It's called COPPA, guys. US National law, not Jordan's idea; GTPlanet just has to abide by it.
 
How long has the act been around? I don't recall changing my age when I signed up, plus I remember being incredibly vocal about only being nine (anyone in the tuning GT4 tuning forum at the time may recall).
 
Yes, it may as well be something that can get the site prosecuted under US federal child protection laws and not something major...

It is stupid that a website is responsible for a child, rather than the parents of said child.
Parents should be responsible for what their child does and should pay attention to what they do on the internet.

1998. It may not have been automatically in the software when you registered though, I can't remember when vBulletin added it, and it was an optional toggle when they did.
