Work takes a lot of spotting time away but I'm going to the St John's concourse in Detroit next weekend and then Car Week in California in August so expect some good stuff from those.

These were from a really small event in the historic section of Boston (Freedom Trail and whatnot.) Might have been 10 cars.

Apologies for quality, our DSLR's viewfinder is jacked up somehow and I was kinda forced to use my phone.

Land Rover

The one Cooper S that was there I got with the good camera so I will upload that one later.

My own recent spots:

A Land Rover Defender that I didn't know was being driven around town. I've seen a blue one before, but not this one.

Not sure if it's real but what appeared to be a 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring

@Stotty or @McLaren, would you be able to inform me if it's real or not? You both seem pretty clued up on your Porsches.

Hard to be 100% sure as it's relatively easy to create perfect backdates out of anything up to a 90's 964. It seems right on 1st look, but the front valance appears to be an RSR spec (looks like it has a mesh grill - the RS is solid there). Also, the drivers door fit is terrible - if you had a $600k+++ car you'd probably want that fitting right.

Sunroofs are incredibly rare on RS's.

So, one thing I do know, besides the incredible rarity of the sunroof (an option that makes the 2.7 RS more valuable) is that the sunroof was only available as an option on the Touring (M472) version of the car. And I was always under the impression that Touring trim had the 911 S body, with the lower metal trim piece under the doors/ sides of the car? Maybe I'm wrong there, but that would make this a replica. But my gut says its a replica anyways.

Yes, you're spot on - a sunroof means it must be a Touring, and the touring should have a chrome trim piece along the bottom of the sill.

Great 'bearding' 👍

So almost certainly the above car is a replica.

Top detective work there, @SPhilli911 and @Stotty. I'd figured the roof meant it was a Touring version but not noticed the lack of chrome or the front mesh. I thought a replica was likely though due to the rarity and value of these cars.

Noting inherently wrong with replicas... I posted this in the 'Tasteful Modifications' thread last week... it's a ST rep, based on a late Carerra. Ticks all the boxes, yet isn't so expensive you would be afraid to drive it.

(ST's are the bets looking 911 ever IMO).

Nothing wrong with replicas at all, in fact I'd love to have a replica 2.7 RS myself since I'd actually drive it without worrying about value. It's still a 911 after all.

Here is a replica for sale nearby (or was for sale). Looks damn well like the real deal, right? But worth significantly less.
