Is it really? Considering the games that are coming out and the games that are already out... I've had motorstorm apocolypse on my mind for the longest time, and dirt 3. Then NHL12 is coming out in september along with F1 2011, thats about a good $210 easy after taxes, but that somewhat $210+ can go to all the DLC that PD is comfortable with releasing... Please help ?!

I wouldnt hold my breath on DLC. PD seem to be more intent on releasing irregular updates with odd features, than experience improving DLC.

Still want spa though!

We won't know until they announce what it'll be. Knowing PD, it could be racing suits and horns.

They're gunna have to release a crap load of awesome premiums for dlc and old courses that have been raced in previous gt releases, (seattle circuit, mid-field race way, special stage route 11, El Capitan, swis alps, smokey mountain and tahiti MAZE) now that would be my ultimate wishlist for dlc... But i feel the car and teack count is going to be limited until the release of gt6... Or another release of PD's games... Tourist trophy II?

Yes i miss all those tracks so much i feel so bad about not playing GT3 And GT4

For me personally I agree about the classic tracks, That would be DLC I would definitely purchase.

I think the most important thing is how soon they release it.
GT5 has basically been my summer game and I'm fairly close to completing it. Then come September lots of very popular games will start coming out all the way till Christmas.
Unless it's something really special like Special Events but X10 or C-Spec or something, I don't think I'll be getting it.
I'm getting close to having all the cars in the game, 90% of which I've yet to driven.
So the last thing I nee is more cars.

But based on bow other racing games do it, it will probably 1 pack or several packs with Tracks, Cars, maybe even new modes (drag racing?).
All of which can't add too much gameplay, especially if you've already gotten bored of racing online.

If the choice was between getting DLC or buying FM4 (for those with 360's) then I'd spend extra money and get a whole new game.
Sure FM4 doesn't offer the same things we've come to love bout GT5, but it makes up for it with lots of other amazing features.

My guess the DLC will cost £7.99 or £12.99
Hopefully it will be cheaper and have some good trophies, but that's just a whish list.

They will really have to push hard if they want to bring back those who got the game on release, as I wouldn't see the point of coming back for some new cars after 9+ months of no content, just bug fixes.

Exactly... The fact that motostorm 3 and dirt 3 are both out, and nhl12 and f12011 along with uncharted 3 and MANY more releases, some cars i would like to see but yes, old tracks must be brought into gt5... Haha wanna read somethjng funny?... You know you've played your ps3 too much that when you are playing the ps2 you keep yanking the cord thinking the controller is wireless, when you're expecting to enter the xmb menu screen and try hit the ps button where the analog on off switch is... And wondering why your saved data wont load when your memory card "looks" but isnt fully pushed in... That really scared me for some reason hahah but anyway... thanks for the input people!

👍 ....and museum cards!!

I'm not holding my breath, given PD's irregular record. But it COULD happen....

It seems like at this point in time I really could care less if they release a DLC or not, nevertheless it's months until we get it anyhow.

I just want more courses, is that all that too to ask?

I just want a Lambo Diablo and not just the NOMAD version, also chuck in teh ferrari testarossa too

Heck! I wouldn't even mind if they let us paint the Nomad! A bit of "devil" yellow paint on it and I'm all set!

As for the Testarossa, paint a Cizetta red and squint your eyes :D

This is one of the main reasons I bought a gaming pc and got gtr evolution & rfactor. Loads of tracks and cars being added all the time with the modding community, no waiting for dlc!
Still love GT and always will but being a gt fan can be a frustrating experience :(

At this point I doubt it is ever going to happen. I mean why would you wait almost a year to release DLC for a game? You want to release it soon after the game comes out when it is the most popular.

It is going to be a hard sell for most people to go back and buy DLC for a game they haven't been playing for months.

Well for the many of that still do play are wondering if they should wait for it.. Thus this whole thread to begin with...

Indeed, but you're forgetting that the Platinum version just got announced. Sony is probably expecting many sales, thus DLC should be a buy for all these new-comers.

Kazunori already tweeted that downloads are coming for GT5.

Instead of posting crap on GTP, why don't you try holding your breath. Remember, PD won't take you seriously unless you both die and leave a convincing suicide letter.:)

Really? You would like to pay extra for content that should've been included at release, but omitted only to be released a month or so later at extra cost? And most people haven't been playing for months? The gt community is growing bigger and bigger, and the soon to be released platinum edition is further proof.

DLC is worth the wait.

I've enjoyed playing this since release so DLC will be great.Plus it's hard tellin' what exactly the DLC will be(Hopefully new tracks),but i would be happy with whatever gets released.

Platinum means sales have fizzled very low, and a price drop comes to encourage those still waiting to pick it up for cheaper.
It's publicity and cheaper pricing in one quick move. You can notice this game sold enough copies for a "Platinum" status in pre-orders.

Here's what's going to happen to you, you won't like it, but it's un-avoidable.

You will keep spare money for GT5 DLC.
You will get frustrated waiting.
You will spend some, but not all of your extra money on other games/things.
You will continue to be frustrated waiting.
You will spend some more money on other games, still keeping enough for new DLC.
You will now pre-determine the minimum amount you need saved for emergency DLC arrival.
You will spend everything aside from that pre-determined amount.
Something will crop up that you will need to spend your saved DLC money, but you won't be worried, because there will still be no inclination of DLC coming.
You will build your DLC savings back up, and continue waiting.
You will die of old age, leaving thousands of dollars in DLC savings alone to loved ones.
GT6 will come out, with DLC instantly available.
Your loved ones will not buy or play GT6 at all, because FM 52 will be better.

True. But if they did make it platinum immediately, that would be a spit in face moment for those who payed full price, and I doubt pd are stupid enough to want that.

Well you just opened a big can of worms. :p
I think the "amazazing" Collector's edition did that already, to say the least. At least I'm happy not to have bought it. Almost though, almost.

What was wrong with the ce? I literally have no idea, but I only have the standard edition.

Well in a perfect world I would have liked a game in development for almost SIX YEARS to have been complete and bug free at launch. That way PD could have focused on giving us awesome DLC content and updates that are little more than bug fixes.

Also the GT community is not growing. Virtually every console game is the biggest in the week after launch and then slowly goes down over time.

Also go into any used game store......... there is 25+ copies at just the one I frequent.

Little more than bug updates? We are given content for free. Just because it isn't cars and tracks, doesn't mean we aren't getting any extra content.

Yep, that'll be why gt5 is the second best selling ps3 game world wide, behind black ops. Because every game goes bestseller, just like every book as well I guess...

And where I work, I sell at least 7 new copies a week, and considering our price is at least $10 more than the competition.

The only thing we've gotten worth money is seasonal events and the online ucd. the latter would only be worth real money if the cars were free though.
I would find it far beyond ridiculous to pay money for cars already in the game.
Of course what online game doesn't have some type of online events for free?

What will be why?
Less than 14,000 last week, I wouldn't be assuming hugh jumps in GT5 sales anytime soon, unless they start giving it away like XBOX's.

In the past 24 weeks, (almost 6 months) it's sold a whopping 440,000 copies worldwide.

6.42 million now total.
