Race A is good track, but dunno about the car...
Race b I find played out, used to love Suzuka but after 500 dailies in gr3 it gets old. Where’s the grid start with Dallara? That was fun.
Race c come on gr1 on a technical circuit?
I gave it a chance by running qual, but don’t enjoy the cars very much...
I guess if there’s any interest I could put up some clips from my races at Seaside.
Let me know because it takes time I have a lot of clips but they are in a poor order right now...
Cheers and good luck on b or c...Might see ya on a at some point...

Had the house to myself for a few hours now after work so I decided to get some Suzuka races in. I did three that went well, first one was a so-so-so result since started P1 and finished P7 due to me messing up a few corners but the other two I improved my starting position and one I finished P2 from P6 so that was good.

Then I got greedy and went for a fourth race which turned out to have been a mistake. Started P7 and things went great until the hairpin when I and the guy two places up both managed to get power oversteer on the exit from the hairpin. He spun into the wall, I spun into the wall and I guess I hit him in the process or something, because when he served a 4s penalty I caught up to him and then he went full on destruction derby. I had a run on him due to his penalty so I was cleanly coming up alongside him when he rammed me into the wall heading up to 130R, and then he looked like he was waiting in ambush in the chicane and rammed me again there which pushed me into the sandpit. Just as I got back on track he disconnected...

So I was up 1500 DR and closing in on a B rating, now I'm only up 600 DR and a bit further from B :P

Gonna go again this evening I think. I still like the Corvette even though you feel really slow in some corners, so I'll stick to that.

Nah I can't do anything this week. I plain suck at suzuka and the Group 1 cars I have always found so unpredictable. I never seem to get the same response from them, one lap the car will understeer, next corner it turns in too sharply, must be all the aero getting above and below it's tipping point.

Not to mentiuon Group C is a toyota meta race, basically pointless trying anythign else as it is so fast on the straights.

The Toyota is pretty much the slowest Hybrid on the Straights, it just handles, brakes and accelerates really well, it gets passed by all cars down the straight though.

Do you fly over Nordschilefe all day? ;)

Yep, I'll take the Shock Ultra there to fly the track, Hopefully it's detailed enough :)

My other plans include landing a 787-10 on Daytona race track, do a touch down, lap around and go  The track is right next to the airport so should be in high detail. Visiting all the real race tracks in the world is high on my list for things to do in Flight Simulator

I did 3 races at NGP this morning, still at 99 SR :gtpflag: I did get one penalty in one race, but since it wasn't a harmless contact, not that much SR loss and still blue

I tried the 787B first, got disconnected in lap 6 to put me out of my misery. The one other 787B in the race punted me off (then quit) and the rest of the field was far gone.

Then to the TS050, grumble. Much faster of course, too many slow corners for the 787B to have any chance to even get out of the backfield. Not all that exciting at ngp, so I quit after the 2nd race with the Toyota and decided to color the car instead of race.

**** Suzuka... Really, what crap is this track.... Think about it.... Why have a run off area that is essentially unusable?
Well, runoff area isn't really meant to be "usable," it's meant to keep cars within the bounds of the trackside fencing when things go wrong. For example, since you specifically mentioned Turn 9 /the Degners, F1 cars go into that section of the track at about 170 mph and the barriers on the outside of Degner 1 are ~50 meters from the track. Degner 2 is a much slower corner, but they're still approaching at 130, and the barriers there are less than 30 meters from the track. Tarmac runoff would be completely useless in the event of a suspension or brake failure, and there's no room to move the barriers back because that section of the track is at the edge of a hill with an access road going around the outside of it.

Also on the subject of paved run off areas it makes tracks an absolute eyesore. Just look at Paul Ricard with all that paint and paved run off. Ew. Second thing is that drivers no longer get punished for pushing too hard which is good and bad. Keeps more cars in the race but corners like parabolica at monza had to have sausages added because of how wide everyone went once it was changed to paved run off.

1 Race B this morning. Got my QT down to 2:02.306. Started 10th. Finished 9th. -DR. So need to work on starting higher.

1 Race C last night. QT 1:42.881. Lost a bunch of spot on the last lap but still gained DR. I think my QT time is decent. Need to work on staying ahead.

 strugglin

But lovin' that B SR life.

I do find the matchmaking annoying, as with DR A / SR 99 I seem to be matched with at least 2 aliens, and usually start mid to the back of a tough lobby. I'm not slow, but these lobbies do make it hard to progress well when half the lobby is over a second quicker than me, and I seem to just cycle around with the same people. Yes, the racing is generally clean, and I often benefit from others mistakes, but would prefer to be in more competitive lobbies with more drivers around my speed! Seems like the qualifying time is the least important thing!??!?

this is why i usually dont qualify or keep a lap slower than my actual pace. i like to battle not just drive around by myself. It just seems to keep me with slightly slower/equal drivers instead of behind a bunch of speedsters. i have more fun. I dont care about my ratings too much because ive seen garbage drivers everywhere I've been.

Race C N200 SH with that high of tire consumption immediately makes me think of the Mazda Roadster Touring Car. Curious about Race A's car selection, though.
I know the last time we had matching stuff for A and C it was the Mini at BMB and the 86 fest at Autopolis. I liked both of those races, but C was a bit long. Hope they have mixed it up a bit.

You have to drop a bit in SR to get more competitive races.

Statistically the penalty system makes sure that only people that stay away from each other get to stay in SR.S. Which leads to A+/S to D/S rooms, maximum spread of skill at SR.S. If you qualify around your pace you will often find yourself staring at the gaps growing all race.

Lower SR has a lot more people to choose from for matching and you'll end up racing different people every race. Also due to more contact with better matched fields thus people move around a lot in SR (the primary matchmaking factor)

SR.S is the parade end of the SR ladder in GTS

I was staying in the infield at Daytona for a race and the jets that did the pre race flyover buzzed the infield. It's the lowest I had ever seen them, they were maybe 25 feet above us and went straight over top of us. Me and my buddy were like '**** yeah'. You can barely hear them coming until they pass you. You can see planes landing and taking off behind the backstretch during the race.

If by ‘progress’ you mean overtaking half the field every race then don’t qualify.

My clips from DTS I’ll show later want a word with you. Lol

This is true, that or just keep losing dr by being overmatched until the dr drops.
I definitely saw an awful lot of a plus to D rooms at Seaside but one reason I think is that half the field of A 99 were super dirty in the old system, and now they don’t stay 99. To me it comes out pretty decent, but if you are a room filler d at the back that is no fun.
I think it’s important to remember even if you are worried about ratings, which really...why?
But even if you are you only need sr at the DR.
You only need b sr at b and a at a and even if you are a plus as long as you don’t get reset you keep it.
What I’m saying is there’s no reason at all scoring wise in this game not to race hard at all times. Embrace chaos :)
When I’ve gone up and down the ranks like b b tends to be faster than b s from what I have seen, at least at the front

I dunno. It feels great but the stop watch keeps throwing up a number a solid 1.5 seconds a lap slower than the toyota that feels terrible.

You are probably right, I was in front of a pack of battling cars which probably kept me ahead. It does feel like it wants to go round a corner though. I'll see how it pans out and try a few more.

Lots of space to land there. I hope the banked turns are in Flight simulator. I wonder if it will effect the planes, spoilers up, elevators and ailerons down for maximum down force :)

Sadly Nurburg doesn't have 3D data in Google Earth except for the terrain.

But at least the aerial imagery is clear on Bing which is what Flight Simulator is build on. They use AI software to turn it into 3D from aerial images.

Suzuka is flat as well, the ferris wheel has melted into the ground!

On EMEA servers at SR S, I can't say I stumbled across a room like this in a long time. Race B and C in particular, the spread is usually a few A+ with mostly As. Although the player pool is bigger and more populated so I guess this is an NA server thing.

I actually loved the 86 race at Autopolis, it's got just enough power that passing in a draft is possible down the medium length straights and basically no downforce (the real car has lift ) so it doesn't suffer from following in the corners.

Bit of whiplash going from Gr.1 to N200s, though.
