DLC Pricing Policies - your thoughts?

Wouldn’t this be more of a publisher issue not a developer one, i.e. Sony pushes the idea of DLC and pricing and PD just pumps it out for them to earn their next paycheck.

Something just missing the launch window implies that it was finished around the time the game actually shipped. No way it takes over a year to make one car that was mostly finished when the game came out.

This is also ignoring the fact that you are giving PD the benefit of the doubt regarding something that you just ripped into Turn 10 for supposedly doing.

Edit, it is shown for 25,000 SpeedBoost, 17,800 SpeedBoost will cost you $50

I didn't know that PD was forcing you to pay for this content. If you don't like it don't buy it.
 
While everyone is entiltled to their own opinion,I hope many realize that there has been various free content which has enhanced the playing experience of gt5.To really expect all dlc to be free in this day and age is naive.The premium being charged is actually quite fair.

Yea that would make sense if it was 10 cars... but its only one car. They more than likely waited til they finished more cars to release a pack..

You dont have to re-pay for it .. you cant even buy the DLC twice you can re-download it however
 
This post just allows the OP the right to ask for GT 6 for free using the same ole lame ole reasoning. Why should I have to pay for GT 6, cant you just add the cost on GT 7?

If 4 bucks breaks ya, dont buy it. But please don't bring forth elementary reasoning and deduction skills which completely nullify somone else's intellectual property ot their hard work in bringing it to their audience.

Or, you know, the DLC is planned ahead of time and wouldn't be completed by the time the discs are printed.

Of course, you probably knew that. I'll also presume you knew you paid to unlock two (three?) cars that were already available in the game for free (in Arcade Mode) for use within the entire game.

If in 2 months 20 cars would be avaliable then why not wait some time before releasing the game and why charge 14$ extra. Obviously they had planned to sell it seperately and get people to buy season pass.

They probably have 100 cars and some tracks, which are being done and not completed. Probably saving it for next game or may be DLC if they want.
 
I don't mind paying the extra couple dollars for a few new cars because it gives me something extra to do in the game. But one could argue that the game originally came with like 1000 cars and a few dozen tracks, for 60$ which would result in pennies for each car/track...

The only thing you can redownload are the tracks. Everything else (cars, paints, racing suits) need to be repurchased if you want more than one of them.


This update is going to make it so the cars do not need to be repurchased to be redownloaded and can be bought in the in-game dealership like they should have been in the first place, but everything else will continue to be one-time use only.

There is a lot of self entitled complaining on this forum, but this seriously takes the cake. You can't be serious with this. :yuck: I'm not the biggest fan of Polyphony Digital anymore, but even I understand that they can't work for free.
 
In my opinion this shoulda' been posted in the Epic Rage and Crying thread.. cuz that's all this is. asking for Add-Ons to be free? c'mon man..

The only thing that will suck is GT6 will likely use Sony's new policy of putting multiplayer codes into their games to discourage buying used copies. Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3 already have this.

The way I understood it is all games published by Sony, starting fall of 2011, will be having these multiplayer redeem codes in them. EA has been doing it for sometime like you pointed out, Codemasters does it as well, as do a number of other developers/publishers now.

Activision and Microsoft are two of the big ones that have yet to jump on this bandwagon.
