Gumpert Apollo

Spotted today driving up Portobello Road, inching past between the fruit and veg stalls. Took these as I saw it parked up a bit further up the road.

Those cars is so rare

EDIT: Added a "Guess the car" pic in error, moved now, oops!
This might be a good one for that topic aswell... unmodified :sly:

Don't know what it is myself, I thought it read MGD on the backside but not sure.

It wasn't today but. A STRATOS HF!

Big 4x4 - possibly Nissan?
IMAG0206.jpg

It had all the trim on it, markers on the door...... It could be a fake, i dunno enough bout Audi's lol

That's not an RS4, it's not even an S4 - it's more likely the 1.8T Sport Quattro.

As for the "E Class? AMG" that's just a C Class with an aftermarket exhaust and AMG badging. The C43 had a much nicer bodykit and I believe wasn't available in that colour.

Edit: the C32 was the next gen - the older more square generation was the C43 (my fault)

Ahhhh good man yourself!

The Merc is actually driven by a complete bi**h of a woman who is so far up herself, so I will take great satisfaction in telling her that her beloved car isnt what its badged up as lol

I likey the Euro-R, though! And the stuff the new guy posted on the last page!

Here's one I really liked today. Thing is, even for one spotter what constitutes a good spot can depend even on location. I see TONS of restored 40's-70's machines out in the country where my farm is. But in the city? Not so much. So in the country, I don't usually shoot them, but in the city yes. Likewise, Bentley GT/Flying Spur in city, not so cool, within 10 miles of my farm, freaking amazing!

So, here it is. Unsure of model/year, as usual. Buick? Just a guess. Especially love how it's not all shiny and restored! This thing was BIG. reminds me of an old cab?

and I just LOVE when I see the nose of one of these peeking out!

haven't yet shot a 500, they're like New Beetles were back in the day. waiting for an Abarth. but I'll take a Gucci!

and, spotted this one once last year, but I like this angle better. pretty!

Great spots everyone! Welcome to the newbies to the thread too. I feel out the loop these days... Sausages, that Gumpert is so nice and in such an odd location too. Jeff, if you like the CL9 Euro-R (as do I), you should go to Hong Kong - they are EVERYWHERE! Such nice proportions too. That Buick looks exactly how I remember Phoebe's yellow cab to look in Friends. Hoping I might have something to contribute soon.

^ Too bad these cars will be sent to the crusher (possibly VIN-less cars). At first I thought, why these cars have Jersey plates in UK!

^ Don't tell me that a WRX STi Type-R... :scared:

^ Yup! Its the Land Cruiser's mortal enemy, the Patrol (Safari in JDM-land). Also a UN co-patriot to the L/C too! :sly:

^ Because, Nurburgring.

i didn't know they had an rs model of this a4.
^ Nope, that is an A4 with a body kit; not enough wide. The RS4 should look like this:

-> Plus the B5-Body (as shown in cally-dave's pic), never came with a sedan body only the B6-Body (so far).

On the Camaro, I honestly cannot remember, it was a miracle I even got that shot of it. It did storm past at quite a bit over the limit in London.

It is a shame about the muscle cars... if the film makers had wanted to, they could easily have sold them. But I'm really gonna watch the film until I spot them! Haha

^ Wow! Didn't know that you're in town! For how long? 👍

-> And what do you think about your Dodge Charger rent-a-car? ;)

3 days, when me and my parents wake up,we gonna leave and the dodge charger is pretty nice

ah! Buick cab guess was good!

and, :phew:, good thing I was patient with lldantell's grammar. figured he was youngish by the backseat photos, now I also know/guess English is his 2nd language...

That cab is a 1977-1982 Checker Marathon, iconic for ferrying around New Yorkers in style for several decades.

Only around 1000-2000 was produced each year between '61-'82, they are notoriously plagued by rust, and parts are hard to come by. So they're fairly rare today. And that one sure is a beauty, awesome catch.

I don't see raptors, but here's a Triumph. (long distance cellphone pics ftw!)

TR2 or TR3.

I don't have any pictures (sorry), but I've seen an SLS AMG, blacked out R8 (pretty sure its a V10), a Ferrari 430 Spyder, and a couple 500's and Imprezzas (both hatch and the older, sexier ones). Also spotted a perfectly restored Mustang Mach 1. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), my phone was in my pocket and I was driving the times I spotted these...and they were all going the opposite direction too :ouch:.

Also have some pictures from a car show last year - they even had an F1 car! I'll try to find them and post some up.

You will never do this again. Instead photograph EVERYTHING!!
