It also makes them wierd. I used to live with an ex-girlfriend who was bi-polar. They cannot be talked out of it. They operate in another reality that only vaguely overlaps the one you and most others are in. It's maddening for those around the depressed person.
I'm sure that if tested at a random time, %50 chance that doctors would diagnose me with depression. Why? I don't know. If they don't, they'd mark it off as me just being an unusually negative person....
