what do the dead zone settings do on the g-25 set up section
accelerator dead zone
brake dead zone...
not just for scc but most games seem to have this setting to adjust.
It makes it less sensitive as it gives an area of free play. In general most (real) cars have a small deadzone on the steering wheel (dead on center) and in the pedals for the first 1/2 cms of travel. Otherwise most people driving down the road would be oscillating left and right while trying to drive straight.
If real cars have a deadzone, it's not intentionally. It's wear or a constraint of the construction.
You have effects of torsion in the steering system but that's no real deadzone.
Deadzone means: Up to a certain value the output is 0.
If you have a deadzone of 10% all input to your device up 10% of the complete range generates an output of 0.
Deadzone can also happen at the other end of the range. All Input above 90% produces max. Output.
In some games you can adjust those values. SHIFT e.g. has terrible default values.
That's not exactly true drivatar. Almost all road cars have a small deadzone on center in the steering. And have you ever pushed the gas pedal of a Mercedes (pre 2005) just a cms. It does almost nothing.
