Direction of the Shadow at Suzuka - Does GT get it right?

I think you all might be over complicating the shadow/time of day. If the map compass is correct, on the Forza shot at the end of the straight, the Sun appears to be in the north, so no matter what the time of day, it's wrong.

By the way, I don't think any game is as slow as any of the Forzas. Load a track, start a race, restart a race, change the freaking car in a replay! Everything is more of a hassle in Forza.

Because that's what it sounds like for what you are saying. Forza is such a piece of 🤬 judging for what you are saying, that GT isn't so different to it in my eyes, if you keep comparing it to Forza. 👎

See and THIS is where I think the fact that this is a GT forum should come into play...

It makes sense to say positive things about GT here (it's a GT forum) and if referencing comparisons from other games... well that can be solid backup for an argument.

It DOESN'T make sense to go dissing other games here... then you are talking about other games, you aren't using them for reference anymroe, you are judging them and discussing them... positive or negative that should be saved for whatever forum bears the name of that game.

So bearing that in mind, the fact only one game can recieve criticism makes sense as long as that game is GT as that's what we are talking about. Just like this shouldn't be a forum about praising other games accomplishments either.

So if a GT forum really is about GT, you should see two basic things:

Praising GT.

Pointing out negative comments about GT.

Those follow the guidelines of being a GT forum... but you will notice only one game gets negative mention here, it's GT... that's not becuase it's a hate on GT forum... that's because the only thing that should be criticized here is the subject of the forum.

Examples:

GT car models are superb! <- This is about GT
Look at these other car models from other games and see how much better GT models are. <- This is still about GT, just using something else as a reference point.

GT track textures are poor. <- This is about GT
Look at these other track textures from othe games and see how much poorer GT textures are. <- While negative, it's still about GT.

Look at this video of XXXX game and how crappy it looks! <- This is not about GT, this is about how bad some other game is.

OK, can you highlight in detail why Forza Devs have got it all wrong, and PD devs have got it so right?

I think both have valid shadows, depending on time of day/year..

But, I'm not expert, but would love to know the level of detail PD had to go to to get these 2 steps better details then any other game?

While I very much agree with the idea, I think it is not applicable. Since this forum is open to everyone, it is impossible to introduce the necessary discipline to pull the above thought through.

Well, for the moment at least, we are awfully starved of information regarding GT5... people are starting to get edgy and their thoughts are all starting to go fuzzy as their brains delapidate !!!

Seen as we have nothing new to talk about, at the moment, people are just looking into the most minute of things, to form a topic of conversation that assures them that GT5 will not only be good, but better than the rest!

Agreed! Also, it is kind of natural, if sad at the same time, that people tend to raise their voice when they want to complain, as opposed to when they don't if they are happy with the product.
