Welcome to the DeLorean Back to the Future Day on October 21st.
This special day is already followed by over 40,000 people on Facebook;

https://www.facebook.com/October212015BTTF

Special Stage Route 5_26.jpg

People from all over the world will celebrate this day in one way or
another because that is the date Marty and Doc travels to in
Back to the Future Part II (1989).

The BTTF trilogy of films are cult classics and there will be one race
held in the GT6 community in honor of Oct 21st, 2015.

It is a one-make DeLorean race with tuning prohibited.
The power limiter must be used in order to reduce the BHP
to what the car had in the trilogy (the original DeLorean),
namely 130 BHP.

Race regulations: DeLorean race.
Qualifying: 7 minutes
Race: 40 minutes
Comfort: Hard
Aids: Only driving line

The race is already added as a club event so if you want to practice
ahead of time just open up the pre-set lobby and give it a go.

GT6 has been updated to version 1.21 and the DeLorean time
machine in the movie trilogy requires 1.21 gigawatts of electricity,
needed for the nuclear reaction via the plutonium that it runs on.
:)

Coincidence? I think not.

thanks for driving the Sambabus, Paul ;)

Doc
: Well, there are plenty worse places to be than the Old West.
I could've ended up in the Dark Ages.

Race #1 (Dry & Sunny)

Marty:
Doc! You're not gonna believe this, we gotta go back to 1955.
Doc: I don't believe it!

1955 Doc: Yes, well, I'm hoping to see some lightning tonight.
1985 Doc: Oh there's going to be plenty of rain all right.

Race #2 (100% rain)

Doc: You've got to get out and change clothes.
Marty: Right now? It's pouring rain.
Doc: Wait five more seconds.
...
Doc: Right on the tick. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
Too bad the post office isn't as efficient as the GT6 weather service.

Race #3 (Dry)

Marty: Where are we? When are we?
Doc: We're descending toward Fuji Valley, Japan, at 8:29 pm, on Saturday, January 17th, 2015.
Marty: 2015? You mean we're in the future !?

images

Marty: I had a horrible nightmare. It was terrible.
Lorraine: Well, you're safe and sound now. Back on the good old Fuji grid.
Marty: The Fuji grid !!?

I would be very interested in such an event even though it is set with Racing compound, light damage and no PP restrictions...
For info, the Dome has to to be one of my favorites when racing PP400-CM.
As for the DeLorean, it very efficient @ PP500-SH...
Weight and bhp restrictions seem to be enough for leveling the cars though...
looking forward to this...

I am so used to driving the Z8 with 500pp/SH/HD at this point that I wanted to do something completely different.
If this event is successful we could run it again with different tyres and pp restrictions. :)

Good, I was wondering about that myself. I tried them both for a bit with the settings above but need to drive some more to gain more knowledge.
looking forward to this
Awesome :dopey:

Looks interesting. I'm not really looking to race but I just wanted to say that "D-Day" sounds like it. Have fun guys. 👍

These cars are similar in design, they have the same size engine, both are rear-wheel driven, both naturally aspirated. It could be interesting to race them at the same time on track.

My idea is that eight Dome's are available and eight DeLorean's.
So it's first come, first choice.
When the grid is big enough we can decide on a date/time.

You can't fit a wing/spoiler on the Dome so therefore wings are prohibited on the DeLorean.

I haven't decided yet which of the two I want to race with so I will wait a little bit before announcing it.

You race the same car in both races and they will be held back-to-back.

I'm interested too, but I'll just be able to racing again in January 2015, probably...

Jocke, why did you prohibited the use of wings? Wings would give an autentic race look.

Ome if the cars can't equip wings

Hey Jocke, I have a question. What do you mean by 300HP/1100 KG? Are those limits or minimums?

I tested my DMC and I found it running 1:56 on the Daytona Road course.

Also, guy above me made a nice choice.

OK. But the Delorean can have wings, so why forbidden the wings for Delorean?
Tell you what Harsk, if you by some divine miracle should make this grid I just might consider to allow you to mount a wing on your car.
But only you Harsk, no one else. :mischievous:
What are the tuning/PP restrictions? I see you wrote "Free Tuning" and just wondered how free
Follow the BHP/Weight settings and the rest is up to you. 👍
What do you mean by 300HP/1100 KG?
300 BHP is the maximum and 1100 kg the minimum. They both need extra horse power, Dome needs ballast while DeLorean needs weight reduction.
I think he is looking for Jocke`s sign up office
Great Scott!
Should be a fun race.
Great Mik :)
The Dome seems to be the unpopular choice at the moment so I will drive that to even things up a bit
You and me then, copes.
I'm always fond of the underdogs and root for them when I can. So I will also go with the Dome.
As long as it's capable of going 88 miles per hour and able to outrun the Libyans I'll be okay.
