Stll 3rd Nov. on banner

That means nothing because it was obviously Sony who contacted the likes of play.com and said the release date has changed from 3rd to 5th.

i'm debating on whether to hold back until i can counter steer on prologue as i keep spinning r8's!!
Could someone please clarify (post a link to some official SONY announcement ?) if the delay till November 5 considers all European countries ? Particularly Poland ?and if the delay also considers SIGNATURE edition or only standard or collectors edition ?...
Jay if your reading, sound familiar, Amazon, Information, not official etc.
Lol.
If it's not official surely this threads title is less factual than it looks, and therefore really should be corrected.
Yes, that thought had occurred to me too. I was going to add a question mark to the end, but that doesn't really change how it looks in the forum overview![]()
There hasn't been any official announcement. This is why the Release Date thread still shows the same November 3rd date that the official site's ad banner shows.
Some games retailers have e-mailed customers to say that there has been a delay until the 5th, but there has been no word or press release from Sony to confirm this.
So when the play.com email said "The manufacturer of the product has informed us the release date has changed to the 5th November" who do you think they are referring to!!If it's not official surely this threads title is less factual than it looks, and therefore really should be corrected.

As far as im concerned the 3rd of November was never a definate date for the UK. The official UK website just says November. Now for Europe it states from the 3rd November. The clue is in the word FROM which doesn't actually mean it will come out on the 3rd November in the UK.
Unfortunately some are clutching at straws hoping the release date will still be the 3rd November when the evidence suggests 5th.
Are there rules which prevent that?
Well according to this link it just says November 2010.Who cares? Sony haven't told anyone else any different.
The official UK website says "November 3" in the ad banner in the largest font size anywhere on the site.
There is the same evidence for the 5th November being the release date as there was for 27th November 2009 and 25th September 2009.
Please do not lecture people on clutching at straws or evidence.
We have no reason to assume Sony have changed the release date until Sony tell us they have changed the release date. It's as true now as it was a year ago when you were guessing release dates based on distributors. You may be right. You may be wrong. Either way, until Sony say something, it's irrelevant.

I don't understand why you say "Until Sony say something". So if Sony didn't contact play.com who did!
* The release date that comes from SCE or Polyphony Digital themselves is the actual, albeit projected, release date.
* A release date that comes from a shop, a shop's website, a shop employee or anything to do with a shop is not the release date unless there's a fluke coincidence
* Neither is one you heard from some blog somewhere.
* Or a mate who knows this guy who...

We have no reason to assume Sony have changed the release date
I think there is very good reason to assume Sony have changed the release date. It is very unlikely that a retailer would chose to delay a high profile title. It is even more unlikely that several independent retailers would chose to delay the same title at the same time.
You can either think that this is some highly unlikely coincidence, or that Sony (or a major distributor) changed the date for the UK. It is not a sure thing, but logic alone should tell you it is the sensible thing to think.
What I think is irrelevant also.
The rules are clear. Until and unless Sony release a statement, press release or announcement that says that GT will be on any date other than November 3rd in the UK (and/or changes the banner ad on the UK site), the Release Date thread will still carry that date.

Rules? Release date thread? No idea what you are talking about there. I was just responding to your comments about what one should 'assume' at this stage.
