you for the win after fast going up to 3rd from starting 5th - but I messed up at the fast left hander at the base of the hill and it was all downhill from there.
In other words - Laguna Seca was very good to me. I raised my DR from 24k to 33k in two days, as I avoided the Nations Cup race yesterday. Now I have to a break from the SF19 car as I have the Manufacturer Cup races today where I struggle with the Alfa after the patch.
From what I have been learning as I have been joining sport mode races this last year is that N class cars are entirely different beasts to drive. Instead of aero, downforce and racing tires you have to learn to manage steering using throttle, weight transfer and how to manipulate things to maintain momentum. Entirely different way to drive and I know I am only just starting to catch on. I like having them as if really does push all around driving.Good morning gentelmen. Yesterday was bitter sweet for me. In gr1, gr2 and grX like SF or RBJr Im preety fast and can keep up or even win with A drivers, but when it comes to slower cars my pace is like two levels below... I wish there would be more rounds in gr2 or gr1, or completely new series lije Supra Cup, but using gr2 or gr1. Japan Super GT Cup, or WEC in gr1... Come on PD![]()
I too am finding that I no longer dread road car races, on the contrary I'm beginning to enjoy them. From what I have been learning as I have been joining sport mode races this last year is that N class cars are entirely different beasts to drive. I just noticed in a replay for one of my Race C's this week that almost everyone in the race was using automatic transmissions ("AT" shown at the lower right of the current gear indicator). Only me and 1 other person were using manual transmissions. This was in a DR A/A+ race, so it's not likely these people would use AT unless it offered some benefit. It doesn't appear to be just a replay display glitch either, as they actually look like they were driving with automatic gear selection (e.g. taking the corkscrew in 2nd gear instead of short-shifting to 3rd there). I'd been wondering why I seemed to be pretty far off the pace, despite feeling comfortable with the car (my quickest lap is always over 1s slower than the quickest of the other no-stoppers), so I might practice with an automatic tomorrow. Has anyone else tried this and noticed improved times?
anyone else having trouble signing up for daily races?? I've tried to do that for like 5min i get an "WS-37269-7" error
Good one! I noticed it when running the track in the other direction... one of the more 'generous' track limits spots in the game. And one that is valuable for time, if you exploit it. I suppose they looked at it like: well- those harsher curbs are on the other side of the drain, so the limits as intended must be up til there. The fictional tracks in GT Sport are mostly pretty well-thought out, with neat details, and that sequence of esses is one of the real fun ones.- How much can you cut turn 8 at Maggiore?
- Yes
