Here I am reading through all of these comments about awesome gear and feeling that my lowly level 25 will never get stronger.

I dont know how people get these awesome engrams. I am lucky if I find a blue. I was hoping leveling up the cryptarch would be valuable but I feel as if the time invested was in vain.

Awesome game, I love it but the grinding is on another level! I have been playing for 3 weeks and I have only seen one purple engram, when I took it to the crpytarch It was a hunter chest armor, but guess what? I only have a Titan and a Warlock :(

You dont even want to know the amount of time it took to get that "awesome gear" You've been playing 3 weeks, most of us have been playing since September. It's just grinding, grinding, and more grinding. Once your done doing that, grind some more. Most people here have three characters that they run back to back with the Heroic, Nightfalls, and the Raids. I'm sure you can imagine the amount of time that would be :lol:

Luckily for me, my legendary engrams haven't turned into a different class to often.

You know that part where you die at a point where respawning is prohibited? And the message afterwards says:

"The Darkness has consumed you" It should read "destiny has consumed you" Even knowing that intimidating fact of how much there is left to do, something inside of me is almost looking forward to it. Been grinding mostly in Skywatch and Venus but man, those engrams are tough to come by.

What is tough to do is doing Nightfall on Solo. May be the hardest challenge due to the penalty assigned to the mode.

The most reliable way to get legendary gear is to earn marks and buy it. Second most reliable way, for me at least, is to rank up factions and get it from faction packages. You can do the strike playlist, but I find that I rarely get anything purple, but you do get Vanguard marks for your trouble.

That seems like a good way to rank up my soldiers, rather than arbitrarily looking for groups of enemies to kill and doing bounties. I have joined Dead Orbit so we'll see how that plays out. Thanks for the tip!

Do you play PVP much? Dead orbit will only use Crucible points, and the only way to earn those would be through PvP. You will get rewards for leveling them past level 2, but as for buying armor and weapon's, you'll need to play the Crucible. If you already do, then you're all good 👍
 
Didn't get anything really worthwhile from Nightfall this week. Best thing I got was the Dead Orbit sniper rifle. It has decent perks, but the available scopes weren't really to my liking. I'll probably never really use it anyway since I prefer my LDR. From the Weekly I did get a legendary engram that turned into a Helm of Inmost Light, but I don't have a Titan. I would have kept it anyway if it didn't have a horrendous roll of +92 STR. Oh well, free shard.

I got all dupes this week. My 3rd Hawkmoon, my 3rd Icebreaker and a 2nd Light Beyond Nemesis that had a 92 Strength roll as well.
 
Nightfall I got a Crappy shotgun and pulse rifle or 5 energy as they are now and12 strange coins. Nothing from 3 Crota norm and nothing from 3 Crota hard. And nothing from gorgon, and a vex from 3 atheon hard. My patience is getting tested to breaking point now.
 
Still have 2 NFs to do, got Beyond Nemesis tho from the one I did with my warlock, didn't have it so that was good!
 
Within the last 4 days I've received 4 exotic bounties. Now all 3 of my characters have the Super Good Advice bounty waiting for Xur so I can buy the component to advance. Yay, three easy shards.

It will complete the imaginary set of Warlock armor. In other news, it will complete the hunter exotics for me.

Got a Heart of the Praxic Fire from an exotic chest engram with a 169 Discipline. That's 30 higher than the one I got last week.

Double update: I have heard from a source who has correctly listed the last 4 strikes that next week's nightfall will be Rainbow Archon Priest.

Wow. I literally just finished the Super Good Advice bounty 3 times yesterday, once for each character, and I just got one again today. Four Super Good Advices in a week.

Vex Mythoclast is the only thing I still need from VoG. I didn't get it from all three runs this week, but on one run I got Monte Carlo instead. I'll take it!

Finished the Crota raid on hard for the first time and got the Word Of Crota! Finally the game throws me a bone before, before I throw it out lol.
 
I am a level 29 hunter, and i just got my second legendary engram. :rolleyes: But anyway, opened it up and out pops an Ice breaker!!!!!!!! Wow that is freaking lucky! Well, it would be, if i hadn't just bought the damn thing 2 days ago!!! :mad:

I know what you mean, over the weekend, @TJisA1337NOOB helped me through some of Crota and managed to get the Truth from a chest, Abyss Defiant and Over soul Edict. When usually I get shards/energies or duplicate gauntlets.
 
I havent played in a couple of weeks, so I decided to throw in Destiny. It was a nice break from the game, I actually enjoyed the time I was back on it. That was, until I did the Nightfall and Heroic with @Oso Actual.. From both weekly missions I got a total of 20 Strange coins and 2 rare engrams. How fun.

I wish I could give you mine. Last VoG run I gout a 4th Corrective and a 2nd Vex. 15 VoG and I'm STILL looking for Fate, VoC or Epilogue.

I will be mad if I get another Hawkmoon (3) or Icebreaker (ditto).

On one run at the Timepiece drop point it gave me two Timepieces at once. I didn't think that was possible, since Timepiece is a hard mode only drop, and I thought one of the drops is from the normal mode loot table.

I've seen two fatebringers drop for people on hard so it's possible.
