Still, rarer and far cooler than the average Bentley or Ferrari that pops up here.
I put them equal. Kit cars are meh. But Lancias are hawt. So it kind of evens out In My Opinion lol.

You're correct - just done a plate check on it. Registered as a "Hawk". Still, rarer and far cooler than the average Bentley or Ferrari that pops up here.
Don't be sad Tyger, you were second closest!![]()
TygerNo sadness, and I always admire your encyclopedic knowledge of such things Cano but from the little research i've done, it doesn't seem that the styling cues are dependent on the year, as I found several cars with almost identical styling and trim but across different years (around 1937-1940, I know earlier and later models were quite different again). Simply Google "Ford V8" or "Ford V8 Sedan" or similar to see what I mean.
However I did learn that the ones with the lettering above the grill (which is very cool) read "Ford" on the left and "Deluxe" on the right, which is clearly visible in my '37 Coupe pic and *possibly* also apparent in the original pic posted. So I agree it's a V8 Deluxe but I just feel determining the year is a bit of a minefield.
Anyways, I like these cars sufficiently to look into this a little further myself, but won't clutter this thread with my findings
The part of determining the year which is a minefield is determining how much to trust Google images. Just doing the search and scanning the top few pages to see if any of them match what you're looking for isn't enough. No matter what your search query, Google will return a hodge-podge of years and models. You have to go to the source page the picture comes from to make sure that the picture actually shows the model you're looking for by confirming with text on the page, etc.

Very easy to search for example for maserati grancabrio sport and get images of regular gran cabrios (sports car...) and even MC stradales.
And even with confirmation on the page, the label on the photo can still be wrong. Again with the maserati I was searching for from my above post, one photo labeled granturismo s was from a car show where a plaque in front of the car said MC Stradale, and from the styling cues I could tell the plaque was right, but the website clearly had it labeled incorrectly...
So generally, I need three positive ID's and no false ones to be sure at the least, and if there are false or conflicting ID's and I can't sort it out with better search queries then I just have to ask Cano or somebody else here...
or asking me (:
STRATOS!

And something else. And I can't guarantee it's a real Stratos, as they're incredibly rare and expensive, so this could be a Hawk replica. But still, STRATOS!
Anyone know what the other thing is? Has a hint of old Porsche Speedster about it (so again, almost certainly kit car), and the air filter sticking out of the boot suggests there's something fairly large under that bodywork.
Some stuff from the weekend.

did you mean shame it wasn't a '75-'76?:

^ Definitely that 👍
1600 Duetto SpiderWhat a gorgeous ride, that.
Cool spot, but-
I don't get why people are embarresed when they meet the drivers. I try to make friends with the drivers, I'm friends with a 458 owner, Audi R8 owners, Ford GT owners, a DB9 owner, Corvettes, Lambos, etc. I'm always looking for them lol.
I've come across owners that got upset at me taking pictures of their car.
