When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside.

One single Daily Race C all it took for that to happen but no biggies. Just have to grind my way out again via Daily Race B.

But anyways, the succeeding Daily Race C attempts I did ended me up racing with low rated drivers so because of that, two wins (45 and 46). Least that washes off the huge DR I lost.

Hmm I ran just a few Yamagiwa for testing...haven’t run it in a long time.
I just remembered that it always seems like everyone else is a class above me here, like any PD track not named Seaside or Gardens lol.
I tried Mustang but for this one I might need some M6 action to get any sort of qual in.
Stang in the race could be ok, not sure it has the front end to attack the bends aggressive enough for qualy, I know I couldn't turn anything under a 33 in it, losing out on the long sweepers with it.

I love racing the SF... but the huge closing speed differentials in braking zones, and the ridiculous penalty system, combined with the ever-present idiot driver who 'just doesn't get it' in every race means it's rendered a no-go... shame, because in reality, the racing in the SF are SO FUN to race, and when raced 'properly' make for some of the most realistic racing in the game. (Meaning you earn what you deserve, and the racing usually sorts out to a fair result, if the contact at the starting stage of the race doesn't ruin it for everyone.)

I was excited about giving it a go at Suzuka in Race C this week, but now think I'll continue my sabbatical until the FIA season starts.

just use the alt my dude. Don’t worry about ratings and just take it as race practice. I ran from the back last night three times. 99>82>99>80. Still fun and my main account is safe. If I reset the alt? Oh well.

It’s keeping my skills/reflexes sharp for FIA.

Well... I ran three races there and my SR stayed on 63-71. So I decided to go to C to repair....
7 laps later I am at SR 20.....
Getting the odd bad race B, but generally getting my SR back up. Got back to 66 now at 55. Could maybe do a C and just pit and wait then run round the back to get a boost, but can't race it. Too many bad players and to be honest I'm not much better at that set up.

Spent yesterday evening learning Kyoto since it's the first track I had ever raced in Sport Mode and needed to erase that ugly kscore time in the 1:35s

Brought out the usual suspect Ford GT and tried to emulate that driver in Oceania but I couldn't ever catch him feels like the chicanes are more of a crapshoot than anything else. Managed to get the Ford down to 1:31.670 and I'll be out on the main this week racing.. see y'all out on the track

Yeahaha! 25K! Finally!
Had my goal to hit 25k by the end of the last FIA season, but oh well, lol.
Had some amazing races since the start of my journey, been really close to 25 before, both at Alsace Gr1 and Interlagos Gr3, but Bathurst was the one that finally pushed me over, I can't quali there at all but I always make up places whenever I race.
I had two epic overtakes, both at the same sharp uphill left, the others messed up T2 on cold tires, so I went and held the left side.

I haven’t got many laps in but, me too. Like 33.2. Got about 10-15 minutes in this morning in the M6, seemed to be hitting the same-unable to break 33.

Managed to get the Ford down to 1:31.670 and I'll be out on the main this week racing.. see y'all out on the track

Wow. That’s quick. I may just end up saying heck with tryin to be competitive at the front on B this week and just race.
I like the SF, and USED to enjoy Suzuka but I think I’m still tired of it from when it was every single week for like a year...So predictably getting divebombed at the hairpin, Spoon, and Casio kinda kills the fun at times...

That is hustling. I can do a 32 if all is perfect but 31 beyond me.

First Sport Mode race I ever did was Kyoto almost exactly a year ago and this combo or track don't come around often so I'll be practicing throughout the week trying to improve. I try to stay away from SF cars even though I should definitely be learning them!

Thanks, the Supra seems much more effortless to get better times but I try and stay away from the META at least until later in the week when I feel I've peaked. The guy in Oceania has the Ford doing 31 flat so I've got about 7 tenths I need to find

I am gonna try the Ford, it should work here, i forgot about it TBH. The car needs to be a touch twitchy here or you are stuck on one line. Yeah I can hustle stang for a low to mid 33 but no wiggle room.

I much prefer the GTs MR drivetrain to the Mustang. The GT just doesn't murder the kerbs the way the Supra will but it's honestly not a bad shout. Most guys aren't taking the chicane flat out during the actual race anyways.

Had a bit of a racing break but back into it this week. Race C is a fun race and the grid start are just nuts.

I am not a good qualifying driver and tend to set poor times so I am generally at the back of the grid in most races at the start. I can however for some reason find a some pace in the actual race and be consistent (I also try to stay out of trouble). At times in race C I have made 10 places before the first corner just with folks having false starts or just pleb into the wall on the straight.

Then it's just usually a case of survival with consistent laps till the end. I am still gaining a coup!e of places from from folks not taking mandatory tyres, I mean I like free places so thanks. Not won one yet and the best I have managed is a 5th (after being 19th at start).

It's just a fun race that I am enjoying a lot. Hopefully I will figure out why I can't set a decent qualifying lap and maybe hit a win before the end of the week.

Races look fun this week. No races yet, but I did run laps for the A race at RBR for about a half hour last night. I usually go well there, and even though I'm a FF hater, I had to see what kind of lap I could put down. I'll probably try the Supra in B first, since it has the on-throttle oversteer I like in sweepers (and sometimes bites me!). Race C will be fun, but I think for my alt account, so I'll be racing from the back, at least until I accidentally cross the finish in warmup. If that happens, I might qualify...but only if my time puts me mid pack. If I still start last, I'm good. I'm hoping I can use my main for A or B and get back some DR after the last 2 weeks. My alt is not supposed to have better ratings than my main account, so I need to work on that.

I'm not fast but I am stubborn, 5 laps against the Gran Turismo World Champion:

*unedited so loads of looking behind

Igor had started last and made it up to 2nd in 6 laps but used a lot of boost to get there. I started on pole and knew he was coming so saved some ammo...

Lots to absorb.

-Great racing, well done to both of you
- You are fast through the esses and through spoon
- He eats you alive through the degners
- You are WAY more polite than I am at the last chicane, he is running way off track, you need to hold position there imho
- What a shock a stupid penalty ruins a great race

Yamagiwa in Gr.3 as daily B, now that’s nice! Should be a week full of racing there.

Gotta comment on daily A again, as long as it doesn’t allow garage cars, I’m not doing it. That decision is so illogical and weird. Why, just why? We already have the damn cars, why are you forcing us to borrow them, Polyphony?!

I mucked up again, got back to S and now in with a bunch of idiots who can't drive. Was 3rd and then just kept getting bumped back, pens for me obviously and finished 12th lost 22 SR points and I'll hold my hand up to slightly tapping a guys rear which didn't get me an SR down luckily. Can't fix my account well enough to bin it and use an alt. The way the pens have been lately can't see me getting back to B/S before the FIA starts.

His pace is ridiculous everywhere, he was gaining a second a lap on top FIA split last night. The Esses and Spoon are downforce corners, the car behind is trapped in the dirty air so you're fairly safe there. The track limits at the chicane let you cut the left by a load but it's risky, I don't like putting the power on over there because it's too easy to lose the rear.

LOL the car looks so much more stable over the kerbs in chase cam than it feels in bumper view :dunce:

Nice racing

B race is great, but really hit and miss with regards to average drivers. Going through the esses and having muliple cars ghost really screws up with my timing lol.

80% of the time when i go off track badly, (spun/reset) the car seems really unstable on the next turn or two. I'm assuming its just me being annoyed and not concentrating but does a mistake hamper the car in anyway?

Does the warmup have any affect on the tires pre race?

If your car goes off track into the grass/sand, your tires become dirty and will lose girp for a while.

Race B is becoming annoying, can no one drive? That's 2 in a row where I start near the front and just get bumped to the back, losing SR too just to make things worse. It would be a really good race if we had even a half decent pen system.

At the big left hander, had a fool go all the way inside me, on grass and curb, to give me the left rear corner tap and make my car go wide to gain position. Hate that crap.
