I'm crazy to give my money to a farmer that don't poison my food. I'm crazy not to use a cellphone. Everyone does! Why not use it?

In an abnormal world, normal is abnormal.

If you think farmers don't poison their crops, you're mistaken. You have to remember the DDT crap and then there was a chemical pesticide that turned farmers trousers in to gun-cotton.

The fact is: if you use pesticides, you're going to put poison into the food. So, unless the farms don't use pesticides, then, you will eat some toxins. This is why it's important to thoroughly wash your fruits and veggies, and cook your meat. (this also gets rid of parasites.)

But, as to the topic: The controllers should come with a USB cable, and you can just leave it plugged in. As for connecting to the internet, you can always connect it directly connect it into a hub or something. hardlines are faster than wireless, anyway...and they drop their signal WAY less.

I actually gave cELica real advice about what he could do to the bluetooth and all I got back was sarcasm, I certainly wont bother helping anymore.

I knew this wasn't the right place to ask this.
anyway...

Doctors in the 50s also said that cigarettes were healthy.
With the "re$earchers" in your hand, you can come out with whatever conclusions you want.

I know it's hard to believe, but of course I don't use a cellphone, microwave, cordless etc.
And sure I eat only organic. Yeah, I know... I'm crazy.

So then where exactly are you using a computer? And what exactly do you think you experience when you're talking around with radio waves blasting everywhere for radio / TV, Cellphones, public WiFi, and other people all around with cordless phones?

Or do you live in a cave isolated from Society?

Could somebody please point me in the direction of any scientific evidence that suggest bluetooth or other forms of low energy radio waves can be harmful?

I work in plasma physics and frequently use high power Radio Frequency generators up to 3.5Kw. We use Faraday cages purely because RF power can induce heating in the body, and at 3.5Kw that heating effect would be damaging. However this type of radiation does not cause damage to DNA, the heating effect could kill cells, but that would require a temperature increase of > 2 degrees Celsius. This is something which cannot happen with powers below 10 watts, and the EU legal limits of 2 watts per kilogram of tissue are more than sufficient to keep everyone safe.

The parts of the EM spectrum you must worry about are Gamma rays (source: stones, walls, spent fuel rods from a nuclear reactor), X-rays (source: medical procedures and cosmic rays during high altitude flights) and ultra violet rays (source: the sun, sun beds). These can cause ionisation and damage DNA. But unlikely to cause cancer over the course of a life time because damaged DNA usually either dies (with no effects) or repairs itself.

As for organic food I try to avoid buying or eating it. For these reasons;
first of all the population of the world is increasing by the population of Germany each and every year ~80 million people. Currently about 2/5 of the worlds population lives without a reliable source of food. Our solution to this devastating global problem; throw science and years of chemical advancements out the door and drastically reduce the crop yields due to crop diseases which use to be confined to history books before some health conscious 'do gooders' (who've never read a rational scientific report in their lives) decided to think they could push their life expectancy from 78 to 80 at the expense of others with life expectancies < 40.

Apologies if this offends anybody but I had to get it of my chest. :guilty:

However I think this is a perfect time to plug Jon Stewards Rally for Sanity. :P

If plugging in the controller turns off the bluetooth signals, then that is a good thing.
Yes. That'll be fine.
Are you sure it's turned off when you put the usb?
I know it's logical it does that. But I want to be sure it does that.

Poison it with things that will keep it disease free and fresh for longer? Why does everyone think that Organic = better for you? It really doesn't.
Mc Donald's food stays fresh for more than a month. That must be good then?

kikie 👍
And, btw, since your life will end with your death, try to have fun while you're here.
Point of the lesson is we are all going to die of something sooner or later.
Why you keep washing your teeth? Sooner or later they'll fall anyway.

:P
Wrong.
There's enough food for everybody. We (so called west countries) throw away a lot of it. The reason people starve in other counties is a political one. It's better to keep those populations poor so you control them better.

Unless your house is in an giant faraday cage, the few mWs from your PS3 is the last thing you should worry about. Think about cell phone antennas, police/military radio, CB radio, 100s of radio stations, satelites and whatever else is pumping out radio waves.
Hell, everywhere a current goes through a conductor, there is an electric field.

The discussion has become a bit pointless, but anyway here goes a litle last reply:

"I keep washing my teeth because I want to keep using them to eat, among other things, chocolate. No point having them if, to preserve them, I cease to eat a few things I really like."

Yes. That'll be fine.

I know it's logical it does that. But I want to be sure it does that.

I know that when you plug the PS3 controller in via USB, then it communicates along the USB cable and not via Bluetooth.

Also scanning for a Bluetooth device won't show up a PS3 unless you have the PS3 scanning for devices itself.

But I don't think there is a definitive yes or no whether the bluetooth is ever 100% off, seeing as when you turn the PS3 off, you can press the PS button on a wireless controller and it will wake the PS3 from sleep.

It doesn't.. Every other accessory, headset, remote etc. which are all BT still works.

Are you SURE about this? I've been searching and can't find anything to substantiate it either way, but I was always under the impression that SA/DS controller always communicated with the PS3 via Bluetooth and it used the USB connection simply to (1) recharge and (2) initially pair with the PS3.

As far as I know there is no way to disable the Bluetooth signal from the PS3.

It doesn't - Like I said in the post before this - Plugging in the USB (charger) cable does not prevent all other BT accessories from working..

Correct....

"I keep washing my teeth because I want to keep using them to eat
The same here.
I try to stay away from radiations (as much as possible) because still need my body for a few more years.

Between health and a videogame, I choose health 1000 times. GT is not my reason of living.
There's no way to have a console that doens't beam you? Fine, PC simulations are still good enough.

Good choice!.. We all know that there's zero emissions from PCs!...

So you avoid smoke alarms (americium), peanuts and coffee and bananas (potassium isotope), houses built on granite (radon).

Nice.

Maybe there is. I believe when the PS3 was released you could choose between a PS3 with and without bluetooth. Maybe you could find a second-hand ( used) PS3 without bluetooth?

Nope. All PS3s uses BT for the wireless controller. I have a 1st gen, and it's all BT all the way..

I think you were thinking about the 20GB PS3. Only that it had no wireless and no memory card reader. Though from what I have read, the slims do have bluetooth and WIFI antennas. Click here for the ifixit tutorial. If you remove the black and white wires from the motherboard that should cease it's bluetooth and WIFI abilities. Then you would be stuck playing your PS3 wired(I'm assuming as I don't own a slim and have never done it).

Well, Good luck!👍

If you search the net, you could find your answer yourself.

A PS3 Slim is giving 7 mW/cm2 (if you stick your head on the place where the transmitter is).
The sun gives of 100 mW/cm2 in the summer months.

So if I where you I'd avoid buying a PS3 Slim.

Or any electronics ever. :dunce:

Easy to check. If you remove the black and white wires and your controller or any other bluetooth device doesn't work anymore, bluetooth is disabled. Right?

Well my fat PS3 only has a WIFI antenna that I could find. The bluetooth antenna must be built right into the motherboard. I'm only assuming a few things since I can't confirm them yet(as in I don't own a slim).

Stop the future let's go back to the middle ages! come on man the average life expectancy is higher then it has been. How can that be with all those radiation around?

I know you don't want to answer my questions. Cause you probably haven't got a good answer to them.

(this post is not meant to upset you, just to put your feet back on the ground.)

So, if I understood correctly, I must disconnect the black and white I see in Step 15... and that's it? They look welded on the mobo(?)

Read the bullets in step 10. I clearly mentions the WIFI and Bluetooth antennas.

Look at the second photo of step 10. See screenshot below.

I believe it's the 2 wires which are marked with 2 red arrows:

This is another link for the antennas and the two wires.

http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-PlayStation-3-Slim-Antennas/3229/1

There is a link to a PDF file on that last pages. Take a look at it. It answers all your questions about removing the antennas.
