Delay for UK?

Simple, cancel your pre-order with Amazon and get it from somewhere that'll honour the actual release date, like I've just done.

Which store has turned round to you and confirmed they will definitely get you the game on the 3rd? Or have they simply told you that they will get it to you by the release date without confirming the actual date so if you get it on the 5th they haven't lied to you?
 
3rd/5th, what's the big deal?

We have waited for over 3 years for this title to appear, I can't see what one or two days difference will make. Some people need to get a life!

It's helpful to at least know in advance. When I expected release date to be the 3rd I booked the 5th off work, knowing I'd have my copy for sure by then and could spend a peaceful day playing it. With release scheduled for the 5th I know there's a slight chance I might have it on the 4th, meaning I can still play on the 5th, but there's a better chance that I won't get it until maybe 2pm on the 5th...

A few days don't make much difference in the overall anticipation, but they can make a difference in terms of good days and bad days for people to start new things.

yup, means i will be booking the week starting 08th off rather than 01st. Makes a lot more difference than just being a 2 day extra wait :)

This is exactly what I meant about getting a life, it's a game for God's sake. 3rd or 5th wouldn't make a jot of difference to you as you've already booked off the Friday anyway. Worst case scenario would be that your copy gets snarled up in the post and it doesn't arrive until the following week. What happens then, deep depression?

I'm confident that Amazon will deliver my copy to me on the 4th but if not6, so what. I'm far more worried about mates serving in Helmund Provence at the moment. It rather puts things into perspective for me!

Ah, that old chestnut. We all have things going on in our lives that are much more important than games, but they're really not relevant to discussion of a game on a gaming forum. If they are relevant, and we shouldn't have any separation of the trivial from the important, why on earth are you wasting your time telling other people to get lives in a thread that is of no direct interest to you? Nothing better to do?

As for deep depression, not at all. Mild irritation that I'd have "wasted" my last available holiday day for this year, having earmarked it for something specific. Not hard to understand for most people.

Each to their own Khaddar. I hope your copy of the game arrives when it should and you enjoy the last available holiday day.
 
Im mildly irritated, but I think I'll live. I made sure I booked the following week off work as I rather expected something like this to happen.
 
It's the traditional release date of games for that region.

EU/NA have their games released on wednesday.

But the UK to be difference (probably other reasons) more often than not has it's games released on a Friday.

Here in Japan, taking holiday for no good reason is really frowned upon. Pretty much everyone takes a few days holiday in the summer and let the rest of their vacation days go to waste. The irony is that everyone wants to take holiday but their feelings of guilt prevent them from doing so.

My advice would be to not let your last day off go to waste. You might not be able to play GT5 on that day but you should enjoy yourself. Do something that makes you feel glad to be alive.

From what I recall from my time there, there are quite a lot of things like that that happen in Japan. Very interesting place, with more interesting cultures and people.

Sound advice though, don't waste the holiday man!
 
Ah right so we have had our delay from the 2nd to the 5th. I'm ok with that.

You can create new threads, just not in the GT5 forum. A thread about when Game charge your credit card has nothing to do with GT5, and so doesn't belong there anyway.
 
Well atleast we don't worry about getting it later than everyone else now then. ;)
 
Given that the delay is now confirmed for all markets we can keep this to one thread (as its more than enough to try and keep that one clean).
