Japanese Domestic...so his post made no sense as VW is "authentically" German. I personally dont care even a little what side its on, but if PD started designing the cars from the domestic, they should continue to do so.
Couldn't agree more! I mean why all of the sudden just make an European car, Japanese standard? Ok, I'm sure there is Ferrari in Japan, so why don't they make GT5 Ferrari with right side steering, it's just doesn't make any sense, there's no logical reason to do it!!!

AFAIK all cars are modelled after Japanese spec. In Japan it's prestigious to have higher end euro cars in left hand drive. Not sure why, maybe because it's how they are used in Europe? Anyway most Euro exotic/luxury cars in Japan are LHD (Ferraris, Lambos, MB, BMW etc), including official imports, you'd be lucy to find 1 rhd Ferrari out of 20 in Japan I think. I guess Astons and Jaguars are opposite since they are from the UK, where cars are RHD.
Some of these high-end European cars are rarely seen in Japan and sometimes they are imported.
Maybe the reason why some of the cars in the game are LHD in the real European Spec is because PD actually got to travel to the home country and model the original car when they were making the game. Obviously after the game was made its unpractical to fly all the way to Germany to take pictures of a car for new DLC, so they just used their spec VW's.
PD had an easier option of modelling their country spec Volkswagen, so that's what they did. It doesn't make much difference in a racing game seeing as you're on a track and not a road!
Remember, GT5 is a global game, with vast numbers of users in Asia, Europe, North and South America, ME, and Africa. So what maybe uncomfortable/unfamiliar for some is very comfortable for others.

If you actually wanna do something cool, try modding the intake system on the '66 1200 VW from the DLC, then stick a semi-racing exhaust on it. Sounds like a 2J on dope! Made me laugh anyway. Next time I start GT5 up Ill check the onbaord and tell you which side the steering wheel's on.
Well that's just stupid in my humble opinion, i've been waiting for a European DLC cars (after all that Japanese/GTR insanity) mainly because of the the left side steering wheel and now that they finally released one, it's still has the right side damn it, which is not even authentic!
