Damage isnt unlocked until level 15 I think. My car's get all messed up like that one when I ram into walls and stuff.

I am level 28 and damage look terrible only on car have good damage and it's Evo VI TM edition! Rest cars have ridiculous damage...

Click on the link above then for damage, this was from one of our Pistonheads races on an Evo both the front and rear bumpers were ripped off.

Cool picture! How much did you ram each other for that? I spent 5 minutes trying to get the door off my citroen C4 WRC. Managed it eventually, but would have preferred damage to be a bit quicker.

Damage is good. but like the crazy said, damage should happen alot easyer.
however in real like you could be ramming your car till the engine explodes before the bumper fell off. I hope they can update the damage to not take a 100 mph bang to make a real dent.

Not this again. Damage is the same no matter what level you are at, you could be level 40 and you would still have the same damage as someone at level 0.

I had NO DAMAGE at all visible on ANY CAR including my RM ZR1 Vette I got at level 1 and what do you know? at level 15 my car started getting smashed up any time I hit a wall.

Only the bumper cover can fall off not the actual bumper, and yes there is alot of damage visible even on standard cars.

Not this again. Damage is the same no matter what level you are at, you could be level 40 and you would still have the same damage as someone at level 0.

Besides this, damage is only available in online games and arcade mode only unless I am mistaken which I am probably not (to quote Murray Walker )

Is it possible that visual damage is dependent on the cars?

I have a minolta 88cv raced in like the wind series. Sometimes I misjudge the turns and kiss the wall. That usually leave my right side nose bent.

However, using the pagani zonda r. I rammed the wall on the first corner of Tokyo 246 and car is still intact with no damage.

If you'd look on the homepage of THIS site, you will see an official press release where SONY denounced any unlocking of VISUAL damage. The damage that you see at level 1 is the exact same at level 40. The only variation is that once you unlock the Endurance series (and on certain extreme races), your tires now wear. Also, online mode and arcade mode are the only modes that have mechanical damage.

This seems to be true, turismo. There are certain cars that seem prone to easier body deformation than others (ie: the Audi R8 seems to be made of clay). Other cars are very difficult to get any body deformation on them.

I'm at level 20 and damage is pretty lame for me. I have to bang it up pretty good to get some crumple.

I was wondering about the damage the other day when I had a massive wreck on the NASCAR race at Daytona and then drove away and finished the race at full speed with no ill effects from the wreck. After I looked at the replay I could see tons of front and rear end damage on the car but none of it had any effect on the performance. Is this intentional, is damage only cosmetic?

On the other hand I was running some practice laps the other day, wrecked pretty good and found my actual steering wheel cocked 45 degrees to the right afterwards. The car drove ok but the wheel alignment was messed.

I do have Endurance races unlocked as I am now level 26.
