i posted a thread a while ago talking about how i hated diet coke, to tell the truth i hate all diet drinks , i was wonderin' what y'all think

I drink regular, I don't need diet. And I mostly drink Barq's Rootbeer, and the diet version tastes like crap...

I like Diet more...:)

It's better for you, and it tastes sweeter.

I like Diet Coke and Diet Dr.Pepper, but I like reg Barq's the most...makes me burp so incredibly loud, and clear tone, no streached out sound, just high quality burps...

i love reg... all types of diet, even that pepsi one crap are just ****ty.... i mean seriously they taste like ****..

I could care less, if its carbonated and it comes in a can or bottle, i'll drink it.

except club soda and diet cherry 7-up.

Diet just tastes awful and watered down. It just doesn't have the right taste, like a monkey pissed in it or something. Regular all the way.

Anyone like that Lemon Coke? I almost spit it up when I tried it, it was like someone who was at Burger King and filled it with lemonaid and then went back and filled it with coke...terrible. And my dad accidently opened one up when he thought it was his Diet Dr.Pepper...

I haven't had the coke one, but the Pepsi Lemon Twist is excellent. I thought it would be replulsive at first but was pleasantly surprised when I first quenched my thrist with a frosty glass of it.

:rotfl:

I agree though, Diet drinks are all muck. If I care about the calories, I drink juice or water.

yea..diet actuallty tatses to sweet. The company adds to much stuff to make it taste sweeter..but it TERRIBLE!!!

they do have caffeen free Barq's well they did at least, and it tasted bad...

Umm, don't matter to me... especially since I drink neither. :D

However, if I do drink soda, I never have diet... I actually think diet is worse, because the artificial sugars are "excitotoxins", which means that they can kill off brain cells, leading to Alzheimers, etc. I think it's much better to just have a regular soda, then to gut back on some snacking the rest of the day to offset the calories and sugar.

Actually, any sugar or aspartame carbonated drink is extremely bad for you - try entering 'carbonisation osteoperosis' into Google and set your faces to stun.

I have completely sworn off fizzy softs drinks.

Fizzy alcoholic drinks - different matter.

i heard coke or any dark drink is good for taning, put some over you then go out in your back yard and tan for a few hours you'll be as dark as you ever wanted to be

hey puffy, pass the spliff

but fer me, i almost always drink water. nothing tastes quite as good. after that, i'll grab a beer. but when i do drink soda, it's always regular. i hate all cola's but dr.pepper. anyone remember pepsi clear? i think that's wut it was called. that was my all time favorite soda, and they pulled it off the shelves REAL fast. i havn't tried the new pepsi twist drink, it sounds like its a re-release of pepsi clear. any similarities between them?

You only live once, drink the good stuff! (Soda, beer, motor oil, etc.)

Pupik, I puke on you.

:D j/k

btw, taking vat_man's advice, here's an interesting link: http://www.fizzyfruit.com/wsj.htm

Notice in the above article that it talks about putting the taste buds into overdrive... that is essentially what excitotoxins do (they "excite" brain cells so much that they actually kill some of the off).

Sorry if it seems like I'm taking away from this thread. :o
btw, for the record, if i drink soda, i prefer Sprite. :D

My point was really about sugar and aspartame consumption - sugar is one of my 'soapbox' issues, I personally think it's THE reason for the increase in obesity and overweight people we're seeing now, plus the increase in late-onset diabetes. Aspartame is just nasty...

An example - comparing brands of low-fat flavoured yoghurt, Yoplait has about half the sugar content of Fruche, and as a result it has half the calorie yield.

Doesn't sound like much, right? On a 200 gram tub we're talking about 100 calories - that's pretty close to a full strength 330ml beer, kids.
