The Race:
Pro/GT World Championship / Deep Forest (10 Laps)

Tire Specs: T2s ONLY!
Pit Stop(s): One Stop is MANDATORY

Results due at 12:00 Midnight CST 19 Nov 03

Well I must say this car is more than just a match for the big three! Wow! What a race. I came out right behind the 787B and the R390 after pitting. Very close racing until the tires warmed up and then it was "See Ya"!!!:lol:
 
Can you make it the "diablo dirty dozen plus 1"? I would like to join this little series...

Jpec? When did you pick up a sharkport? I don't see why you can't jump right in on this. UB57, can you forward the race rules to Jpec?

The Diablo can't be hacked in the PAL version. Sorry.

fresh lube

no tuning straight out of the box
trans was way to big I think I used 6th once
fastest lap 1'13.3xx
this car sound great at about 8000rpm

:D I've got some trans settings that work well for me, let me know if you need 'em. What a SHAME the PAL guys don't get to hear the exhaust on this thing eh??? On of the sweetest in the game IMO...UB57

oh UB57 you want to hear something sweet I have my ps2 hooked up to a 940 watt 5.1 surround sound with yamaha speakers and a powered 12" woofer and when the 787 runs up behind you and makes a pass it will make you crap your self :D :D :D :D

The only thing I changed on the car was DF, ASM=0, TCS=1, and the trans. Fastest lap in an unsaved race was 1:07.3xx.

When I'm looking for a good racing grid, I want all the fast cars to run against. So far in my best save I beat the R390, 787B and the GT-One.

I brake in just three points.
 
I had a chance to run this tonight, I must say this car is very fun to drive once a bit of tuning is done.:D Right now I'm running in the 1.08's very consistantly except when held up by AI after pitting and usually run into 2 lapped cars on lap 10 that are a major pain. Deep Forest is not a good track for me so I don't think I can run steady 1.07's, but have gotten 1.07.9 once or twice. Here's how I have mine setup if anyone wants to take her for a spin:

Brakes 20/24

LSD 10/40/10

Trans at regular old Auto 28

D/F 1.00/1.25
TCS 1

Between this race, the Clio race for the weekly series, and round #3 for TORC 11, I will be very busy because all three are really really fun to drive! My wife will probably forget what I look like this week :p If you have time you guys should check out the GTP weekly race this week, that Clio is a hoot!:D

Glad to see you make it over, Slowpoke.đź‘Ť I made a few adjustments last night to the suspension and had two 1:07's and low 1:08's

:D The "Fast Guys" are runnin' 1+ seconds per Lap ahead of my 1'09.1xx achieved during testing. Exactly what I was looking for, near "Dead Heat" finishes for the average drivers & NO real "Blow-Outs" for the quicker ones. Thanx All...UB57

Oh boy,looks like we'll all be banging doors with the AI now all the way around the track:eek: I'll try it out later tonight:trouble:
 
Now I have to adjust my target time.:rolleyes: Please no more changes until the next race. One race won't ruin your series. I don't think changing to T2's will slow down the fast drivers. It may actually increase the gap. We'll have to see the results.

I think the point here is more to make all the drivers have to actually compete with the AI throughout most of the race rather than gaining the lead after a few turns and not seeing them again until after pitting, only to blow them away again. I don't think the tire change is intended to help the slower drivers compete with the faster guys, if you know what I mean. :)

Just didn't want to chance losing any Fast Guys cause there wasn't enough challenge.

BTW: Be VERY CAREFUL through the First Right Turn after the 2 tunnels while "Drafting" the GT1 or the R390. They both "Cut the Corner" quite severely!!!...UB57
 
There are other ways to slow the car down other than tire changes. When you go below T2's the "Fun Factor" erodes quickly. I would rather have less HP than drive with less grip. At lest with grip I can keep the car on the track and avoid the AI.

I just ran the race twice with T2's and my second race was only 5 seconds slower so I'm going to keep my original target time from before.

Now these tires don't even heat up. I love watching the replay. The cars sounds great!!:D
 
if we use t2s do we still have to pit once???I haven't tried it on t2s .do you need to pit due to tire wear ?


maybe if one of the faster people in his thread don't mind the next time you use the x port you could send me a reply of one of your runs or a hot lap ??
I just want to see some faster lines to see where I can make up some time.
 
I ran about 100 miles of test-n-tune, then hit the track with T2's firmly screwed down. Hit plenty of high 1:07's in Free Run, but only one in either of the races. But overall am satisfied with my consistancy, many low 1:08's. Still a couple of seconds away from my target time (as GT3Mich would say ;)), those should come off the Blue tire laps. Both races finished ~16 seconds ahead the second place AI.

I gotta agree with 'Mich, I'd rather have less HP and more grip to equalize the racing. Knock off 50 HP and slap on some T5's or 6's and then watch the competition heat up :lol:. Still it was loads of fun UB57, great call!:cheers:

:D Yep, Still need to pit. Got the PS2 Closed down out in my shop for the nite. Will try to send you a "Hot Lap" (well, in my case a "Lukewarm Lap" ASAP)...UB57:D
 
I can post a hot lap attachment tonight if you want.
