Im sick to death of dirty racers on this game. i really wish i could kick and ban people from my online games, is there a room which clean racers use.

Do polyphony have an official forum that they read or is it this and what if there was some sort of feedback system where the leader of the race could rate other players up or down and then racers could say only people with positive feedback or a certain number of good feedback

Just putting that idea out there

Exactly why I just about completely ditched GT5P. Bumper cars are fun with your (really good)friends, but unacceptable in public races.

Last time I was online on GT5, only races available were sort of private lobbies that others can join in. Feedback system, and/or way to regulate players from joining particular races make total sense.

P.S. When I saw the title, I thought you were talking about the A.I. They are dirty bastards.

Or something like iRacing's system, where you race cleanly and that increases your safety rating and lets you progress to higher level races.

Playing bumper-cars online is b.s. there is a certain code that the racer should uphold. Like everyone else said, it's ok with your friends but don't do it in online. Those that do usually just do it because they suck at driving and can't win any other way except to spin you out.

I have yet to try out online multiplayer, but I could swear I heard that each lobby could make it so penalties were given to cars that made contact with another or rode rails around corners.. Are those options not effective?

It would definitely be nice to see something similar to the player feedback on Xbox Live used in the GT5's online mode. Being able to prefer or avoid a player as well as providing feedback, albeit negative or positive, would be a good thing. Lets hope to see it implemented.

don't know if there is but in prologue it sometimes gave you a penalty if you did nothing wrong or the other person hit you

Dude aint that the truth.

They come up and swipe you at any chance they get.

Kinda ruins the racing aspect because you need to pretty much blow the opposition away in races and win by 10 secs just to avoid them. I hate overpowering races but in this game i tend to be doing that a lot more than in previous versions.

Let's just hope polyphony read this

There could always be a system telling other drivers if there new or not like on this site

Or have a learner sticker on the back of there cars

As I heared, Shift has an good online system that shows how the user drives?? Crasher, clean driver and so on??

The online features of the game are really in 2005 standards... Sorry but PD told us that they give a lot of attention to the online part of the game...

I´ve tried some online races but whats the sense if you can choose every car? I wish we could get the PP back, even though a lot of people say that the online mode of GT5P was not good, I´ve had a lot of funny races there... But without PP points, the only option is that everybody must drive the same car...

Same for almost every online racer sadly (except for iRacing which has an interesting system which improves some aspects to the detriment of others).

Best thing is to see who seems to be a decent racer online and send them a friend request - once you've built up a nice list you can just stay in private lounges and not worry too much about the outside world :)

Don't hold your breath. The system been online for 5 years, if they were gonna do it, it would have been done already.
The main reason is on XBOX you have to pay to keep and ID, people can't just ditch one when they have bad feedback and banned, On the PS3, it's only take you 5 min to create a new ID.

There are a number of solutions to deal with dirty drivers and course cutters. Firstly you need to be the owner of the room your racing in. Then you can either set the penalties to high/weak and if you still have problems with dirty drivers then I think you can vote to kick.

Car choice is up to the host - it can be limited.

There is also the option for performance limits in terms of BHP and Max/Min weights so effectively there is a PP limit in the online too.

It's up to the host to set these things.

Only option is the possibility to make some online rooms with password protection... We are in 2010, things like this must be standard in games nowadays :/

Thread title needs to be altered, I think...

Set the room to friends-only, unless of course your friends fit into the same category that you so eloquently reference in the OP :D

Feedback system would be best, example lower scores could not enter the race host selects how high the score is. Also am sick of users who use buggati veyrons all they seem to do is floor it then smash into the wall, in real life your car would be ****ed if you did this so why not for the game.

Yeah would be the smart thing like in f1 2010 (sorry for the reference lol) you sustain to much damage and you removed from the race

There could be stats saying how many times crashed and how many people hit

Private rooms with friends only is always a safe solution. I was never one to have much fun with randomers anyhow.

You can add me. I play purely for online. Only bother with offline out of necessity. However, since my PS3 is busted, I'm only online when I have access to someone else's system. Next time will be late-mid December.

Amen, online is a freaking MESS. I have seen ZERO penalties handed out to even the most obvious head on collision crash kiddies.

I mean, how about a simple one - you aren't allowed to drive BACKWARDS for lap, after lap, after lap - if you drive 500 feet backwards online, boom, instantly booted. Just ridiculous to have released it without something - I mean, what happened to the flawed, but at least somewhat effective penalty system in Prologue? I don't get it.

I'm sure it will get improved, but it seems simple to have the most blatant offenders get booted quick.

The host has to turn the penalties on. The rooms I have played in with them turned on made it alot better.

I love when you make a clean pass on someone then the other guy has the nerve to spin you out on the clean pass! It drives me nuts.
