Have to be honest, they should keep the nurburgring on all the time. Just vary which class runs each week and the race settings.

This week there has been tons of fun. In 3 races so far I've had a 3rd, 8th and 4th. And even got grouped last night against the #1 in the region.

I like the idea but I would have to seriously limit myself somehow. After a week of N24/Nordschleife, I need about 2 weeks to recover

I got no video. Just this. 👍 :D

Ha. Sit on it, FF!

Well, so far so good after 3 entries today.
Still 96-99 sr...
Generally there’s one instance per race in these rooms of nefarious driving behavior that’s directed towards me...It’s a dark necessity to retaliate...(this is why I race sparingly)

I’ve clarified my moral philosophical position with respect to GTS.
I no longer care AT ALL if the person who hit me or dove or whatever did it on purpose.
The way I see it, that person either failed to control their car and hit me or controlled their car and hit me on purpose...Either way they better watch out because I now owe them a payback. In case you don’t know science, let this scientist explain the physics LOL!

Those peaks are almost all Nordschliefe related. So, aye, def be up for that

So dropped my QT to a 56.6 with the delightful (for FF) Sirocco. Stunned more folks don't use this thing, it turns in better than the other FF cars and is a demon under brakes. Because of the turn in it takes the fast, awkward right better than the RCZ or TT.

TBH not sure why the RCZ is so popular. It may be a 10th or so faster but I can turn a 57 flat in the TT, RCZ and the Megane and a 56.6 in the Sirocco so I find it weird the RCZ is so popular.

I reckon the power of the RCZ is the attraction. It's tough to pass them on T1 which is the major if not only overtaking zone if they defend well because it's difficult to get alongside. More often than not you end up on the outside next to their rear quarter panel I mentioned earlier I was enjoying the RC F around Daily B knocking it around in 56.6, but even I had a tough time keeping up on the straight with the RCZ so I can't imagine the Scirocco having much of a chance. But like yourself, I enjoy racing other stuff, so if you can make it work have a blast.

Shouldn’t a rwd like Viper on B race be able to carry way more speed through that last turn than a junk TCZ fwd?
If so you oughta be able to get in position for an overtake right?
The fwd can’t get on power as early on exit because the fronts will be overloaded...
I dunno maybe I will give B a shot in the Viper...

There's a decent chance it'll just pass you on the straight.

That said, I nearly matched my time in the RCZ with the Jag. Within a few hundredths.

I'm really new in GTS even in games so I just know how to drive a few cars. I wish PD forces me to use some others cars. When it comes to a GR 4 race TT's and RCZ's are always META. I'm alresdy slow so using another car will make me even slower and is not that fun when you are always last.

If you are new to racing, I don't think the FWDs are the easiest to drive.
It's really hard to screw up in the AWD Nissan GTR. You can get back to the throttle much sooner at the first and last turns.
It will never spin the tires.

Take a look at the video I posted, I think the VW has more power than the RWD cars because she definitely hangs with the RCZ on the straights, losing very little and you can brake later than they can.

In theory yes but the FF cars are just so fast it is hard to compete. The Jag can hang with them but it's knife edge driving to have it keep up with the FF brigade. The Viper, IMHO, has way too much body roll and you really need to ABSOLUTELY NAIL the line wo make it work.

I'll second that. In pretty much all of the AWD GR4 cars you can mash the throttle pretty early with no wheel spin or oversteer.

I'm using the RCZ for B. It's not much faster but it's also pretty stable.

But generally speaking the Meta car is for qualifying and gauging competition. A smart driver picks a car they are comfortable with. I rarely see the top drivers race one even if their Q time is set in one.

If you chose the Meta and are in the dirt every 2 laps, you picked the wrong car. :)

I’ve tried just about all of them and my fastest lap (56.5) was done in the Jag. I can also do a 56.5 in the TT.

I find the RCZ too sluggish out of T1 and it doesn’t handle the fast right hander very well. In RWD cars, the Corvette is a better choice than the Viper. The Viper is sloppy under brakes, the Corvette feels more planted and you can get the power down earlier and keep it down.

The Scirocco is one of the few cars I haven’t run because I bonded with the Jag. I might need to give it a whirl.

I don’t think I tried the Jag. I ran that same time in the Viper tho.
I have always been a big vette fan, but I was much faster in Viper on this particular combo on the morning I ran qual.
Once I turned TCS back to default I was able to get 56.5.
I was stuck at 57 until I realized for some reason I had tcs off completely.
I might just try and qual again and run this on alt just to see what’s up at the B S level...As of now I just ran qual on main and that’s it...

I have to admit PD designed tracks always thwart me. There’s something about the way they design turns that’s very tricky imo...

Edit I’m 99. @sturk0167 should I run this race, or is it too dirty? Am I going to end up reset on sr in jail staring at a wall???

From my experience so far, it's only dirty when you're starting at the back.
You will still get occasional SR downs up front, but it's usually just accidental stuff.
80-89 range has the best racing, imo.

Me? I’m awful in the VW. It’s always my slowest ff. The ff I like is the Megane...
VW is a no go.

No D_D. But if i can do a 56.5 you can go faster, it absolutely LAUNCHES out of the last turn. I ran a surprisingly easy 57 flat in the Megane which circles back to my surprise as t the RCZ's meta status.

Yikes! Had 1 good race with clean close racing, then the disaster. @williams_v_r was in there as well as @Drex124. I think @williams_v_r had a better race than me, but that would be like saying they had 1 spoon less of 🤬 to eat.

I was not a great driver myself but bad luck and bad choices by myself and others while trying to guess ghosting and braking didnt help. There is also a jinx canadian in the race for me. 3 races with them. 2 were disasters due to their erratic driving dropping me back to the pack as I waited. This one just ended up being involved in 2 clusters that weren't really all their fault, so hence I think its just a jinx. Enjoy the ugly bad race start I made.

Also got a bonus special with a version of @05XR8 favorite moving under braking issue. Not sure how I could have avoided them other than braking way early. But I take a bit of blame here as well. Just looked a stupid move anyway.

And this is why we have such a wide array of choices in Gr. class races. I used to post my best QTs in the Corvette in Gr. 4, merely edging out the Viper. But as the BoP has been adjusted to the levels they are today, I find the Viper to be slightly faster than the Corvette on most daily race combos. In race however, all of that handling concern goes right out the window.

I ran some qual in my faves. M4 Mustang Viper...Turned 56.6 in Viper but I always race well in the Pony car.
I entered up started third and took second.
I shared it. The tracks too tight for me not to end up on a dirty rampage. It wasn’t the cleanest race, either.
Luckily I was in the Stang so the RCZ that tried to muscle me off lap 1 got his come uppance.
I lost to a tt. Guy had a weird way too wide line outta turn 3 into 4. I passed him last lap but it was ugly then he setup to punt me at final turn so I backed out.
I didn’t drive very well, but this is the first time (and maybe last) I run this one. It’s fun, but I have no doubt I’d end up with zero sr if I ran too many.
(Search tag is fish replay shared, pretty rough but it shows the Stang can compete no problem at average dr...)
Turning 57 flat in race is not too tough in Stang with tcs 3 if you hit the braking points right.
When everyone turns to ff I qual whatever’s fastest to get starting grid position and run something big and heavy.

Race C this evening - started 7th and ended up on the podium. This track is more about survival than anything.

I do not understand how people can post a sub 8.30 qualifying time (I've only managed 8.35) yet not be capable of navigating the first corner?
Are people getting ringers to do their qualifying for them?
Or are people sabotaging their ratings?

I broke my lap record, just under 8:22 for C. I had a clear lap two to speed up since in lap one I got rammed off about a dozen times. I started lap two 26 seconds behind, finished 10 sec behind. SR.B is reserved for the worst.

Matchmaking had fun with it as well, full SR.B room except a D/E Brazilian starting on pole. How does that happen? Has matchmaking changed? It used to be that the highest DR of lower SR was taken to fill up a room, odd.

I dont know, but seen a couple of people like that myself. I do have to admit that there are 3 corners or combos I simply hope and pray my way through on that track. The switchback for turn 1 and 2, brunechen and einskurve (probably spelled horribly wrong). No matter what I do I just seem to struggle for anything resembling consistency through there. I have had a few races lately where someone is 2 or more seconds faster than me in qualifying but I am all over their rear and sweating the closing pack by flugplatz. Could be the added pressure of being in a race versus free qualifying. Or they've just nailed their miracle lap and are now paying for it. I did that once and pretty much had to quit that combo for the week as I had no hope in hell of backing it up.
