Alright, here's the deal. I've been frequenting the forums a lot lately, and I haven't seen anything confirming this at all... so I sincerely apologise if it's been said or everyone knows it, but I was looking around today and found out that there WILL be a game progress transfer from Prologue to the full game.

Head Start on Gran Turismo 5 -- Get a jump on the competition. You can transfer your Gran Turismo 5 Prologue progress to Gran Turismo 5 when it releases.

Again, sorry if it's been known already (lock if desired!) but I know there has been some questioning about it recently.

Some probably remembered this, I do. But it might or it might not work. Its not the first time PD announced something in advance only to leave it out later. I say this for one because the current save data isnt locked to any PSN ID, so when the full game hits, anyone can download another person's save and jump start with the monies and garage.

I hope it does work, otherwise playing Prologue would be a waste.

except for the having fun while you are playing it part.

I thought the "Concept by GT" cars would only be in GT5p because of the lack of tuning option in GT5p. There isnt really much to tranfer, but Ill take a 2,000,000 credit head start if they give it.

I totally agree with ya there. A lot of people have done that to get all the cars etc... I'm gonna guess they will, because it's such a small thing anyway. I'll give it a 70% chance maybe. Let's hope, because I would like to have all the cars from Prologue in my garage, even if I decide not to use them right away... or I can wait to transfer.

I wouldn't mind the first three licenses unlocked for you seeing as how GT5P really just felt like a license test but with slighty more options in the car you get to drive imo.

Any bonus i get from doing what i done on GT5P (didnt get ALL golds but have done all races, and have a LOT of cars, including the F1) will be nice, such as having the cars in my garage(or even just some of them) or having some licenses done already,or some credits...but if i start with just 15,000 credits the same as the chumps who havent had prologue i wont be too happy...but ill buy my EG honda civic and crack on with the game

They will add it. They did with GT4 Prologue. But for me im not bothered and wont use the feature.
I like to start from the beginning with no cash and work my way up with a half decent car. Its all the fun.

Personally I have no interest in any transferring of credits or cars from either GT5P or GT Mobile. We didn't get the full GT experience with Prologue, I'm certainly not going to transfer my 2 million credits or the F2007 and spoil it for myself.

Agreed flyingmann. I shall be underaking the obligatory Gran Turismo grind. It gives me a sense of progression and achievement :)

I also agree, the start of the game is great fun.:) Some of your favourite car's are the car's you start with in the GT series.
R*

I would like to see it where you'd have maybe 100,00 CR. or so to start and/or like 5-10 car but not like 2 mil. cr. I think its ridiculous that practically every single car you earn in GTPSP you get to transfer over to GT5, whats the fun in that? I start the game with 85% of the cars...now what?

Even if i get all cars in gtpsp, i won't transfer them..
I want to start gt5 with a clean slate,
starting from crap.

I guess you then blast through the competition with massively overpowered cars and a huge bank, complete the game and then be glad PD doesn't put things in GT that let you cheat through the game and avoid doing it the hard way :D

I just wanna get my Nissian GT-R and take it for a spin immediately on the Nuburgring.

But as for starting my career- I wanna do it the old fashion way- buy a crappy car, tune it up, go through the beginner class, get some money, get going, and start off. Hopefully we'll have special condition events to get those nice rally cars.

Skip single player and get what you really spent your money for, online.

Does anyone else here have the tradition of keeping the first car they buy?

When it's a Viper or other decent car, yes. Sold my first in GT1, GT2, GT3, started GT4 with a Viper SRT-10, kept the RX-8 in GT5P because it's a good car.

Good feature, but regardless i want to start from scratch. I don't mind extra credits, like an extra 50k or so, but i want to do all the licenses because the physics are supposed to be different and the tests will be new.

If i have extra cash, i can just save it for later, but do the start like i always do, by buying a basic car, keep it stock and then save up for an Evo.

I have done that in every GT so far! Some of them just stay in the garage but in GT3 and GT4 I chose a used Honda CIVIC 3-door and raced alot of the game with. I loved that little rice grinder! EDIT: I will not be bringing anything to GT5 from prolog except experience! Thats the way it should be in my opinion!

I´m playing GT5-P the second time around (old 60gtb failed on me and I lost all my saves), and I'm few cars away from buying all cars, got the most expensive ones out of the way (Citroen GT, F2007), but I won't transfer them to GT5. I wanna start over, beating around the crappy cars and saving up to the supercar of my dreams 👍. That´s GT to me, I don't wanna start the game driving the F2007, that's just wrong

I'd be happy if it unlocked them all for Arcade or Split Screen mode... the first thing I want to do is have people over and show them GT5, and they aren't going to be impressed with my single Honda Integra whilst I'm trying to get all the license tests done.

As for GT Mode, I agree, it feels wrong to start with huge amounts of cash and hundreds of cars.

Also Online, I want to have earned the cars I race online, and so far getting cars on GT PSP is a piece of cake.

I would personally like somehow to bring passed license tests from previous games... new physics or not I don't need to do the entire slew of license tests to get a feel for new physics.

Carrying across license tests from old to new physics makes no sense to me, it's like saying I can drive an automatic, so why should I need a manual test?

You're totally right!
I'm gonna do the same as you, begin with a slow car and then finish the game, like in all other GTs.
If I have completed the game 100% the I import the cars from GTPSP to GT5, then it feels allowed for me ^^

Well I mean when I switched from auto to stick, it took me an hour of practicing in a parking lot and a day of driving around town and I had it 95% down. I didn't have to go back to the DMV, learn how to parallel park, how to do hand signales, how to change lanes etc.

And considering the physics shouldn't be THAT different (we are not talking outrun to GTR kind of difference) I think it will be more like "I can drive on regular tires, I don't need to take a mlutiday race course just to adjust to low profile tires."

I mean I have put a lot of hours into this and many driving games, it takes me all of a few laps to get a feel for almost any game and that runs the gammut fom super slidy rallisport challenge up to Toca and LFS.

I don't need to be taught how to brake before a corner, how to handle a constant or changing radius turn etc... I need 2 or 3 laps to figure out the basics and the detail stuff I will learn much faster on a track than on a license test.

If what you say is true then the license tests will be a breeze for you anyway :sly:
shouldn't take you too long to get em done. Not like theyre hard anyway.. (unless your aiming for all golds from the getgo)

License tests are a huge part of GT and will always be a main part of the offline gameplay (It's also much more rewarding getting gold on a license test with a car and setup you haven't driven before, than winning a race with a car you've been using the whole GT carreer) . I hope the driving missions make a reappearance as well cause they where awesome fun to try and beat 👍

This is exactly the reason why I stopped playing prologue a few months back - I'd rather just wait for GT5 to arrive, and play through it properly from start to finish as intended. Transfering stuff from prologue and GTPSP just dilutes the experience and reduces the amount of potential enjoyment to be had from working your way through. Starting out with a Veyron in the garage and 2,000,000 credits seems kinda' pointless to me.

Well I won't transfer anything from GT5P or GT PSP.

This would ruin the game for me. I might be keen to get online and race/hotlap but alot of my enjoyment will be starting with nothing and gradually aqquiring my cars/credits.

I think theres a good option because you have to make the license tests anyway.
