Okay so after taking that time out of Destiny so much has changed. I've only just found out about the 'old' exotics have to be upgraded with Xur to make them useful compared to the new items.

And then I see that tje Vanguards sell all new gear.

Not to mention all the Dark below bounites and the fact I've yet to touch the new raid.

Hopefully I'll be able to play some with you guys. I'm off tomorrow but I'm sure in the new year you lot can show me the new raid.
 
I couldn't find the first chest when I ran through the raid yesterday. It says that it's on the side of the first room after falling into the Hellmouth in one of four doors. I keep getting swarmed before finding it.

When You first land, go exact left, there will even be a walkway between the water that you can follow. You'l eventually hit a wall, once you do, go directly right along the wall. There will be a door not to far, you should be able to get there without encountering any Hive. It's not there 100% of the time so you're going to have to die if its not there and try again.
 
I did that. I got it last week but not this week.

Ah, the one day I figured it wouldnt be :P haha. Well I would say keep trying. It took me a good amount of tries to even get it to appear :/ I actually had to do it on two different sittings as I just got frustrated and gave up the first time.
 
I just need a group to do it with, not just 1 person.

A guy I run with got Dragons Breath!

Just finished Crota for the 2nd time, got exactly the same as what I got the 1st time!

Not cool. Swordbreaker isn't great.
 
I just got 3 Husk of the Pit.

Now I need to do the Raid. Either one.
 
I just got another Husk of the Pit as well. Too bad they're kind of useless without the DLC.
 
I received Monte Carlo from that first chest this week. Am yet to get the Husk of the Pit though.

How did you get them?

I know you just kill those sword guys but I've heard it's easier doing it through the fist of crota?

Completely random but that's the easiest way. I got all 3 of them killing random blades on the Earth and moon.

Haha, I hated that. If you have any marks left over you can purchase some armor that should easily get you into 30. Purchasing full armor will get you to 31.
 
I've got a new helmet, greaves and gauntlets. Just need to upgrade them and take my alpha Lupi chest, last word and icebreaker to re-upgrade them with Xur.

With those three, you should be good. I Havent put on a new chest peice yet, and I'm 3 light away from level 31.
 
Only havent one asecendant shard left and still need about 40 odd to finish upgrading my new armour. :(

Any new ways of getting shards quicker?

Aw man, you just brought me to the same sad realization. I dont have any shards to upgrade the Chest piece I'm going to buy! As for shards, the fastest way would probably be the VoG. The new raid drops a different kind of shard/energy. There's also public events, but sometimes you dont even get anything from completing those.
