Quite enjoyed race C this week mostly running the Corvette with a few races in the Genises when things got a bit more elbows out than I enjoy. I tried the McLaren F1 a few times but I just can't get the hang of it and it always feels like it's always about to fall off the track. Both the Corvette and the Genises especially feel planted on every part of the track and that for me allows much more consistent laps with ultimately better results at the end.

Had some good results no wins but some solid top 5's which has helped my DR up to high C just short of B. Without the elbows out races I might have squeaked into B but it is what it is and that's the end of it.

Not sure about next weeks races but without knowing what we are driving in race C I am leaning towards running race B at the moment.

EDIT:. Note to self never ever race on a Sunday. Worst races I have had all week in terms of folks actually want good racing, punt and run isn't good racing. It tanked my DR, which I am not too bothered about, but it's just not fun and a don't get why folks want to race like that. I am a bit angry after what was a pretty chill weeks racing, sigh.

Yep. My last three races were very bumpy in places. Mainly due to some players hugging the inside lines. It just slows everyone down.

Made up four positions with cars spinning out and ghosting. There was a seven car pile up in one. Cars going everywhere, after T4&5.
Starting dead last, has been my advantage.

As mentioned above, Race C, with no downforce to save players, might be a mess.

Kind of looking forward to Race B and even the Gr.1 Nations race.

Heh, started playing this properly again a couple weeks ago. I liked the Race B this week. Slow enough for me to get going again, and a race track that's familiar and easy to remember. Got a few wins too in mainly C/S or B/S depending how often the game crashes (on the PS5). Tried a few Race C, just not very good at getting consistent clean laps on Gr 3 still.

Thing I noticed is that the penalty is quite weak compared to what I experienced in the past. On Turn 3 (or Turn 4/5, technically), the left turn with sand trap on the outside. I had been reliably knocked out of the way deliberately there with no force off penalty, as in people do it knowing they can get away with it.

I honestly think Daily Race A could've been more fun if personal Renault Clios are allowed because since most of the grids I've been to are mostly Renault Clios, I would've imagined those people in their personal Clios would be using Clio Cup liveries because Daily Race A may as well be a defacto Clio Cup Daily. Not that I don't mind or anything but still would've been nice.

Here’s one of those scenarios I mentioned before, where someone covers the inside, so I take the outside line, brake late, and try to hang it around the outside for the overtake...or at least to continue fighting for the position. This guy wasn’t having that. He made the apex no problem, then just decided he wasn’t going to leave me room on the outside.

In the first post race chat, I didn’t call him out or tag him but I said I wish I hadn’t been pushed off track. He was silent. The very next race I repaid the favor. This time, he was very angry in the chat and every thing he said to me was censored except “I’ll see you next race.” Haha.

So, did he actually think that what he did was ok? And what I did wasn’t? I don’t race people like that unless they show me a lack of respect first.

How is battling here faster? If you compromise your line, you're going to lose like .5 sec or more on some turns.

If I didn't know you and saw you in my mirror gaining on me like that, I'd think jackpot, I'm following this car like an ambulance to the delivery room.

I believe today is covid lockdown for most of the europa so lots of people playing. That means every grid has that moron or two who can and will ruin the race for others.
Not much fun racing today as i can not mostly survive t2 at race A...

First post! Welcome on the board! :gtpflag:

I've enjoyed the hell out race A this week. Have had some of the closest, cleanest racing in a long while. I can live with the pen system as it is. I have not had a race ruined by a WTF penalty in weeks. Have there been a few races where the bangers caused problems? Yes, but they have been few and far between. It has helped that I have taken my race craft up a couple of notches lately - have finally internalized the concept of "if you want to go faster, slow down." The result of all this - finally achieved an A+ DR.

The last few days have been really messy but today has actually felt cleaner to me, might be because you've been starting close behind most of the races so I'm safe from the lunges.

I learned this the hard way a few weeks ago. I went from mid B to mid C in a span of four races on a Sunday. I've also enjoyed Race C this week and would have loved to pad my stats today but I guess I'll just watch basketball.

That's impressive that you made that many races without some peanut ramming you into someone else.
I'm going to miss race A. I've managed 3 wins and a whole bunch of fun races. I don't even get mad when I get punted, as the occasional poor result keeps my DR in check so that I don't wind up perennially mid pack.

Had a switch flip for Sardegna A and found some significant gains in race pace in my alt account. Raced a bunch today, never lower than top 5. Resulted in the alt account going from C (7k) to B (18k).

Decided to get the main involved. First race got bounced out on the first turn, though it was a cluster and I didn't think it was dirty, clawed back to 5th for the finish. Then started dropping down the order. 1:01 penalty, cut the last turn for .5, so didn't notice the 1:00 right away. I realized that I forgot to put softs on the vantage for the start and just habit to put on mediums at the pit. Idiot.

Went back a few more and did well gaining good DR, and having some fun battles along the way.

Looks like my alt and main acts are swapping though.

What's the target? :D

Admittedly I didn’t get those 117 at A+ which you’ve just managed so even if you’d stop where you are I think yours is more impressive.
I previously had the #1 consecutive clean races record at 79 but @Sven Jurgens took that one and ended up at 97 if I remember correctly. Not too thrilled getting dethroned I attempted it again and thought stopping at 100 would be too thin of a lead and eventually thought 117 seemed like a nice enough number to stop.

It's not really a fair comparison, I've done mine whilst contact penalties are practically off and the green sectors are a lot more forgiving to people who have been pushed off the road. Sven even did his in American lobbies which are like a warzone at the back half of the time!

117. Challenge accepted :gtpflag:

I did it by pulling over every time a car got close, ended up at DR 1

Wasn't the target much higher already? Oh well, no way to check, 404 page not found

Seems @jasguer gave up on this mess, I don't blame him

Target is 117, carry on

<...snip...>

Guilty. With the missing pen system, I have adopted an ultra defensive stance unless I know the racer behind me. Race B (RBR/Gr4) has been ridiculous this week. I have had an handful of undesired visits to the beach based on aggressive inside attacks. I am going to cover that line.

Some guys just can't see themselves. No level of introspection or even empathy for others.

Winnie, write a book and sell your angle as "Job interview" and "Marriage Fitness" tests.

Good point. It is a good mid-race strategy. I do [not] give up a spot easily on lap 1. There is a chance that those behind you will battle each other and allow you to break free. The risk is that they hang together and stampede past you if you try to hold on for too long.

Thanks for the clean race(s):

That is freaking amazing... 100 in a row. In is mindboggling that you maintain your level of risk and aggression and pair that with clean results. Congratulations.

Race B is tired already. Used rhe RX-V, no qualy. 11th to 7th. Not much drama to write about.

Running C right now no qualy. Might as well just do A & C this week. Turn the Supra into a Mazda(I do have Soul Red and Meteor Grey). :sly:

Oh, must use both compounds in Race C.
