It is almost time for Speedweeks in February. Last year I hosted a rather successful Daytona 500 which included the Daytona Duel races, so I thought for this year I would host multiple events at Daytona for Speedweeks! Speedweeks will be spread over the course of 10 days from Thursday, February 14th, to Sunday, February 23rd, taking place during the actual days of Speedweeks. Race events will be scheduled to take place after the real life event for most days Events include:

IROC 100 (40 laps, 100 miles) using suped up Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept '88s. Limit: 12 cars.
ARCA 200 (80 laps, 200 miles) using detuned 2010 or 2011 NASCAR cars to match ARCA speeds. Limit: 11 cars.
Daytona Shootout (based off of this year’s Sprint Unlimited race, format TBD) using 2013 NASCAR cars, detuned to match accurate restrictor plate speeds. Limit: 10 cars.
Trucks 250 (100 laps, 250 miles) using suped up trucks including the Chevrolet Silverado, the Dodge Ram, the Ford F150 and the Toyota Tacoma. Limit: 12 trucks.
Drive4COPD 300 (120 laps, 300 miles) using detuned 2010 or 2011 NASCAR cars to match Nationwide Series speeds. Limit: 11 cars.
Daytona 500 (200 laps, 500 miles) using 2013 NASCAR cars, detuned to match accurate restrictor plate speeds. This event would include the Daytona Duels (2 races: 60 laps. 150 miles each) qualifying format. Limit: 10 cars.

The GTP Online Racing Rules & Guidelines and the Good Racecraft Guide are expected to be followed for all of these events. Each event will have it's own rulebook which will be listed in posts below.

I also have an idea to incorporate a Battle at the Beach based off of the UNOH Battle at the Beach race. This race would be held on the backstretch of Daytona, around a .4 mile temporary short oval in detuned NASCAR 2010 or 2011 cars to represent the K&N Series. The race would be 150 laps. Laps and positions would need to be counted manually by a off track race steward and we would also need a couple of cars to mark turn-in points from the skid pad to the track position of the Daytona Superstretch.

I plan for the first half of February for testing to set up the cars. Testing sessions will be very small and exclusive as it gets difficult to test the cars if you have too many people on the track at once. The next half of the month will be used for practice sessions open to all participants. Events labeled as a Final Practice will be mandatory to attend. On certain days practice sessions will be integrated with the race events and other days will be purely for practicing. The complete schedule will be in a post below.

All vehicles will be carefully tuned to match the actual speeds they run around Daytona in their respective series. Races will be run with the rules that the actual series use, including Cautions. (IROC rules for IROC, ARCA rules for ARCA, NASCAR rules for NASCAR, etc.) These events will use Real draft and Heavy damage settings. Not for beginners! Take a look at last year’s Daytona 500 thread for an example of how detailed the rulebook gets and some examples of what the event will be like. (Keep in mind some rules may be different for the various events.) While this is a serious “Race for Real.” event, I think everyone will have a lot of fun with it.

Sign-up Procedure
When signing up for an event, please list the event and follow the instructions listed below.

IROC 100
Using the Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept '88. Colors will determined by random draw. and paint chips will be sent. (I didn't know there isn't trading anymore.) Paint chips will be assigned at random and there will be a guide to what car you need to buy in the dealership to acquire that paint color.

ARCA 200
Using 2010 or 2011 NASCAR cars. (Not both, still TBD if it will be 2010 or 2011.) List the number of the car.

Trucks 250
Using the Chevrolet Silverado SST '02, Ford SVT F-150 Lightning '03, RAM 1500 LARAMIE Hemi Quad Cab '04 and Toyota Tacoma X-Runner '04. List the model that you would like to use and what color you would like to use. There must not be any duplicate color trucks of the same model. (With the exception of the Silverado, as unlike GT5, you cannot paint the Silverado in GT6.)

Drive4COPD300
Using 2010 or 2011 NASCAR cars. (Not both, still TBD if it will be 2010 or 2011.) List the number of the car.

Daytona 500
Using 2013 NASCAR cars. List the number of the car.

Daytona Track Rules
Yellow Line Rule
Driver's are not allowed to complete a pass that has any part of the pass below the Yellow Line. It is the Official's judgment that if a driver goes below the yellow line to improve their position, they will be black-flagged. Also the Officials will use their judgment that if a driver forces someone below the Yellow Line in an effort to keep them from passing, they may be black-flagged. Cars are allowed to pass other cars when they are "out of bounds", (below the Yellow Line) if they are doing so to avoid a wreck that is in progress.

Pit Road Speed Limit
The Speed Limit for entering pit road is 55 mph. Drivers must be at or below 55 mph by the time they cross the first white line at the entrance to Pit Road. Drivers must remain at or below 55 mph for the entire length of Pit Road. There is a buffer of 5 mph for Pit Road for a strict Speed Limit of 60 mph. If a driver is even 1 mph over this buffer, they will be black-flagged.

Pit Entry and Exit
When entering Pit Road under Green Flag conditions, drivers must stay to the left of the thick yellow line. When exiting pit road under Green Flag conditions, driver's must stay to the left of the thick yellow line until it ends. If traffic is coming, the driver that is merging onto the track must yield to the traffic, however merging drivers are not to continue driving below the apron into Turn 1. When racing drivers see a vehicle merging onto the track they are expected to move up the track in order to allow room for the driver that is merging if the vehicle the vehicle that is merging is almost in Turn 1. This is to prevent the merging driver from having to drive below the apron in Turn 1 which is dangerous. If the traffic is almost on top of the merging driver, they are required to yield to the traffic by slowing down.

IROC Rulebook
Pit Stops:
There are no scheduled pit stops in IROC events. If a driver must stop at the pits for any reason, his car is serviced by a crew of IROC mechanics. Under normal circumstances, a driver who pits under the Green Flag receives no penalty, except for the time lost on the track. A driver who pits under a Yellow Caution Flag, however, is subject to a one-lap penalty, as assessed by the IROC organizers.

Yellow Flag Laps:
Under normal circumstances, Yellow Flag caution laps do not count in IROC competition. If the Yellow Flag is waved, we revert back to the last completed lap for the Restart line-up. If the Restart occurs on the last lap, the White and Green Flags will be displayed and it will be a one-lap shootout. For example, if there is a Caution during Lap 10, we will Restart at the beginning of Lap 10. At the Moment of Caution, the field is frozen instantly. Drivers are not allowed to pass other drivers. Under Caution drivers will line up Single File.

Due to the limitations of GT6, at the Moment of Caution, drivers will have to slow down to pace speed and while maintaining their current positions, slow down to a stop. We will then turn around and take a reverse lap and stop on the backstretch. While maintaining Single File, drivers will turn around to face the right direction on the track and will then proceed Single File for the Restart.

Start and Restarts:
The start will be Double File with the leader on the inside. Drivers must wait to accelerate until the Green Flag is called. Until the Green Flag for the Start is called, drivers must maintain Double File formation. Restart will be Double File. Until the Green Flag is called for any Restart, drivers must maintain Single File. If officials feel that any Start or Restart is uneven with drivers out of formation, they may call off that Start or Restart and the Yellow Flag procedure will be followed to attempt that Start or Restart again.

The Official in charge shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the Officials. Their decision is final.

2. ARCA rules are intended to provide for the competitive, orderly and timely conduct of ARCA sanctioned events, and to provide for competitors to participate as fairly and equally as possible. From time to time, unforeseen circumstances may dictate the need for race events to occur under extraordinary conditions, subject to special rulings by ARCA officials. ARCA officials may make determinations regarding race procedure, competitor eligibility, or other matters which may deviate from established rule/procedure, in the interest of the sport as stated above.

3. ARCA rules may be amended from time to time by distribution of bulletins to all registered drivers, or as otherwise determined as applicable.

4. Officials’ interpretation of the meaning/application of rules shall prevail at race events and be final. By registering for this event, drivers agree that interpretations of rules by Officials are non-appealable, except as provided in the ARCA Rulebook. All drivers agree that interpretations of rules by Officials are non-litigable.

SECTION 2 MEMBERSHIP/COMPETITOR LICENSES

Any and all vehicles will be subject to inspections before, during and after races. Refusal to comply with this request may result in penalty.

3. Officials reserve the right to penalize a driver if their car is found to not meet the specification regulations. Officials will instruct said driver to change their car to meet the specifications. Penalties may be applied.

4. If a vehicle does not arrive at the track by the designated time, Officials reserve the right to refuse that vehicle, and/or driver entry/participation in event.

SECTION 5 ARCA QUALIFYING PROCEDURES

1.
A driver may only qualify one car per event.
A. Any eligible driver may drive a qualified vehicle (established qualifying procedures prevail).
B. All cars must make a qualifying attempt.

2. Starting position will be determined by time trials. Method used will be agreed upon by Officials and will be brought to drivers’ attention before race. A driver must complete on track activity as directed by Officials to be eligible to start the feature event.

A. Time Trial (Qualifying) Procedure

ORDER OF TIME TRIALS: Will be in lobby order. Every vehicle and driver having passed technical inspection and practiced is eligible to time trial. Time trial results will determine the starting lineup for race. The format for time trials is as follows: one warm-up lap, followed by two timed laps. Starting Grid order will be determined by the best lap time out of the two timed laps.

3. In qualifying by the clock, failure to complete a lap after taking the Green Flag on the first lap, or the White Flag on the second lap, will cause a loss of that qualifying attempt. No wave-offs will be allowed. Taking the Green constitutes a lap and taking the White constitutes a lap. If for any reason the timing device should fail, the flagman may give the vehicle the Green or White again.

4. No times from a round of qualifying will be used if round is not completed.

In the event of duplicate best lap qualifying times, the results for which driver gets the position will be decided by the involved drivers other lap with the slower driver placing immediately after the driver they tied with In the event the other lap is also a duplicate time, drivers involved will run one more lap.

SECTION 6 ARCA RACE PROCEDURE

1. All drivers and where applicable, and team spotters, must be ready to compete in the event for which they are scheduled. Any driver or team not ready to compete when called may be sent to the rear of the race; or let out of the remainder of the day’s racing events at the discretion of Officials.

2. The race may be started at Starter/Race Director’s discretion once drivers have been signaled to be ready. Disposition of vehicles not in position shall be at discretion of Officials.

3. Whenever it becomes dangerous, unsafe or impractical to continue a race within the discretion of the Starter/Race Director, a race may be stopped. Furthermore, at the discretion of Officials, if said race event reaches or surpasses the half way point and due to unforeseen circumstances cannot continue, said event will be considered officially completed as of the last lap completed by the leader prior to the race halt.

4. At least the Leader shall cover the advertised laps of all races if possible at the discretion of Race Officials.

5. All cars must make at least one Pit Stop prior to the last ten scheduled laps of an event. To qualify as a “Pit Stop” the vehicle must come to a complete stop. This Pit Stop may be completed under Yellow or Green Flag conditions. (If drivers do not actually wish to change tires they may complete this Pit Stop by entering Pit Road in Reverse as long as they come to a complete stop before they enter, or under a Yellow Flag condition by simply dropping back behind all cars that are not pitting.)

6. When official discretion of winning positions is made by the representative(s) in charge, all races shall be considered finished.

7. Caution Flag laps may count as completed laps as designated. At designated races and tracks, race will be ended on green-white-checkered flag whenever possible. Procedure regarding Caution Laps and ending race on Green to be brought to driver’s attention before race.

8. The size of the field in a feature event will be no greater than 11 cars.

9. No vehicle will be started or allowed to continue in competition which, in the opinion of presiding Race Officials, is a hazard to the other vehicles in the event.

10. The Pole Position vehicle will bring the field to the Green as directed by the Flagman. No one is allowed to pass another vehicle until the Start/Finish Line on the initial start of the race at Race Director’s discretion. A Start is official based on the rules of the track being run. Announcement of these procedures will be made at the driver’s meeting.

11. When a Race is stopped after the completion of at least one (1) lap, cars will line up in their respective track order in which they were scored. When the starter gives the “one (1) lap to go” signal, cars will line up in two (2) columns for all restarts in the following “Double File” format after they cross the Start/Finish line, unless otherwise directed by Officials. The leader will have column/lane selection for each Restart and is the control car for the Restart. The third place car, in scored order, must line up on the inside column/lane of the second row. The remaining cars will be lined-up in “Double File” in the following order:

a) Lead Lap car(s) that maintained their respective track position and did not enter Pit Road. Lead Lap car(s) that entered pit road only once, on the designated lap during this Caution Period when Pit Road was open, as they have returned to the race track.

b) Lap(s) Down car(s) that maintained their respective track position and did not enter Pit Road, during this Caution Period.

c) Lap(s) Down car(s) that have entered Pit Road on the designated lap and cars that have entered Pit
Road more than once, as they have returned to the track in their respective track position.

d) The highest scored Non-lead Lap car (“Free Pass”) at the time of Caution.

e) The “Wave Around” car(s) are not permitted to enter pit road at any time during the Yellow Flag/Caution period. “Wave Around” car(s) must maintain their respective track position and receive the Green Flag on the race track before being permitted to enter Pit Road without a penalty.

f) Car(s) that have been issued a race procedure penalty will be at the “Tail of the Field” in their respective track position.

12. All drivers are required to attend all mandatory drivers’ meetings and/or mandatory participation events in order to be allowed to compete; penalty may be issued if driver is late or absent unexcused.

13. Once a vehicle has been started for an event, it is assumed to be race ready and is to continue on the track unless stopped by a race official.

14. GREEN-WHITE CHECKERED PROCEDURE:
  • If the final scheduled lap of the race is would be under Caution, the Red Flag will be called and Officials will take the current grid order. We will then back-out of the race and a three lap race will be created. When the Green Flag is waved for the Restart attempt, there will be two laps remaining in the race. If a Caution comes out at any time during the first of the two laps, each subsequent restart will be a two-lap restart following the same procedure.
    • If there is a Caution and the Restart would be set to be on the final scheduled lap, the Green and White Flag will be waved together and the race will have only one lap remaining.
      .
  • If a Caution comes out during the Final Lap (after the White Flag has been called), the race returns to Yellow immediately. The same procedure as listed after the first bullet will be followed, except a two lap race will created. There will be one pace lap and one lap to go in the race. Should a Yellow Flag wave before the leader crosses the Finish Line, this procedure will be followed again and once again we will Restart with one lap to go.

SECTION 7 OFFICIAL FLAG RULES
Any driver who does not obey the flag rules is subject to penalty.

SPECIAL FLAGS
Special flags may be used at the discretion of starter and officials, but are to be fully explained to all contestants before the races start.

GREEN FLAG

When the Green Flag is given by the starter at start of race, vehicles are to retain position until they have crossed the Starting Line. Officials may make special rulings on Starts and Restarts at Race Director’s discretion. For example, after a Red Flag, Caution Flag may constitute official Restart of race.

PASSING FLAG (Blue Flag with Yellow Stripe) (Sometimes just referred to as “Blue Flag”)
Faster vehicles are approaching. Vehicles being overtaken are to yield to overtaking traffic.

YELLOW FLAG (Also referred to as "Caution Flag" or simply "Caution".)
The Yellow Flag signifies Caution and this flag will be displayed immediately upon determination. All vehicles must slow to Pace Speed and hold position and form a single line behind the lead vehicle and pace car. Drivers failing to abide by Caution Flag rule/procedure subject to penalty. The Leader will be picked up by the Pace Car. Cars must under no circumstances pass the Pace Car unless directed to do so by Officials. Drivers must allow the Pace Car to pass to pick up the Leader. The Pace Car will lead the field until the Green Flag is again displayed. Procedure for Yellow Flag (freeze field) to be announced at driver’s meeting prior to event.
FREEZE FIELD: Upon display of Caution, all vehicles must slow and hold position (no passing) and allow the Pace Car to pick up the field, as determined and made known to drivers in the pre-race driver’s meeting.
PITTING: All Pit Stops are to be made according to procedure as determined and made known to drivers in pre-race driver’s meeting.

RED FLAG
The Red Flag means that the race must be stopped immediately regardless of the position of the vehicles on the track. The Red Flag may be used at Officials discretion for safety or other reasons. Cars should be brought to area designated by Officials, if possible, and kept on the track proper. No repairs of any nature will be permitted when the race is halted due to a Red Flag.

BLACK FLAG
Driver is to report to Pit Road immediately. Disregarding a Black Flag may result in the vehicle no longer being scored or complete disqualification. Drivers causing unnecessary delays in the race are subject to Black Flag. Black Flag does not mean immediate disqualification. A Black Flag will be displayed to a driver for either damage or a penalty. If it is damage, the driver will proceed down Pit Road as normal to repair their damage. If the Black Flag is displayed for a penalty under Green Flag conditions the driver is to enter Pit Road in Reverse in order to take a Drive-through Penalty. If the Black Flag is displayed for a penalty under Yellow Flag conditions the driver is to follow the instructions of the Race Official in charge. This penalty could be anything leading from going to the Tail of the Field or being held for Laps.

WHITE FLAG
Signifies one lap remaining in race. Vehicles may not receive any type of assistance after white flag has been displayed followed by checker except vehicles on normal pit stop. Violation will result in vehicle not being scored on that lap. When used during caution period or prior to start of race signifies one lap until green.

CHECKERED FLAG
When the checkered flag is displayed, a race is officially over. When the checkered flag is given the leader, the balance of the field receives the checkered flag in the same lap. Finishing positions will be awarded according to distance traveled and order across finish line on final lap regardless of whether the vehicle is still running or not. All vehicles must complete last full scored lap under their own power. No vehicles may be pushed across the finish line. (Reference freeze field procedure under yellow flag.)

SECTION 8 PENALTIES

1. Violation of any ARCA rule, regulation or procedure, as determined by Officials, may result in the participant being penalized by disqualification, probation, or suspension.

2. Any driver, and/or vehicle may be restricted from entering the lobby while under suspension.

3. Until suspension is lifted, the vehicle with which the suspended member is registered, may be restricted from competing.

SECTION 9 PROTEST

1. Scoring of a race, time trial timing, inspection decisions and race procedure decisions are not subject to protest.

2. Any protest not pertaining to any particular race, must be in writing and filed in a Private Message to the Head Official.

3. Officials shall set up rules and regulations of protests.

4. Any person or persons against whom a protest is lodged, shall have the right to file answers to the charges.

5. Decisions by the Official in charge at track will be final on any and all protests, except as provided in Section 10.

6. Only a registered driver participating in that race event may file a protest.

SECTION 10 APPEALS

1. Right of appeal is hereby given to any driver who has been penalized for any infraction of rules, regulations, procedures or specifications of ARCA.

2. Such appeal must be received by within five (5) days after notification and shall be made in written form via Private Message.

3. Appeals will be dealt with in the order in which they are received.

4. The driver has the right to present their argument at the appeal meeting.

5. After the appeal meeting, the penalty may be increased, upheld, decreased or removed at the Official's discretion.

5. Decisions made by ARCA appeals committee on appeals shall be final and non-litigable.

Information on Segments
The race room will be set to 81 laps, but not all of these 81 laps will be run together. To start the race off, there will be 2 pace laps in order to activate the Pit Road glitch so that it doesn't happen mid-race unevenly and unfairly. Transmissions will be set up for after the Pit Road glitch. This means that the race will start coming onto lap 3/81.

Segment 1 of 30 laps will then be run (Caution laps will count towards all laps run.) After the conclusion of those 30 laps, the Pace Car will come out. (Drivers race to the conclusion of Lap 32/81) Drivers are not required to pit on this lap. (Lap 33/81) After optional pit stops the race will resume on the following lap in the current running order. (Lap 35/81)

Segment 2 will now start (Lap 35/81) and there will then be 25 more laps to race. After the conclusion of those 25 laps, the Pace Car will come out again. (Drivers race to the conclusion of Lap 59/81) All drivers are required to pit on this lap. (Lap 60/81) The starting line-up for Segment 3 will be based off of the order people exit pit road. The race will resume on the following lap after pit stops. (Lap 62/81)

Segment 3 will be a 20 lap sprint to the finish starting on Lap 62/80. The victor of this segment will be declared the overall winner.

NASCAR Rulebook

Qualifying Procedure
For the Truck Series race and the Nationwide Series race will be using the Group Qualifying Procedure. All drivers will be released onto the track at the same time in groups of 5 as decided by practice speeds. Qualifying will be run immediately before the race.
  • The first session is open to all cars and lasts 10 minutes. Drivers that do not advance will set positions 6-10.
  • The fastest 5 cars in the first segment advance. Their times are reset. The second round will last 5 minutes. This will set positions 1-5.
1. Qualifying will be done in a “race”. The room will be set to 25 laps. We shouldn’t be able to complete 25 laps in 15 minutes worth of qualifying with 3 pace laps, but we should come close. The first segment will have 2 pace laps in order to activate the Pit Road bug.

2. Drivers will be lined up on pit road based on a random draw from Random.org.

3. There will be a five-minute break between each round.

4. The timer for each round will start once the first car crosses the Start/Finish Line.

5. Once time ends in a session and a driver is still on their lap, they will be allowed to complete it.

6. Lap speeds for drivers that advance to the next round reset after each round. Drivers that advance to the next round are locked-in ahead of drivers that did not advance, even if their next round speed is slower that a non-advancing driver’s prior round speed.

7. Drivers that advance to the next round will line up at the exit of Pit Road in preparation for the next round of qualifying. Drivers will not go through Pit Road to get there.

8. Drivers are not allowed to make repairs on Pit Road. If a vehicle is involved in an incident and goes to the Pit Road, it is not allowed to return for qualifying. A car that goes to the Pit Road will be positioned in the starting lineup based on its top lap speed in the last round it completed. Once a driver enters Pit Road, their qualifying session is over, that driver may not advance to the next round.

9. Drivers cannot exit the track and go to the garage. If a car leaves the track, it is removed from qualifying and positioned in the starting lineup by its top lap speed in its last round competed.

10. If there is an incident during qualifying, the qualifying timer will be stopped for the session and we will resume the allotted time when the track is clear. it can also be stopped at the discretion of the managing director of the series.

11. Drivers will be limited to one set of tires for qualifying

12. Drivers are allowed to draft in qualifying session. Drivers are not allowed to tandem draft during qualifying. For any lap in which tandem drafting was involved, the lap will be disallowed for both drivers involved the drivers must serve a drive-through penalty. Drivers are allowed to bump each other, but drivers are not allowed to stay glued to each other.

13. A driver does not have to compete for the entire duration of a session, but the vehicle must complete one lap in order to record a qualifying time. This is a good strategy to avoid being involved in a wreck. Once a driver is satisfied with their lap, they are to pull over in the skid pad area before Pit Road. Drivers are allowed to resume driving if they find that their lap time is no longer good enough.

14. If multiple vehicles are tied with the same top lap speed, at the end of a round, whichever driver set the duplicate time first would start in front of the other.

15. If qualifying is ended prematurely and one or more qualifying sessions are completed, the starting positions will be determined based on the most-recently completed qualifying sessions.

Qualifying for the Daytona 500
The Qualifying for the Daytona 500 will be split into two stages, initial Qualifying and the Daytona Duels. For the initial Qualifying, all drivers will receive 1 out lap and 2 timed laps. Placement order will be determined by the fastest lap lap time for each driver. This initial Qualifying will be run immediately before the Daytona Duels. The first Daytona Duel will include the drivers that placed in the odd positions from the initial qualifying. (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.) The results of this race will determine the inside starting grid for the Daytona 500. The second Daytona Duel will include the drivers that placed in the even positions from the initial qualifying. (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.) The results of this race will determine the outside starting grid for the Daytona 500. 1st and 2nd place from the initial qualifying will start in 1st and 2nd positions in the Daytona 500 regardless of where they placed in the Daytona Duels.

Caution Procedure

A Caution will be called if there is a wreck or if there is debris knocked onto the track. There will be absolutely no passing during a Caution, from the moment that the Caution is called, unless otherwise directed by a Race Director. The field is frozen instantly. We DO NOT race back to the line. In the event of a Caution, drivers will slow down carefully, to the pace speed of the track. When a Caution is thrown, do not slam on your brakes to slow down. If you slam on your brakes, and it causes an accident, you will be penalized.

When the Caution comes out, the Pit Lane is immediately closed. Entering Pit Road when it is closed is a penalty of restarting at the end of the longest line. If a driver is already on Pit Road when the Caution comes out, that driver will not be penalized. Pit Road will be closed until a Race Director announces that it is open. Drivers are allowed to pit even if Pit Road is closed if they have excessive damage that is making their car too difficult to drive. However, if any driver pits while Pit Road is closed, they will start at the back in the restart. (On the outside of or behind the car the caused the Caution.) In addition, that driver will be ineligible for a Wave Around that Caution.

During a "Quickie Yellow" all cars may enter pit road the first time by when it is opened. After the pit stops, the first car a lap down at the moment of Caution (known as the Free Pass car) will get to go around the Pace Car and start the race at the end of the longest line.

During a full Yellow, only Lead Lap cars may pit the first time by Pit Road. Once the Lead Lap cars who have decided to pit have entered Pit Road, the Free Pass car will be sent around the Pace Car to earn their lap back. The next time by, all cars (including the Free Pass car) may pit. (The Free Pass car MUST pit.)

Cars may pit as often as they wish at the expense of track position.

Aggressive driving and retaliations under Caution will NOT be permitted and drivers will be penalized accordingly. Drivers who hit other cars and cause damage during a Caution will be penalized with a drive-thru penalty right before the restart. The Caution will be extended to allow the driver that was hit to pit again if pit stops have already occurred. That driver will be allowed to regain their position.

If a driver spins out during a Caution, racers will be allowed to pass that driver. (If drivers are already formed up behind the Pace Car, then racers will only be allowed to pass the driver that spun out as long as they do not exceed the pace speed.) Racers will not be allowed to pass the driver that spun out once that driver is back up to pace speed. If the driver that spun out is damaged as a result of their spin out, the Caution WILL NOT be extended. The driver that spun out WILL NOT get their position back.

During a Caution you may signal other drivers to pass you by moving off of the track and slowing your speed. If you do this, you will only be allowed to take your position back at the call of the Race Director if you were typing something important in the in-game chat.

The field will remain under Caution until everything is set to resume racing under safe and fair conditions.

At the one to go signal, any car that is ahead of the leader of the race will be waved around the rear of the field. These cars are not permitted to pit until after the Green Flag comes back out and the race has resumed.

Pitting

Approaching Pit Road there will be a turn off point to enter Pit Road. After a certain point there will be a Commitment Line where drivers will not be able to change their mind and they must enter Pit Road, which will be announced by the Race Director.

Under Caution drivers may pit as many times as they would like. However, the first time by Pit Road will only be open to the lead lap cars. The second time by, everyone may pit. Cars a lap down pitting with the lead lap cars will be send to the tail end of the longest line. See Beneficiary Rule: (Also known as Free Pass or Lucky Dog Rule.)

When there is a Caution, after the pit stops, the first car a lap down at the moment of Caution (known as the Free Pass car) will get to go around the Pace Car and start the race at the end of the longest line. After the Pace Car comes out, the Lucky Dog will carefully pass the Pace Car at the call of a Race Steward and take a lap around the track. After the Lucky Dog takes his lap, he will get back in line behind the lapped cars. The Lucky Dog must pit with the lapped cars instead of the lead lap cars for this Caution. If the Free Pass car is judged to have caused the Caution (intentionally or not) there will be no Free Pass car. If the driver is a lap down because of a penalty, the driver will not be eligible for the Free Pass. The "Lucky Dog" rule does not apply during the last 10 laps of the race.

Starts and Restarts
Starts and Restarts will be Double File. The leader will get their choice of lane for the front row. For the rest of the rows, even positions will be on the outside and odd positions being on the inside for all of the rows. There is to be no changing lanes until after your car has passed the Start/Finish Line. If you're on the inside row and the outside row gets a better jump, you're stuck on the inside row until your car passes the Start/Finish Line and vice-versa.

The Restart order is always this: Lead Lap Cars > Disconnect Caution Cars > Cars 1 or more laps down > Free Pass Car > Wave Arounds > Cars that have received a penalty. Once the Pace Car has pulled onto Pit Road, the leader will have control of the field at Pace Speed. There will be a Restart "Box" at a point on the track that will be marked by the Race Director in the drivers meeting. Once the front row has entered the Restart Box, both cars are free to accelerate to take the Green Flag.

Network Disconnect Cautions
When a driver has a network disconnect and is forced out from the lounge of an event race, a “Disconnect Caution” will be waved. NAT Type 1 or 2 are required to race, NAT Type 3 is prohibited. If you wish to retire from the race, enter Pit Road, do not click "OK", or if you do IMMEDIATELY hit Start. This will ensure that you car stays in it's pit stall for the remainder of the race. If you need to leave the room, make sure we know that you are leaving so we know that you haven't been disconnected. You still need to drive yourself to Pit Road before leaving the room.

A. Disconnect Cautions resemble mechanical issues/failures, this MUST be the said driver’s first network disconnect of the race.

B. The standing Race Director will call for the Caution when noted that the qualifying driver has left the room.

C. Standard Caution procedure will be observed until the first time by when Pit Road would be open, at that time a Red Flag will be called.

D. All drivers will gradually come to a stop on the track.

E. The disconnected driver will then have 5 minutes, from the moment of the Red Flag, to re-enter the room. If the driver has not returned within the time limit, standard Caution procedure will resume.

F. If the driver returns, all drivers will enter pit road and fill up on fuel, after this the Red Flag will resume and Official’s will take a tally and placement of current drivers for the Restart.

G. Drivers will then back out of the race and the host will set the laps to the remaining amount. (Additional Pace Laps may be needed if there are lapped cars.)

H. The disconnected driver will restart at the rear of the field.

I. If there are lapped cars, the lapped cars will pull over to the side of the track on the backstretch and will rejoin the lead lap cars when they are the correct amount of laps down. The field will remain under Caution until all cars are the laps down they should be before the disconnection occurred.

J. If a car was positioned to receive a wave around, they will not receive the wave around.

K. Standard restart procedure will be followed on the final Pace Lap.

L. Disconnect Cautions will not occur with 10 or less laps to go.

M. If a driver is disconnected a second time, a second Disconnect Caution WILL NOT be granted, the driver will record a DNF, and may remain in the lounge area.

N. Exception to "M." Drivers will be able to re-enter a race if there is another Disconnect Caution. If another Disconnect Caution is called later in the race, and the field is reset along with the room, that driver will be granted re-entry to the race. It is as if their car was taken behind the wall for repairs. Drivers who re-enter this way will restart the race 5 laps down in relation to the last place car. (Unless they were less than 5 laps down in relation to the last place car, in which case they will be the number of laps down that they actually were.) Lapped drivers will pull off to a designated spot and wait for lead lap drivers to pass them additional times until they are the correct number of laps down. Drivers who re-enter the race in this way, and are more than 5 laps down, will not be eligible for a Free Pass or a Wave Around until there has been enough times where they would have been waved around, where they would actually be 5 laps down. (Help from Officials will be available if necessary.)

Wrecks on the Last Lap
If the leader has taken the White Flag and the caution flag is displayed, the field is frozen and the race will not be restarted. The race is over. The field is frozen at the Moment of Caution. For scoring purposes the Moment of Caution will be official 6 seconds after the wreck begins. However, if there is an incident during the final lap behind the leaders, and the run to the finish line is clear for the leaders, the Caution may be delayed until the leader has taken the Checkered Flag. This allow an opportunity for the leaders to race for the win.

For cars that are involved in the wreck, the cars must be back on the track and moving at a fairly reasonable speed comparable to the track and the Caution Speed Limit in order to hold position. Drivers will be allowed to pass cars that are still recovering from the wreck.

Penalty Procedure
To perform a drive-through penalty, enter Pit Road in while going backwards; this will force your car to reset and drive-thru Pit Road without pitting. Running a Pit Stop when you are required to do a Drive-through Penalty will result in another Drive-through penalty when you arrive at Pit Road after going around the track.

The following is a list of NASCAR penalties.

Restarting at the End of the Line for the Ensuing Restart
1.
Pitting before Pit Road is open. This includes drivers pitting when they are a lap down when Pit Road is only open for the Lead Lap Cars as pit road would still be closed for Lapped Cars.

2. Pitting out of order.

Pit for Heavy Damage
3.
Driving a car with heavy damage, to the point where it is difficult to control the car, or with engine damage, will result in the driver having to pit.

Restarting at the End of the Line (Caution) or Drive-through Penalty (Green Flag)
4.
Cars must enter pit road in single file. If a driver is out of line, this will result in a penalty.
5. Speeding while entering Pit Road. The game may reset the driver for speeding, this is also an acceptable penalty on some occasions.

6. Passing on pit road from the inside on entry.

7. A Commitment Line Violation.

8. Going above the Blend Line exiting Pit Road. (Except under Caution.)

Stop and Go Penalty
9.
Speeding on pit road during a drive-through penalty.

Drive-through Penalty
10.
Accelerating before the Restart Line on a Start or Restart.

11. Under Caution, passing after the second to last turn on the "One to Go" signal.

12. Passing on a Start or Restart before the Start/Finish Line,

13. Not being bunched up with the group on a Start or Restart.

14. Changing lanes after the leader has entered the Restart Box on a Restart. This includes the lane changes caused by warming your tires.

15NT. (For Nationwide and Trucks only.) Tandem drafting. Drivers are allowed to bump each other, but drivers are not allowed to stay glued to each other.

-1 Lap Penalties
(Holds the car until all the cars have made one lap.)
16. Not serving a Drive-Through Penalty when required, or, in a more severe case, see the Out of Race procedure. (Penalty #29.)

17. Speeding on Pit Road while serving a Drive-Through Penalty.

18. Passing the Pace Car without specific permission from Race Control.

19. Pulling up to pit; drivers must maintain position in relation to the field under Caution.

20. Passing a car under Caution that is heading to pit until they are on Pit Road.

21. Damaging a car under Caution. A more severe penalty may be induced.

Penalties Under Race Director Discretion
These can result in a simple restart at the tail of the field, a multiple lap penalty, or disqualification.

22. Disobeying a request from the Race Director.

23. Intentionally causing a Caution.

24. Verbal abuse to an Official.

25. Disobeying a Black Flag or penalty.

26. If a driver is retaliating against other drivers they will be kicked from the room and then the Disconnection Caution procedure will then be followed so that the host may rejoin the race.

End of Race
27.
If there are not enough laps left in the race for a driver to serve a penalty, then they will be penalized after the race by being dropped to the last position for the current lap that they are on. (Example: If a driver is on the lead lap and he doesn't have enough time to serve the penalty, they will finish as the last car on the lead lap, ahead of any lapped cars.)

Daytona's Yellow Line Rule
28.
Driving below the yellow line to advance your position is subject to a drive-through penalty, or if the foul occurs on the last lap that car will be regulated to the last car on the lead lap in official race results. Drivers may not complete a pass if any portion of that pass was below the yellow line. Drivers will not have to take the penalty if it is determined that the car that driver was passing forced the driver below the yellow line. Cars are allowed to pass other cars when they are "out of bounds", (below the Yellow Line) if they are doing so to avoid a wreck that is in progress.

Out of Race
29.
Failure to comply with a Drive-Through Penalty within 3 laps will result in a disqualification where the driver must go to Pit Road and wait there until the end of the race. Failure to do that will result in the Host leaving the race and kicking the offending driver from the room. The Disconnection Caution procedure will then be followed so that the host may rejoin the race. If a driver does not serve their penalty within 3 laps, but continues to finish the race and is not kicked from the room, the driver's last lap will be 3 laps after they received the order to go the pit road for the drive-thru penalty. This also applies for drivers that do not pit because of penalty #4. This only applies if the Race Director saw the penalty during the race and the driver was told about said penalty. Otherwise, in the case of a Drive-through Penalty not being served, the driver will be scored with -1 lap. (Penalty #15.)

Note: If a driver was supposed to be scored as 1 lap down and they earn their lap back for scoring due to a Caution, when the game (correctly) shows them as the leader. That driver will not scored as on the lead lap until the correctly scored leader passes them. Example: A driver leading the race in the game should actually be scored a lap down. When the Caution comes out, they are scored as getting a Wave Around getting back on the lead lap. The driver restarts up front. That driver needs to get passed by the driver who has been getting scored as the leader before they can be scored as on the lead lap.

Probation
Under certain circumstances a driver may be placed on probation. When a driver is on probation, if they are seen breaking any rules (this includes not following the GTPlanet OLR and/or the Good Racecraft Guide) they may be banned for 1 race.

The italicized events are the real life events when they are on T.V. All GT6 events have "GT6" listed before them. Most events are listed as "after" meaning once the prior event is finished. For example, for the Daytona 500 on GT6, the room will open after the real life Daytona 500's coverage is over on T.V.

Sorry if the schedule was confusing. If you have any ideas to make it easier to read, please let me know.

That's actually my next race to start testing for. If you would like to help with the testing you can add me on PSN. I'm going to watch last year's Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona before testing in order to see the exact speeds that we should set the cars up for. Unfortunately, on GT6 you can't always go by the car specs that you can find online.

Major Update

The Battle at the Beach event has been removed. It's a difficult event as is and there is a lot going on. If there is interest in the event after Speedweeks has concluded, then I would be happy to attempt it.

Some practices have been moved around to fill in the Battle at the Beach gap and to spread them out more.

If you intend to race in these events please make a post stating which ones AND send me a Friend Request on PSN with "Speedweeks" in the message if you have not done so already. If you have a car number you would like to run for ARCA, NASCAR Nationwide, and/or NASCAR Cup please post it and I will try to reserve those cars for you. I'm pretty sure that trobes wants the 14, and if carl is racing he said he wanted the 24. If not I'm taking it. Consider the 24 reserved already.

Truck testing is almost complete, if you intend to run in the truck race please post which truck and what color. We have been working very hard to make them as even as possible.

The first ARCA practice is tonight. I hope that some of you pop in and say hello.

The ARCA rulebook has been posted.

The NASCAR rulebook will be posted either later today or tomorrow. I've been working for the past 3 hours typing all these updates. Mainly summarizing the ARCA rulebook down from 65 pages to 7 pages. I know it's a bit long, but please read it if you intend to participate in the ARCA race. At least it's not 65 pages long.

Sign me up for everything. Also I'd like to reserve the #43 for ARCA, Nationwide, & Cup. For truck I'm gonna run a Ford with a WR Blue Mica body, & Grand Prix white rims. Also how is IROC gonna work?

#14 for me, and i'll try to be in ALL of them, thats right, ALL OF THEM. p.s. i'm typing this at school

IROC colors are going to be assigned at random. If you don't already have the color assigned to you in your existing paint colors, there will also be a guide telling you what car you need to buy to get that color. I'm trying to find a paint guide here on GTPlanet. It would be nice if someone had one listing all the colors and the cheapest cars to get those colors. Not having much luck so far though. I might end up having to do it the hard way and search through some dealerships. Some colors might be really easy, other might be difficult. If I ever get the time, I might even make that paint guide if nobody else does... I'd really rather not be the person to put all that work in though. I have enough to do right now.

Sure. Don't get on GTP at school, silly trobes, Trix are for kids. Wait, what? This is what happens when I'm up for 22 hours then get 6 hours of sleep in increments of 2 hours. (Mainly I wanted to call you silly and it reminded me of the Trix commercial.) Seriously though, I wouldn't want you to get in trouble at school because you're going on websites that are unrelated to school work because of an event I'm hosting. Looks like you had an early release though. (Unless you're on Skype at school too.) I sent you a message asking you if you were on your PS3. (I'm not at the moment.) I don't know if I'm going to go back to sleep or get on GT6 for some testing before the ARCA practice tonight. You didn't tell me your truck in your post. Yes, I remember you want the Dodge Ram though, and I can't remember the color you have.

For IROC might I suggest giving colors to people as they sign up for it?

Which colors depend on the amount of participants. In addition, I was going to run a list of all participants through a randomizer in order to truly randomly assign the colors. In order to do that correctly, I would need the full list of participants in order to match the colors up on a 1:1 ratio.
