so if u pass up the option once, you cannot do it any time later on?

It's in the "Home" screen somewhere, maybe under "Transfer" or "Trade" something like that, I don't remember exactly. I think you can do it anytime, but only once...

I already posted that I would not import the money, but I'm in great doubt... One side of me says import the damn money and get a great car, the other parts wants to enjoy every bit of the game, including the frustration of not winning races at first. Because when you eventually win them, you're on top of the world! So at this point I won't import them... But maybe tomorrow when I'm spinning that disc around in my PS2 it'll be a whole different story.... (if the bloody freerecordshop delivers. :scared: ...):indiff:

i will get GT4 tomorrow, and will NOT import anything. good thing we can chose, i wouldn't want to delete my old files. gonna start fresh and enjoy it, we've waited so long i'm not gonna spoil it!

No I didn't import.. I figured if I could not import stuff on any of the other GT's then why would I have to do it on this one? Plus it's not that hard to get up to speed in the game... ONly like the first 15-20 races are kinda tidious just cause the cars are sooooo slow !

I played for about half an hour with the lupo from passing B licence (also got Kusabi but didn't want to use it) and was drawn to the NSX 01 in blue, i chose an expensive car on purpose so that i did not have loads of extra mone left over. just a beautiful car :)

The first game I started I did NOT use the game save. I even did all the B, A, IA, IB licences without the save.
Then I realized how many days I wasted on the licenses so I decided to just start a new game and import the money and the licenses.

I did, but not to use the money on tuning my cars in an easy way, or buy something quick to finish competition of in GTmode

I used it on the caterham (60000) and on the Golf HPA (32000), so all the money nearly gone , just to have these two cars in arcade mode to drive on The Nurburgring

So, yes, but not to "cheat"...

I imported the cash after I'd been playing a couple of days, I needed an upgrade for a car I was building and ran out of money so the 100k cr came in handy. 👍

I couldnt import it.....my GT3 and Prologue are NTSC J and my GT4 is PAL ......although I may not have done anyway.....

I'm not going to import my GT3 save with all gold licenses etc. GT3 and GT4 are different games and the way I see it, what I did in one should have no bearing on the other.

i didnt import prologue licenses cuz i wanna gold them all anyway so theres no real point for me to go to international b/a right away
i did import the money and am cruisin with the car but i dont race it its jst for fun...right now my 82 celica and my 1200credits and me are just fine:)

I fully intended to use my GT3 save for some quick money, but I never actually did. When I found out that you didn't have to do it right away, I decided I'd save it for later - just in case. Plus, I like the cash squeeze when you're starting this game, and the used lots and license cars give you plenty to start with.

I had a more sinister reason for not importing......A buddy and I have a years old flame war over who is beter and we are in a competition to complete/most $/ bst driver/et al......He got his game from Wallmart the day it was released and I had pre-ordered it so I had to wait 3 days for it to ship. He got a jump start on me and imported the GT3 data so when I finally got the game, I claimed the only "pure" way to get going is from the begining........LOL. He will always be behind me because he cheated <as I continue to remind him> I really don't think the help from importing makes much difference as you can easily complete all the head start stuff in an afternoon. :) :) 👍

I have a question on this..

When you Do choose to bring the money over from GT3 it says that you can do this only once so be careful, or something like that.

Does this mean if I start over now, I will be unable to import money again with a new account? Does it write something to the GT3 save game?

I think anyone who transferred their licences and money from GT3 has no business even posting race records, cars won, fastest times, and other achievements on this forum, because in my eye's they are all nothing but cheaters. I bet over 75% of the people that transferred these files wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting their licences in the new game. GT3 licence tests were a joke! This game is superior in many ways but the testing is the biggest improvement if you ask me. So in closing,if you are one of the people that transferred your files,go back to playing Finding Nemo or Monster's Inc. because GT4 is a game you actually have to succeed at in order to have bragging rights.

I first didn`t know how to transfer the money, and I don`t have GT4P (I think that would be a waste of money).I started of with the same money as all others that don`t cheat.I must say that those second hand cars are usefull when you first start a race. :)
