Indeed it does, one of my favorites so far.So, I made it to the Expert series. Managed to get the final promotion spot in 3rd for Professional and now going to focus on Group A cars. My weapon of choice? No other than the Lancia Delta HF Integrale which drives magnificently.
Been playing it today, not enjoying it because I'm crap at it, I rage quit twice....
This. One thing to bear in mind, compared to most other racing games I (and I imagine quite a few people) have played, is that it isn't 1st or bust. initially I did restart a few times due to pushing too hard, but I've found it to be much more enjoyable when I'm more focused on keeping all 4 wheels on the road. Getting 1st is just a bonus.![]()
It's also one of those odd games where slower = faster. Each off is such a larger penalty that you're far better off finishing a stage 30 seconds slower than going off 2-3 times and wasting more than 30 seconds because you were pushing 5-10 mph more than you needed to.
When we race online, I have a buddy who (on a perfect run) is easily 10-20 seconds faster than me on most stages. However, I keep my car in 10x better condition, and he frequently crashes out of rallies completely. There's a bit of turtle vs. hare for this game.
As we say in shooting...you can't miss fast enough to make it up.
If you back out of the throttle, they usually let it slide. But just be careful - three strikes nets you an instant disqualification, even if they're questionable. Sometimes it's uncertain as to exactly where the limit it, especially around the Höljes clubman circuit.cut a corner a bit too much (said the stewards were going to investigate, but nothing came of it)
Just make sure she doesn't escalate to holding the game disc for ransom....I have a feeling my wife will not be so happy now, she will need too work really hard too get my attention the next weeks![]()

Really?Argh, R4 cars handle like two tonnes of ballast.
I have the Lancer. Very disappointed, because my dad used to rally Lancers in the 1970s. The Evo X feels like it won't slow down in time, and I need to brake about twenty metres earlier than I normally would.Really?
I like the Impreza
Not a Forza player anymore, but a good seat makes a massive difference. I've got the Playseat Challenge with a shifter (and button box for PCars) mounted on it and it allows the wheel to be really used. After being so disappointed with FM6 using a wheel, I'm really impressed with Dirt Rally. Really love how challenging it is and the FFB is pretty amazing. IMO this is the best rally game to date. Even convinced me to order a Playseat Evolution along with the gearshift holder pro to up the immersion.
I drove the Lancer in a league event and didn't like it as much as the Subaru (which features a lot in my latest youtube compilation attempt).I have the Lancer. What's the trick to a good start in Rallycross (specifically the 1600 class at the moment)? It seems that no matter what I do, the AI get a much better launch off the line than me. I'm using launch control, which is apparently slower, I did try without but as far as I could tell there was no difference. I've also tried revving at various different ranges and not revving at all. It's getting to the stage that it's a deciding factor in most of my races.
