Ah ok so it doesn't import your garage.

Personally I'm going to start from scratch. Grinding your way to earn just a little bit of money made buying that Camaro SS so much more worth it to me.

I was going to just for the credits but since it imports your license as well, I deleted that save and started from scratch. For some reason I love to do the license mode.

i imported my gt3 transfer but it was only $4000 and change :D . No licenses so i had to earn them again. It was worth it in my opinion as it has gotten me use to the physics. My first car is a hatchback but I have not really gotten into the races as i am focusing on getting my IA license and finally the super license tests.

ok...i looked everywhere around gamefaqs and here and I have no idea how to import my gt3 save file? Can any one help me? I just want to start off /w my real life car...civic si...type r...xP
Goto you home in GT mode. You either press start there or go into the status screen and do it. It will say so at the bottom when you get to the right place.

Sorta fitting my first post on GTPlanet is about how I began in GT4.

I didn't take the GT3 money. Like most others said, I wanted to start 4 just like I began 2 and 3. Instead of buying a car yet, I went right to the licenses and focused on getting at least all silver, then used those cars. Seems the Mazda you get for all silver in B license is overpowering for Sunday cup...only gives you 9 A-Spec points. Looks like it's going to be fun trying to get the most points possible. Just another added depth to the game, one i like quite a bit. 👍

I wanted an MR-S, I needed the money!! Besides I need big numbers for motivation... The most A-spec point I got from that car was 30 pts so I guess it wasn't a bad choice~

I wouldn't do, but considering i recently lost my memory card which has all my saved games EVER on it, i guess i don't really have a choice :( Does make the game more fun not to load the licenses and money though :) The start is the best bit.

I think i might import it, but i'll use it al on wheels, Then I'll keep track of how much i had left and wont use it, just inase i need to unlock a car in arcade, i can buy it, sell it and not worry about the loss, acctually i migh tuse it for that at first and waste it all on depreciation.

Why delete them? You can leave them on the same card. It offers to let you import the money but it doesn't do it automatically. I've got my GT3 and GT4 saves on one card.

Can someone please try this;

Import 100,000 cr, then spend all of it on buying and modifying your car. Then Save, Restart GT4, and import 100,000 cr again, will that work?

Yes, imported game save info. My PS2 is chipped so I got the Japanese version when it came out. I've been playing it for a month and a half so I have nothing left to learn. So I imported the save just so I could bank the cash. The licenses are not a big deal being that you have to run them to get the prize cars. I just wish the U.S. and Japanese versions were compatible as far as the save goes so I didn't have to start over.

im sorry but i cannot find where on how you do this save...someone enlighten me please (gets ready for rants)

I did import my GT3 stuff... but then again... I already learned most of the new physics engine on my Japanese PS2 with GT4Prologue and GT4. But thankfully I can now read the menus!! Yippee!!

go to HOME and go to STATUS

u'll see how u can do it.... it doesn't matter if the GT3 save is in slot 1 or 2... the game will search both

I wanted to get a fresh start not doing bad either i still have my first car. ive only bought 2 new cars 64 GTO and Chevy SSR i also working on buying the buick GN. i have all my licenses i golded all of them with the help of my buddy nick we knocked them out in a all nighter, after that he copied my data and he went home where he sold all his cars and bought every muscle car in sight. i actually race my price cars i only sold 2 the Lupo and the Model T. my favorite car out of the prize group is the Dome Zero.

I did not transfer the GT3 data. This drives VERY different than GT3, so I'm happy to take my time and learn the new characteristics. Unlike GT3, I feel GT4 is much less controller friendly, and I think the wheel will be much more necessary. Can you say understeer??! The game is saturated withit (at least in the license tests thus far)

Anyway I'm happy to still be working on my A license. I got all silvers on my B, and am almost through with all silvers on the A. I've done absolutely nothing else in this game at all and I've been playing all day. I waited long enough for this damn game, I'm sure as hell not going to rush through any of it. I'm going to savor every last ouce of this thing.

Wait a minute wait a minute........is it true you can import your license test trophies from GT3 into GT4? I got all ****ing GOLDS in GT3. Took like 2 months! :lol :lol

I just imported my credits, but I didn't spend it on a fast ass car and upgrade it to the max. I bought a good slow learning car.

sadly you CANNOT since the tests are different from GT3, u only get a pass but if u want cars u'll have to do the tests

Do not transfer credit from GT3 because it may ruin your entire Gt4 joy. You know, i tranfered my credit and bought a Mustang GT 05, I won a number of races with it, but I didn't really feel happy after winning, i felt like i didn't earn it, it just feel too easy, I don't have the "yes, I did it" feeling with Mazda MX 5 in GT3. That's why tonight, i restart GT4, only transfer the A and B license, use my 10000 credits to buy a 89 Skyline, won Sunday cup with it, and you know what, the feeling is back, i smile to myself after winning the race...he..he

I know th feeling Kenji. I am going to start fresh when I finally get the game in June for my 32nd birthday :)

I would have to agree with not importing saved data. I need to relearn how to play the game and the best way to do this is from getting some gold licences. This also frees up my money problems so importing the data dosn't help.

There is nothing wrong with transfering credits/licenses. It does not disrupt the enjoyment of the game. It rewards you for all your hard playing on GT3, and if they really wanted to reward me they would let me transfer my Super license (which gave me frustration not fun) but never the less I am already half way through my Super license on GT4.

I found the best way was to import the money, but to use the Lupo Bronze B License car to do the Sunday Cup (with only an oil change and maybe Nitrous). Good way to break yourself in gently. I used the extra money to buy a Lancer EVO VI RS used. Bought a few more cheap cars to play around with as well. I also did a start with the basic amount of money (3 race in the Lupo enabled me to buy a Lancer EVO IV which won me the Toyota RSC Rally in two races which gave me more than two and a half times as much as the GT3 save did).

That was the Japanese version and I probably will do similar on the English language version.

I won't be importing my GT3 save when I lpay GT4 for the following reasons:
A) I don't have a PS2 bet (let alone a copy of GT3),
B) It's been six months since I last playeda GT game so I'm a bit rusty,
C) It would feel like cheating anyway.

What mods did your evo IV have to win the race?

I would definitely transfer my garage to GT4, to get a head start, but not my money. I wouldn't transfer my License's from GT3, either. I want to master the new physics engine.

Hate to tell you but you can't transfer the garage over. Sorry.

I did use the option.I plan to have 2 games going. The other one will not have the transfer on it.
