Before the update racing soft tires were better than racing intermediates or wets in the rain in A-Spec, so I was wondering, was this fixed in the new update?

I don't know about you, but when I raced with my X2010 in the rain with Racing Soft tires (forgot to set tires after weather change), I got curb-stomped by the opposition. I HAD to pit in and swap out my tires for Racing Rain, and then I got TREMENDOUSLY better lap times...

Not sure how this can equate to La Sarthe in Le Mans Prototypes, but I have a hunch that it should be similar... ;)

Just have a quick go mate yourself. I think of it like this. 0%-29% RS' 30%-59% inters . 60%+ Rains. Can't be too hard to test it just have a quick go on an online lobby, set the ground water to 75% and do a couple of laps. I don't think they will be faster than the rains. I think this would only apply if the grip reduction was on low. And still it would be better to be on rains :) 👍

I can't, I'm not at home and I don't want to ruin my Le Mans campaign by choosing the wrong tires when I get back. And The offline physics with grip reduction on low would be a valid test, not online.

I imagine that wouldn't be any different since its been like that since the game came out :)

So the race is offline with grip reduction on low?

Yes. And before the update Racing Softs were faster than Racing Rains in 100% wet.

Usually, with any type of slicks in rain, you'd struggle to pull 0.5G in any corner. However, with the low grip reduction, you will only see a marginal reduction in grip. It is so low that you wouldn't notice it.

So, unless you are racing online with grip reduction set to Real, Use Racing Soft/Med/Hard. Also, take into account the length of the race and pick your compound accordingly. Racing softs now last less than Hards as of update 2.02

Yeh Rh's would be the best being as this sounds like it could be an endurance race, am I correct? :)

Once the track surface meter goes above 50% all the cars will pit for racing rain tires. So it is highly recommend if you want to win do as the competition and go to rains.

I've tried racing the F1 cars on RS in the rain and it's hard to get a fast lap in around 30% and beyond 35% it's almost impossible to drive at all. This is with grip reduction set to real.

So it sounds like RH would be the best option since slicks are better but RS now wears faster. I'm 10 hours in without the update, so once I update I should choose RH not RS.

The race I'm referring to is the A-Spec Le Mans 24 hours, so grip reduction is in fact on low.
