Jordan has been discussing the evolution of the GT4 forum with the moderators for a while. We're coming to a consensus as to the changes that will be unveiled at the time of the games release.
You've given no reason why you think we should split the forum, other than it's an idea you have.
List the advantages and disadvantages you can think of, and we'll add it to our discussion.
I think it would be a good idea. I'll still look at both of them though because there's not much difference between the European/Japan and North American versions.
Personally I don't think it will be a good idea. There are a lot of boards already, and it would likely lead to duplicate threads for many topics that don't differ between versions. Also, I'd prefer to see the differences described and discussed, rather than keeping the two groups separated.
I don't feel the versions are different enough to warrant multiple forums. It would cause many duplicate threads and discussions, without providing any tangible benefits.
I agree with the Powers That Be on this one. While the different versions of the game are slightly different, it's still the same game. Having a few unique cars or whatever isn't enough to warrant an entirely new forum.
Id say the template thats on the GT3 forum was pretty dang good. But to make a "new" forum for different regions could end up, as said with a crapload of similar threads. Not that i dont think it will happen anyways but deviding it like that will.. Naah finding "that thread" could become a pain in the bum.
I would say that the disadvantages of splitting the game by the locations of its players outweigh any advantages. As Jordan says, I don't believe that the differences between the editions would warrant it, and I think that it would be needlessly divisive to the community as a whole.
And that's before I start to think about thread duplication.
Not a good idea IMO, theres enough different boards on this site, I think it could also divide the community here. Perhaps one suggestion would be to have 3 stickied topics one for each region, after all three have been released ofcourse. That way the community wouldn't be divided, and lets face it as Giles said we don't need a thread about the Dodge Viper SRT-10 for EACH version or how to tackle such a race ect.
