I will have to withdraw from this series as i have just received my new pc and have headed off to EA mod land.I just installed GTR2002 and have been spending all my time learning to drive all over again.;)

wow, well im done for tonight. possibly till the deadline. im not sure if i'll be able to get any more runs in before it or not. i feel good about the save i have now tho. its nothing GREAT, but should provide a decent result i hope. it has some light AI contact, but nothing excessive or to what i would consider my advantage. there are a couple instances of 4 wheels breifly off the track around a couple turns but nothing excessive, or nothing id condsider "corner cutting" or to my advantage. I had a couple mid 1'08's, but mostly i was in the mid 1'09 range. fairly consistent, so im hoping it'll give me a good result. God, i always friggin lap the panoz and jaguar at the end of the race and im sure they slow me down as im trying to get aroudn them. they should know to pull over and let me pass like they do in real races, wheres that blue flag when you need it!
 
Ok, I gotta ask, is tuning a big aspect of this race for you guys?

If so, then could you all look at these numbers and tell me where I might be going wrong.

well for one, DEFINENTLY raise that ride height up, this track is way too bumpy and hilly to be running that low, i'd also lower the bound/rebound a little bit too, especially for the rear. makes it a little easier on the tires, everything else doesnt look too bad, maybe strengthen the front springs a little bit. try those out and see if it makes any improvements
 
UB57, glad the settings helped your Diablo, cannot figure out why they didn't work on the Clio!:confused: :banghead: :lol:

I typically hit the final turn at 147 mph, scrubbing to 142/143. I don't max out in 6th either (just over 7K), touching the occasional 168 mph. Oh yeah, I hold 5th gear thru the final turn and hit 6th as I crest the hill onto the front straight.

GoKents, as IDAFC21 said (Hi Gents:tup: ), raise the RH and give the suspension some room to move. Does your car seem jumpy around the curves leading to T1, like you are chasing your tail?? If so, reduce the rear bound to... say around 6 or 7. You might be surprised how much it smooths out.

I hit my race last night. A couple of love taps with the AI at the opening corner, and a couple of spots where I may have more than 2 wheels off, but overall am very pleased with it. I'll be sending in my time and replay (in a PM per the rules) later today as I'm home sick with the Flu! Haven't had the bug in a few years, hafta learn this track all over again ;) And at this age, that ain't easy!:boggled::lol:
 
My consistancy has gone to crap with these T2's, I run a 1.08.1 or something and the very next lap a 1.10.4 pops up :O This is one of my worst tracks anyway but I'l keep at it and see what I can pull out o' my arse.:lol: I'm loking forward to the longer races (on better tracks hopefully;) ) Might try out Slowpoke's or GT3 Mitch's setings to see if they help out a bit, thanks guys.:D

:D Didn't want you to get the idea the settings DIDN'T Work on the Clio. They actually worked so good I've saved them for a possible future race w/different tyre rules.
Boom's race limited us to T6s - T8s for 5 Laps @ GVR. With my "Slower" set up the fronts didn't "Go Red" 'till 3/4 way thru Lap #5. Your set-up was quicker through Lap#4 by a large margin, but the fronts "Went Red" less than 1/2 way thru the last lap. I even tried taking More DF OFF the front but ran out of time, (I only ran your settings twice!), closing to within 00.7xx' of my 5 Lap time. Thanx Again...UB57

I think I'm done. I'm pretty happy with my time and I'm pretty sure its clean.

thanks for the advice fellas. I feel pretty weak right now as Im still running inconsistant laps in the low 1.09 to low 1.10 range.

Hopefully I will be able to get into the high 1.08's in my keeper with my new racing setup. Thanks again, and by the way, ...

sorry to hear Iforce is not staying. His reputation preceeds him. (from a "newbie" with olr, well sorta a newb. anyway :confused: )

Well thanks fellas.

Last night at about wasted in the morning I put down a few laps with the newer concepts for tuning. (ride hieght and dampeners both changed)

I put in a 1.08.5 quickly and kept a steady 1.09 going for a few laps. Unfortunately, I didn't do it in a real race... it was in my first free lap session related to this race.

Im about to go hit this race and see what I can do, I will be back shortly if there are any positive results. :D

I won't be able to get a time in for this one because, simply put, I could not find enough time to get to work on it.:( Hopefully I'll get a chance to run one of the races later in the series.:D Till then, good luck everyone:cool:
 
Well it looks like my initial impression after the free lap session with the new settings was right on.

Just finished a clean keeper that kept all lap times (respectivly) under the 1.10 mark and for the most part, all were low 1.09's.

Finished about 6.5 seconds ahead of the 787 and pitted on the final lap that is allowed. (which is after the ninth and before the tenth.)

Anyway good luck to all, as for me, Im just glad to get a time in. Entered the race late, and I am willing to bet that with a little extra time I may have been able to put down a consistant mid 1.08's race. However, with in this case, Im just glad to get a time in that finished in first place as well as met a general overall goal for time.

plus one minus one; I'm out (I can't compete with the "big three" in the race, so what makes me think I can compete with the rest of the Pros in here?)
 
Ifoce and CFM bailed out, I'm liking the trend.

Now I just need to crush IDAFC21's will to race. haha!

@ boom: While I totally respect you for always posting results within mere moments of the race closing,👍 I can't stay up that late!!! Plus I have a R/L obligation early tomorrow AM. Will do all in my power to get results up by 9:00 AM CST.

AM preparing Race #2 right now & anticipate Posting it within the next 2 Hours. Small hint: it's a "15 Lapper"...UB57

You can't compete when your watching from the sidelines.:p The only way to improve is to race in evrything that you can. Different races, cars, tracks, etc.... Gas up and go! There is still 4 hours or so left to race. What harm will it cause.
The thing I don't understand is when people say they will race and then they don't for what ever reason. If your not going to race, don't say you will and then change your mind. There have been many WRS races that I've submitted with only running that Monday night. Who know's, down the road you could be running a comp and some of the racers decide at the last minute that its too tough and quit. This race isn't that hard to run BTW.
