Did You See Anything Good Today? [Read First Post]

About 2 years ago my son and I were pulling out of the veterinarian's parking lot (in an upper crust summer town), I stopped at the stop sign, looked left and saw a black R8. I looked at my son, he was busy playing a game or texting on his portable distraction device. The black and silver R8 rumbled by at about 25mph and sounded amazing. As the car was around 25 yards past, I asked my son "see that?". He looked up at me and I pointed at the rear end of the R8. I told him "that will probably be the only time in your life you'll see an Audi R8 in the wild and your nose was buried in your phone."

So kiddies, disconnect once in a while lest you miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity!

For an Audi R8? Come on. A Mercedes 300SL, a Duesenberg, a Lambo Reventon, a real Kenmeri GTR are maybe once-in-a-lifetime chances. An Audi R8? Lol.

Yeah I've seen a few around. Not common, but I've seen them.

For high-end cars, they're pretty common. Not as common as 911s but not rare. I probably see one once every 1-2 weeks.

Today, i was lucky enough to see a Lancia Aurelia B20 GT, on the way home from work, didn't take a pic though.. so no proof, but i know what i saw, and i doubt i'll ever see one again.

I'm jealous!

I've only ever seen one R8 in the wild, and that was in the UK. I've seen several at shows here it the 'Burgh, but none out on the streets.

I once worked on a Audi dealership in Crewe, it was a Swansway dealership and they was having a lot of extension work going on at the time, I was a plasterer in a past life, and I have seen about every different colour and shape of Audi there is to see. It got to the point that people were driving right past me in R8 Spyder's and I didn't even give them a second look.

That is quite a bit different from seeing one "in the wild" as it were. Even so, I really, really like all Audi's, they just can't make a bad car, IMO.

Even so, I really, really like all Audi's, they just can't make a bad car, IMO.

The Mopar version is way better than the R/T or SRT8. Rides and corners better. I got to ride in one that a family member owns.

Day three on my trip haven't really seen anything interesting at Niagara except for a matte black de badged Audi and a black Abarth 500, no pics, on the way through NYS saw the usual luxury Mercs, BMWs and Audis which weren't that special. Did see a white Quattroporte but it was going the opposite way which was hard to get a pic. Saw a few nice muscle cars too. Now I'm at a hotel at the outskirts of Boston, staying for 3 days then back into Canada/Montreal.

On the subject, years ago I was mere days away of nabbing a 1970 Challenger R/T convertible, Plum Crazy purple, white interior/top, automatic. I was beaten to it by some guys who paid like 1,000 bucks for it. It's the only ragtop 1970 Challenger that I know of in Mexico. Every time I remember I just feel sick.
