I've never driven St Croix C, so we'll see how it goes. With 3x fuel and 7x tyres on a 10km track over 5 laps it feels like pit strategy is going to be make-or-break here.

It doesn't seem likely that you can no-stop it, and with just 5 laps to make something happen your race is over if you pit out into traffic. Even if they pit after you and you regain those positions your hope of catching anyone ahead is gone.

My gut feeling is that anyone able to go fast while conserving and pitting later than everyone is going to make huge gains there.

The first race on Route X has cemented my thoughts that the community are full of idiots.
I mean come one, its a STRAIGHT RACE with TWO turns.
Despite that, people were still bumping you to gain places.
You just need to pass by drafting.

First straight, I was third place, and saw that they were getting all grouped into the middle of the track so I take the inside.
But then, for some reason, some guy decides to bump me.

Notice I never gained penalties but holy crap.

This game is full of mentally challenged people.

*Next week's races

A: Tsukuba - N300
B: Seaside - Gr.3
C: St. Croix C II - Gr.4 :) 👍 (1st time ever, on this layout)
Streets is wa... I, I mean... PD is watching. ;)

I'm going with the RC F vs Pepe le'Pewgeots. The skunk dePews will conk out on top end. Megane FF will be an alternative to the TT.

Might also bring out the GT-R for this.

Will be an epic race.

This is some of PD's finest work, right here.
I've posted a lot of penalty videos, but this may be my top choice of clips to send to whoever's in charge over there.
Just amazing :indiff:

Yep.
I got nudged like that quite a couple of times.
I don't know why people do that.
It's pure naughtiness and I blasted some guy for doing that to me.
Notice I am trying to have a clean race, but these guys just go at it.

Even worse, I am a freaking idiot for insisting on this flawed online mode.

Please Polyphony Digital, just focus on career mode.
You have absolutely NO CLUE how to do proper online racing.

The person who hit me was a victim, too. I've seen people who appear to be steering with the D-Pad in those turns. They're just all over the place.
Not sure about the wheel users, but for controller drivers, it's a lot easier to stay smooth through the turns at SSRX if you reduce the steering sensitivity.
I got my Q time down to #9 this morning, using steering sensitivity -2, instead of my normal +7. 👍

Wasn't St. Croix C Gr. 4 an FIA race last season? PD can't help reusing combinations...

No, that race was in the F1500T-A and it was the forward direction.

But I’m glad to see St. Croix C getting some use again. I don’t normally touch daily races, but I’m going to have to do that one at least once.

Hmm. It was definitely a group 4 race, maybe it was two seasons ago.

Yep. Just did 2 race As with rain tires and came in 3rd and 1st from nearly the rear.

Bump drafting is a legitimate oval racing strategy.

If PD don't want it, it is on them to figure out how to effectively disincentivise it. Because penalising the players who get bumped does not discourage it, it emboldens people who want to wreck others races.

I had 2 races today where I was leading off turn 4 and got hit in the rear for a 1-2 sec penalty. :banghead: So I cross the line in first and get dropped down the order, seriously? Or when someone comes from 2 lanes over and side swipes you into the wall, momentum lost and race over. It wouldn't suck as much if you didn't have to almost 15 min til the next race.

I would have waited for the pack & yanked the E-brake right in front of them. We already know that PD doesn't use ghosting until after a car plows into a slower car spinning on track. Hand out some penalties. :mischievous:

Think I would rather have had St. Croix when I was off rather than the ******** at SSRX. x7 on mediums is going to need a pit stop somewhere.

Looks like the hard compound may be required or face the 1 minute penalty. KP doesn't make it clear.

I might need to get evaluated in the morning, but maybe they’re working on the algorithms for when they bring back Daytona with GT7?

And I done 1 race there about an hour ago and went from 6th to 10 for a 1 sec penalty, 200m from the line for getting a bump.

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster.

This week's Race A has highlighted the flaws in the penalty system for me. This combo should be great fun, but the system actually robs it of enjoyment for me because it incentivises bad driving. I'm currently at low A DR and I am forced to choose between big DR losses from actively avoiding being bump drafted by "less careful" players vs competing in the pack and risking a DR reset. As a result I've only tried it twice. When this combo ran in the FIA with dramatically reduced penalisation it was a fantastically enjoyable race.

I'm enjoying the Race C combo though. Running the 911 at Brands Hatch is great fun and I'm mostly having good, clean, competitive sessions.

Maybe there is something to be said for having one daily each week which attracts the idiots so they don't enter the other races?

One lap TTs at StCroix for next week. Using only the rwd cars. So far, NSX is at the top, on a low 45 second lap. Followed by the 650S. The 4C feels the best because I've just thrown it around. Purely a momentum car.

458 felt the heaviest in the corners. Not as smooth as the NSX and 650S.

Citroen is, so far, the fastest on the straight, at 256km/h before braking. Slowest lap overall. Can't read it's handling. That's on me.

All the V8s(and V10) are coming up next. Starting with the SLS. Good stuff.
