I will quite happily transfer gt5p cars and cash into my arcade mode. GT life will be from scratch for sure.

Well, unless you count the Pre-Order bonuses. But thats just cheating anyway

It would sort of defy the point of gt life if you could import cars, that mode is all about building up from a poor vehicle, winning races, gaining experience and building up your collection of cars.

Arcade mode for me, will be just a holding bay for my online escapades. Any vehicles i gained from gt5 prologue/gtpsp i will accept into my arcade arsenal.

You clearly do not understand the definition of cheating.

True, but after four games in the series, plus the prologues, some people may not want to go through the whole grind again.

Ok, so I don't get to sell of a slew of F2007's in GT life mode. That makes perfect sence to me as a "career" type game mode should be done from start to finish as intended and I'll enjoy the trip. You don't start an RPG from halfway through the plot.

I know we will find out on Nov 2nd, but I have to wonder if your transfered cars work in online play. If all my carried over cars don't work in online play I will be slightly miffed as I have only ever played arcade mode in all GT games combined say a total of 20 times. I just don't use it, I find my time is better spent earning credits to aquire new cars in carrer mode. I wouldn't care if the game didn't even have an arcade mode.

The primary reason I bought Prologue was because I heard that your save data transfers to the full version. Though I got my moneys worth playing Prologue alone I could have easily waited for GT5. If my cars only work in offline arcade mode I will be very very let down and calling shenanigans.

Also, starting the game with a head start isn't cheating. Some people just don't want to spend the time doing it the slow way. Even if you do it's only a matter of time before we all have the cars. Time time time, I'd love to save it as it's the only thing that truly limits us and what we can do while we are alive.

Arcade mode should just be "Everythings Unlocked" mode. If I were living every day like its my last I wouldn't be grinding a game but I might enjoy it with a friend.

I think GT5 has been too long awaited to go and spoil it with a headstart. The only problem is, some douche will probably ruin the 2 year wait by transferring, and pwning everyone online. Might stay away from it, apart from Official PD or GTP events.. Hmm..

transferring, and pwning everyone online.

The only fair blame for such a situation goes to PD. You don't seriously think Minis and F1 cars will drive in the same race do you?

As per the topic, I eagerly awaiting selling hordes of F1's if there is no option to start with infinite money.

I think that transfer is connected to the Arcade mode, not GT Life, so one way or another you need to start from scratch.

OF course not, but maybe in a free for all (Run What Ya Brung) and a GT series noob (no offence meant) accidently stumbled into a RWYB room and got beaten, then it could happen. Maybe only once to each person, but if a lot of people.. Anyway, you're probably right. But if that does happen, then.. :/

GT1 was the beginning of all the games and on the PS1. GT3 was the beginning on the PS2. GT5P was the beginning on the PS3. If what you're saying is how PD felt, then you wouldn't be able to transfer anything over from previous games.

Fair enough. They obviously feel the way they feel (a small bonus) but we will have to see exactly what transfers. As far as I know the details of data transfer aren't confirmed.

My feelings on data transfer are a lot like standards and premiums where they got my hopes up. They got me expecting a possible super head start via selling off my garage, so what did I do, I spent time grinding S6 for 48k per lap thinking that it will save me a lot of grinding in GT5. Now that I hear it's only for arcade mode I feel like I wasted a huge ammount of time.

I have a question...I have the european version of GT5P and GT PSP but I'll pre order the US version of GT5 (because it's better for example it has 300 page of Apex guide, I don't know if it's the same as the 200 page EU Apex guide) so can I transfer my data from my EU version games to a US version of GT5 or not?!? :S

Sony/PD have confirmed that the transfer of cars from either GT5P or GTPSP will be to the arcarde mode only.

They haven't said in what mode(s) the pre-order cars will be usable in... but if we put our Spock ears on and use logic, it becomes quite reasonable to suspect that they will only be used in the arcade mode as well.

I did the same thing. Got a f2007 in every color, then proceeded to get 2-3 of each car in the best colors. The problem is rumors. They spread and people claim them to be official info.

I don't think so.

Will it even work the regin code pal for Europe and ntsc for US ? ExE : I can't play japan game disc on my US ps3

That is a good question.

I know that the PSP is region-free (and I believe that most PS3 games are too), but someone using a North American copy of GTPSP can't watch a replay from the UCES (European) UCAS (Asian) versions. So while the hardware isn't region-locked, the copies of those games seem to be for some odd reason.

So is it safer to buy the european version of GT5? I really want to know if there's any difference betwen US Apex book and EU Apex book! I looked at pictures of them and I saw that the US Apex book is BLACK inside but the EU Apex book is white inside just like normal paper!!!

Even if we get to keep al the cars we have collected on GT5P
I doubt any of them will be premium cars on GT5.

You sure? They all had interiors (bar the GT-R Proto) and the only cars which will have interiors are Premiums. It would be a shame to not have any of the cars in GT5P Premium; if they aren't, I suppose that's why the game was delayed while PD scrapped the GT5P interiors and made new ones for other cars. I guess we'll have to wait and see. :/

I hope the transfer will only apply to Arcade mode, and not GT Life. If so, I'll probably transfer to mess around and doing some hot laps. But to use it in GT Life, is a blasphemy in my eyes 👎. The fun and spirit of GT is to start with cheap bangers and work your way to the high-end exotic rides :).

But that's just my opinion :D

if I remember correctly when GT4 came out you could transfer data from GT4p

the only thing dat was transferd was the first two licences. Because they assumed if you've completed GT4p you'll probably know the basics of driving.
I don't really remember any cars or credits being transfered, but I could be wrong.

I'm not sure either; I remember having the option of credits and / or licence data for GT2, though. I know that I only transferred licence data in both of those cases, just to get me started. I "had" to go back and do them properly some time later, though...

In GT4:P, you can transfer licenses to the full version of GT4.
But they are only the first 2 licenses, not all of them.:grumpy:

like I said ;)
And you did not get the cars you woud get for completing them either:grumpy:

But to be honest I'm quite looking foreward to do the licences ik GT5.

^^Did it just give you bronze?

No, you got this other icon - a bit like this:
images

But rotated so it looks more like a book.

GT2 was similar. In order to get an "actual trophy", you had to complete a time.
